The Captain

11th Fifth - Marvel Zombies making a come back!
[The Captain has had a bit of a confidence boost after AUfield went down.

And now, this happened.

The Captain doesn't do well with Zombies. This time though, he has fully lost it.]

A) [Action | Zombie PCs or Zombie enablers]

[The Captain is coming for you! This super hero is landing nearby and is almost too angry for words.]

B)[Action | Those fighting zombies, fleeing zombies, or in trouble]

[The Captain is flying around, looking for zombies to smash or people to pull out of danger.]

23rd ☆
[Action - 1125 Taylor (housemates)]

[Marisa is sitting on the couch with a project before her. Spread out on the coffee table are a couple small spools of purple thread, a pincushion with some sewing needles, scissors, bits of purple cloth of various types and durability, and the pieces of a certain purple beret-hat-thing that suffered fatal laser damage during the weird time when Marisa thought she was a vampire hunter.]

Ouch! Damnit...

[The witch hissed as she managed to stick her finger AGAIN with a sewing needle as she attempted to repair the hat. Into her mouth the finger went, a few others already had small bandages wrapped about them. This wasn't working very well; Marisa sucked at sewing. Just ask the stuffed bear-thing Marisa gave Rin.]

Oi! Mion! You home?!

[Phone]

Zombies. Again.

...someone needs to get more original. My suggestion for those of you that have never dealt with zombies before? Don't get bitten. Simple as that.

Anyways, Django? If you're not still pissed at me, which I totally understand if you are, I kinda have your gun. Figure you might wanna go shoot some zombies in the head with it or something. [Preferably not her, but she won't blame him if he does.]

[Action - 1664 Nelson]

[Yes, there are zombies around. Yes, some of them are now smoking piles of lasered flesh. But Marisa knocks on a certain door, a hand holding something hidden behind her back, and waits. She hopes her attire - still the vampire hunting clothes with the cape - won't cause a bad reaction, but she wasn't going to wear any of the drone clothes. Not for this.

Looking down, Marisa scuffed the toe of her boots on the stoop. She... she didn't like having to apologize for things.]

ZOMBIE ON A ROADROLLER
[early morning, Beulah St]

[Rin seems to have caught a cold of some kind while she was out and about. Her skin is flushed, and she occasionally coughs into her forearm. She's trying not to let it get her down, though, so here she is walking out of her house with her dog on a leash.

She gets a ways down the street before she completely falls down on her face. Not moving, not breathing. Her hand is still gripping tightly on the leash though. The dog stands over her, whining with concern and occasionally pulling away as far as he can. Looks like he wants to drag her back home...]

[late afternoon]

[guess what - that thing from before? IT WAS STEP 1 OF RIN JOINING THE UNDEAD. Now that the virus has reactivated her body, she's out for blood in the way she knows best: with her roadroller!

So Mayfield, enjoy the massive yellow machine crushing everything in its path, including you if you're not careful. Occasionally the roadroller's driver screams unintelligible noises - wait was that a WRYYYYYYYYYYN - oh shit!!]

Vingt-Cinq † not this hogwash again
[Phone - Public ;; backdated to Saturday because I got lazy]

[The feed opens with a faint sigh.]

Undead - zombies again, though something may be said for the fact that they are more resilient this time. [nope not skipping a beat as she jumps directly into the heart of the problem.] Facts known so far:

One. Every body is already dead without exception, this fact is irreversible. The flesh decays and the conscience rots away, but instincts seem to remain sharp.
Two. They feed on flesh, as expected, so don't get bitten. Better yet, avoid contact of any form to decrease odds of contamination.
Three. Sacraments and holy arts of any sort are ineffective. Destroying the brain alone will not stop the body, though decapitation and amputation can slow them down. They burn easily enough however, so eliminating the entire body remains ideal.
Four. The current situation is comparable to a plague. Transmission seems possible even without direct contact, some sort of virus is likely involved. It begins with high fever and vomiting, the victim will experience organ failure before dying. The time span seems to range from 30 minutes to an hour on a drone, it may be longer on an actual person. If there are any medical experts and biological researchers in town who are willing to take the risks, looking into this may yield a product that can help the infected during earlier stages - or prevent it from happening to others. I cannot vouch for the current state of the city hospital, but something can no doubt be arranged if there is interest. The alternative would be to wait until all this blows over; it shouldn't last for more than week at most, like all other unusual occurrences that ever tend to happen here.

