Obi-Wan Kenobi

007. au event.
[ 952 Beulah Street – Morning ]

[ He's seated at the kitchen table, having not even gone to sleep the night before, or even the night before that. His cool, relaxed posture gives nothing away. The fact that he is ready for anything, at any moment.

He has lived in near-isolation for what has felt like years. Mayfield is overwhelming enough, even while lacking the presence of the Force. But Obi-Wan Kenobi has never been one to condone weakness, especially when it comes to himself.

He will not be made a prisoner here.

So he sits, and he waits, as calm as ever, sipping at a cup of tea, waiting for the woman who had been assigned to live with him to appear. ]

[ MacCready and Sons Law Office – Afternoon ]

[ Obi-Wan has always placed the best of his efforts into every task he performs, even the most mundane. Working in this office holds less excitement than anything he can place in living memory.

Everything about his demeanour hints someone who is quite inviting, and always charming. Strange, considering how as a Jedi, he would prefer to keep himself at a distance from all but a select few. ]

[ John Doe Park – Late Afternoon to Evening ]

[ He's out stalking walking as he attempts to bring everything into focus. He cannot help but inwardly feel bewildered, while lacking in his usual patience. As he walks, soft words are mumbled out under his breath. ]

He is here. Anakin. Skywalker is here... You're a fool, a damn blasted fool.

((ooc: So! Better late than never, right? For this AU, Obi-Wan accepted Count Dooku's offer to join him in Attack of the Clones. While he isn't a Sith Lord, he is a Dark Jedi, made rather angry and partially insane due to so much crap Dooku put him through (all at Sidious' command, of course).))

[at 456 Stone st]

[It's pretty obvious by now that the house hasn't been cleaned over the weekend. There are dishes in the sink, some toys in the living room, and plates with leftover cake lying around. And there's also a visibly irate young woman standing at the foot of the half fixed staircase, banging a wooden spoon against the wall.]

Do you know how many people live in this house? Not just me, that's for sure! And just because I don't mind the occasional mess [that she's been cleaning up until the memory corruption] this doesn't mean we have to live like pigs. I'm not picking up after anyone!

[Outside 456 Stone st, and visible in the backyard]

[Guess who has assembled and lined up a neat row of rifles and a couple of pistols? This country here. She's exchanged her pretty dress for her uniform pants and a tanktop, and she's done lining up targets all over the yard.]

We're not going back inside until you hit bulls eye in every target. I won't always be around to protect you children, you know.

Tonight, I'm making men out of you!

[AU info: Hungary is currently in her teenage years, at least in her head. She also firmly believes she's a guy (still)]

You're the Next Princess of the Nadesico
[Ruri had always been a direct girl, raised to be a computer interface for the most part due to a bombing of a fertility clinic, had that not happened she'd have been the oldest child and only daughter of the King of Peaceland, Mayfield has chosen to give her those memories]

A - 947 Beulah St (Backdated to the first day)

[Waking up Ruri sighed at the banal existence here and decided today was the day she was going to do something about it. Heading outside and into the ship she'll be seen poking around, humming something and looking generally cheerful as opposed to blank and deadpan.]

Phone -

Citizens of Mayfield, first I would like to open that drab ship up to all as an actual high class hotel and spa. There is a hot springs and over 100 rooms with full amenities, if anyone would like to help in that venture I could use a competent staff. That and if there is a tailor among you, I would kill for some actual nice clothes, ones that were made by someone who has any sort of fashion sense at all.

B - Around town

[Ruri is out, she looks animated, and she's making lots of purchases downtown of household things, occasionally she'll go into a shop and try to haggle with the clerks, and other times she'll try and confuse one of the drones into a deal. Either way she's not acting her normal self.]

[Fakecut to AU information!]

[Action: Around town.]

[Working as a babysitter is pretty tough for Mirai. It's obvious she's not having an easy time of it, as she tries to wrangle 3 drone children who keep trying to run off on her. She grabs one by the collar.]

Hey, where do you think you're going!? Are you trying to get hurt, or what?

[The other two push her forward from behind, and she barely manages to keep her feet as they run off without her.]

Eh-? Hey! Get back here!

[They're out of sight within a few seconds.]

Ugh... Just great.