Citizens are advised to stay inside and get together with someone apt at combat. The Church will be open for shelter as it has been during last year; none of these creatures will be able to breach the perimeter. Please reply if you require escort. I can't heal this, but I may be able to slow down the process of infection directly after contraction. Don't get too softhearted however; saving ever last person you may know would be impossible.

[She knows all this because she spent the entirety of last night keeping watch and taking notes of the drones in the streets during their infection/experimenting on the mangled corpses after. For once she 'lucked out', having ran into the first guy who had it despite not knowing that he's the original carrier. Hey, at least it tipped her off earlier--!

And if this sounds cranky, it's because that's exactly how Ciel feels. Before the feed cuts off however, it catches one line that it shouldn't have:]

Start another pot, Seven. This little coffee won't last me at all.

[Click.]

[Action - Around town ;; throughout Zombiefield Act II]

[Whenever she's not at the Church, Ciel'll be taking what extra time she has to patrol. Definitely gonna hop down and check in if she comes across someone she knows, will also interfere if she catches sight of anyone in trouble. But otherwise, don't be too surprised to see her in habit jumping roofs, lampposts, and wire poles like usual, even if it's full blown daylights out. ...Oh yeah, there's beating up zombies too, you may catch her effortlessly trashing a drone space zombie or several while wearing a scary expression. ...She really wasn't in the mood for this today, okay!!]

((OOC: Plotting was done here, the general thread for mingling/specific in-person interactions at the Church will be set up shortly can be found here at the catch-all log, o/))

Apparent major contagion loose. Would appreciate any information or samples available. Will be at hospital if needed.

[Action: Hospital]

[Mordin has taken over a section of the hospital and is moving around analyzing whatever he's been able to find in an attempt to devise a cure]

Could try... no, no resources. Will perservere. Still have brain. Most important part.

Whether or not these zombies are due to the work of the town or an individual, I must say it is so terribly uncreative. If I recall correctly, it was nearly around the same time last year where a similar incident happened as well. Really, if you are out to terrify and maim us, do try a bit harder next time. A boring game of repetition is no entertainment at all.

And as terribly bored as I am, I will offer a great kindness in hopes that it will relieve such boredom. Do take note of it as I can assure you such a thing will not happen again. [Kindness only comes once in a million years alright!!] If anyone is interested, I shall be sharing tea at 1648 Albright Lane. It is as good a time as any for a good cup of tea and enjoyable conversation.

Of course, should you be attacked on your way here if you choose to come--well, I suppose that is simply not my problem. [And with that she hangs up. What a lovely young girl, right...]

Action: 1648 Albright Lane

[And true to her word, housemates and guests will be able to find Rachel in the kitchen sipping tea and having a pastry or two. The pot of tea is still hot, and there's a plate of other pastries on the table too. Clearly a zombie invasion is the time to enjoy yourself with tea. u_u]

Case 5: Machine/Zombie (Backdated to Saturday June 9th)
[Action A: 3472 Erwin Road.]

I've never heard of mail on a Saturday before...

[Shoutaro is holding a small box in his hand, on the doorstep. Hell examine it for a second, then carefully open it. Out pops a set of keys.]

Huh? Why did...wait. These are MY keys!

[His head snaps up, and he's running to the garage, throwing it open. Inside is a black and green motorcycle.]

Hardboiler. Long time no see...

[Action B: Anywhere in town.]

[Looks like the bike came not a moment too soon. While out searching for a helmet so he doesn't crack his noggin open, he'll spot the zombie outbreak.]

Man. It's just one thing after another.

[If anyone needs help zombie-pounding, or is in need of saving, make yourselves heard.]

[Action around Mayfield]
[The Force is strong with this one, thanks to regains. Unfortunately, telekinesis was never strong with Corran and moving a pebble was considered a great achievement to him.

Telekinesis would have been nice to have right now. Pushing the zombie-like things away from him would be nicer than lopping their heads off with his lightsaber but he has no other choice. Using the Force to enhance his reaction times, strength, and speed was something he could do very well though. Especially since he was a surprisingly good lightsaber duelist. It must have run in the family.

Still, he ends up having to talk to himself...or anyone that is nearby, Corran supposes. It doesn't need to be too awkward.]