[Phone]

It's been really quiet lately. Too quiet. This place has to be planning something big to make up for this.

Have any of you heard or seen something weird?

✱ All around town - all day

[ Mana can be found walking all over town today, but something seems a bit off. Instead of finding a nice quiet place to read she's just kinda ignoring anything having to do with that sort of thing. ]

This is so boring, something interesting happen already.

[ Yep something is off, normally she isn't this straight foreword or rude while talking. ]

She's got to have something fun stashed away at the house or some other place we go to a lot.

The Unmasked Man
[Once upon a time, two little boys saw their mother killed by a monster before their very eyes.  Sacrificing herself so that they could live, the brave woman was later avenged to some degree by the efforts of her heartbroken husband... but not before another of the boys had lost their lives.

Resurrected and controlled as a weapon by the invading army due to his immense innate PSI power, this boy would go on to fight his twin over and over again in a battle for the fate of their world itself.  In the end, his mind restored to him, he would die again at his own hand such that his twin could make an effort to revive their dying world.

...But which twin had been which?]

[voice]
[Lucas's voice, slightly cold and detached as it usually is, sounds over the phone.]

...I'm tired of receiving things I've never actually owned.  There's a lot of junk clogging up my room.  I'm leaving it out in the yard in case anyone wants it.  Feel free to pay or not.

Not the Pork Bean; I can use that.  ...Though I don't know who gave it a makeover.  Not that I liked the original design very much, regardless.

[action, 846 Goldberg]
[As promised, the items sitting in Lucas's yard, among other things, include (1) one walking table, (1) one weird book filled with pictures of monsters, (1) one yo-yo, and a bunch of other toys that look unused.  He'll sit on his porch looking vaguely bored, swinging a baseball bat idly and occasionally stabbing at things with it as if it were a sword.]

[action, park]
[And whenever he's done with his yard sale, he can be found in the park smashing said bat against a tree.  He wonders how long it's going to take to get a sword and his wings back, but until then, he can at least practice fighting with a blunt weapon.  Lucas was already a formidable fighter before, but with the training he received with the Pigmask Army, he's much stronger.  His form is excellent; every step he takes seems to be smooth and coolly calculated.  It is a mark of his finesse that the tree only receives minor damage - he's practicing form here, not strength.]

7th shot :: magic and mayhem
[Action :: Around Mayfield]

[No magic, no abilities. Nothing.

The full weight of being so long without these abilities is bearing on her particularly hard for some reason. These past few days have not been particularly happy for the girl (even more so than usual) and when she's not in school, she's stalking about though she seems to be mostly (fake) smiles. Occasionally she'll kick a trashcan or easily tippable object in irritation as it bubbles up, almost daring something to come and stop her. Other times she'll occasionally bump into people and snap irritably at them as if it's their fault.]

((OOC: AU information is here. Instead of living in a world that is governed by science and technology, she thinks she hails from a world where magic reigns supreme.))

Something Wicked This Way Comes
[Being the granddaughter of the Cheerful Fairy could be very difficult at times. ...Enough said.]

[voice]

Oh, don't let's all be so on edge.  We have enough trouble without everyone being absolutely horrid to each other for no good reason whatsoever.  That reminds me - Do you all know what my grandmother always told me when I was young?  Yes, that's right.

Whiskers on kittens and brown paper, er... chickens.
Bright blue bananas and
... and... aluminum mittens oh, no mittens was in the previous line
Enemas given to quite sore behinds
These are a few of my favorite
... No, stop, I got confused with lines; that was supposed to rhyme with 'things'.  Let's begin again.

[This continues for about ten minutes before Susan finally stops singing.]

Oh, forget the song.  The point is, come now, there's no reason we can't all be friends!  It's a lovely summer day outside.  Who wants to join me for a rousing game of hopscotch?  I'll bake cookies~

[action, 726 Anderson]
Luke!  Slugger!  Edward!

It's time for our weekly game of charades!  I've prepared an entirely new set of clues; everything from 'small child receiving a pat on his head from his favorite great-aunt' to 'dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps'.  It will be great fun; oh, I simply couldn't sleep last night thinking about it!

A. Greased Lightning Garage

[It ain't as interesting as working on the Millennium Falcon, but it's a way to pass the time, and Han's starting to really get the hang of the archaic engines the vehicles use.]