It sure would be nice if [SLASH] these things ever got tired. The running [SLASH] thing kind of wore me out first. I'm sorry if I know you but I'd rather not die either. [SLASH] ...maybe if you actually died in the first place. [The ones he cut down just moments before keep pulling themselves to their feet or dragging themselves along.]

[Phone Call]
Is there anyone out there who's got some kind of organized resistance going? Protect those who can't fight, stave off any problems before they happen, that kind of thing? Just tell me where to go and I'll see if I can give a helping hand. Hopefully I don't end up getting the short end of the stick before then.

Tale 006 - Zombies, Zombies everywhere. (Backdated to Saturday 9th 2012)

Page 1 - 754 Partridge Drive

[Well Henry woke up and went downstairs to have breakfast. But he found a package on the breakfast table that was addressed to him. Curiously, he unwraps the package and his eyes widen with delight. It was his storybook! So the town did give back things when they did those horrible events? But was it really worth hurting those people's feelings to get this back...? No probably not but he would have to thankful that he at least got it without sacrificing a kidney.

So Henry, is going to run upstairs and change so he can go around finding people he told about his book to show that he got it back.]

Page 2 - Around Town

[Well...this as not what he was expecting. There were people foaming at the mouth and trying to bite him. A couple of times he had to swing his back pack at some of them to knock them away (thank God that book is so damn heavy.) But still he's extremely frightened and he's calling out for help.]

Someone! Anyone!

Page 3 - John Doe Park

[Henry has managed to climb up a tree and hide in the higher branches. Will someone be in the tree with him or is someone trying to climb up at him?]

56th Resurrection
[Action A: around town: Zombies. Smart zombies. Oh, Mayfield. You can't scare Theo Crawford with this. He made his first smart zombie when he was 15. Child's play.

He's out on the town without a care, his spell book ready and his pockets full of spell components. Ones that try to sneak up on him will be caught quickly. Zombies who laid traps for people will suddenly find themselves falling victim to their own, no longer in control of themselves. He'll turn some against each other for fun to watch them tear each other apart. Feel free to approach him if you're out, need help, want to see what's up, whatever. Anyone who can tell will notice Theo has a lot of magic going right now - to protect himself and to control his the hoards.

He's obviously having a good time with all this. Theo is a necromancer first and foremost. It's what he knows. It's what he loves.]

---

Action B: 337 Brady Lane front lawn: Later you might find him on his lawn, where he's taken a zombie as a sample back with him. He's sitting there openly, sleeves rolled up, a cigarette in his mouth as he looks over various parts of the creature. Upon closer inspection, one will notice the large protection circle around himself and the experiment so that no other undead will be getting near him. Theo's got different equipment with him out there too, including amongst them some boxes, tupperwear, lighter fluid, and a machete.

Seems he's used that knife to severe the arm of this unconscious zombie, and is taking notes while he casts spells on it and looks it over. After a few gestures and some mumbling of Latin, the hand starts to wriggle and begins to pull itself along. Theo makes an impressed nise to himself, and jots some notes down. It's not every day he comes across non-magically created zombies, so it's time to get all the data and have all the fun he can.]

Ruling 20 (Phone)
The most important thing to do in times like this is to stay calm. There is usually little long term affect to such happenings so there's no reason to be overly worked up. But in light of everything I will offer those unable to defend themselves or find suitable safe ground, my own residence. It should be safe enough from all danger and the infected will be kept away.

Death
10 June 2012 @ 09:55 pm

[Action: 307 Miller (backdated to the beginning of the event)]

[Death is already dressed in her traditional undead outbreak gear: 80s workout clothes. She's looking for Death and Mason, though for separate reasons]

We have zombies again.

[Action: Around Mayfield]

[Death is trying her usual reaping approach. Except it's not working]

These ones are different...

[Phone (Forward dated to Monday evening)]

[There's a rare note of what might actually be irritation in Death's voice]

If there's anyone else who could possibly regain something that unleashes a plague of undead on the town, could they please let me and Death know now?

[Action: Olney's Tavern (Forward dated to Monday evening)]

[Death is no stranger to Olney's, of course. It's a good place to meet people. She does not, however, usually drink with quite such... purpose.]

☠Fifth Reel: UGH, zombies... [PHONE]
I simply detest soulless automatons. What's worse is that they are actually intelligent. Quite a nuisance.

If anyone needs me, I'll be...indisposed.