B. Olney's Tavern

[If there's one thing Han's been doing a lot of lately, it's drinking. Sure, he's always enjoyed the occasional brandy, but after the Death Star blew up the rebel base... there's been more reason for it. That hasn't really changed with the whole kidnapped to another dimension thing. So he's at the bar after work, enjoying some nice, Earth drinks.]

C. Phone

I've been to a lot of planets, and I don't think any of them reach this place's levels of dullness. There's gotta be somewhere around here that's less... wholesome.

AU information and additional links )

[Action A (EARLY MORNING): 310 Miller Street]

[ Rin's not sure when she's fallen asleep, but when she wakes up, she certainly does feel it. The way her pajamas stick to her make her feel sick, despite the thin straps that barely cling. She's half dressed with bottoms that can hardly be called shorts, but the sweat that dampen her sheets makes her skin crawl. Another dark dream of blurs and overwhelming pleasure. The only thing that frustrates her is the fact that her Servant may have seen it, the girl rolling over onto her face to bury it in her pillow. Her alarm continues to go off, loud enough to wake up anyone else in the house, and she doesn't seem to be making any movement to turn it off. ]

[Action B (MORNING): Rec Center]

[ Now that there was a lack of school to attend, Rin found herself with a lot of free time. Maybe it was habit due to the first "father" she had in Mayfield, but as per usual, she left the house in the morning to spend the day out. What better way to do that than at the swimming pool at the Rec Center? She's a bit reluctant to enter though. The last time she was here was whenever one of the big heads of Mayfield was found dying and that conversation she shared with them kept itself in the back of her mind. A silent reminder that people will never leave this town no matter what. So she'll be lingering in various places such as outside the doors, the girl's showers, and the doorway to the pool. ]

[Action C (AFTERNOON): The Record Store]

[ Her adventures at the pool didn't last very long, so it was time for the next best thing: shopping. With little interest in baking, gardening, and sewing, this left her very few places she could go for actual entertainment. It's during her uneventful walk through Downtown does she notice the record shop. She'll be picking through the records, trying to make as many classical choices as she can because she was raised... wait, how was she raised again? She remembered it being classy, but she was a Matou. She can be found standing in confusion or giving the evil eye towards some rock record as she moves to the register. ]

Private phone calls to Yuna Akashi, Hakuno Kishinami, and Garviel Loken )

[Phone (NIGHT): Filtered from drones]

I've got only one question for you tonight, Mayfield. Why are people calling me 'Tohsaka' and not by my proper last name? It's unsettling because the man who is the head of the family is now within this place and I really don't feel like drudging up bad memories. Although a proper confrontation would be a bit of fun. Lancer, are you free?

The forge is unlit/the steel unrefined/still as derpy as ever. AU details within. )

[Morning - 768 Bunker - Housemates and Unexpected Visitors]

[Another day, another morning in the bizarre and slightly alarming town of Mayfield. Shirou didn't really quite understand a lot of events that happened when he thought about it. Apparently, some girl he knew in high school told him a lot of things at some point...Rin, was it? It seemed pretty important in his memory, but he never really thought much of her, even back then. A lot of things in his memory in Mayfield and what he knew of himself didn't add up...which was amazing considering how little time he had spent here.

Oh, well. He figured his 'wife' would be awake soon so he was busily putting together a breakfast for both The Handmaid [he really DID need to ask if she had a name that was easier to use in conversation] and himself. In an apron. While humming a jaunty tune to himself and looking unrionically at peace. Even though Mayfield was a pretty stressful place, something like his old hobby of cooking was very therapeutic for him. So the smell of some delicious omelets are floating around the house...and near the window for anyone passing by.]

[Afternoon - Main Street Barber Shop - Open]

Um...good as new! I think.

[Shirou really hated this job. He knew absolutely nothing about cutting, styling, or anything else involving hair. Him being such an abysmal failure at it might have explained why his hair whitened so early. Or if one needed less cosmic evidence for how much he sucked at being a barber, one only need look at recent drone customers. The lucky ones have a few misshapen hairdos. The truly horrific ones have nearly lost all of their hair with some messily-bandaged cuts here and there (he himself having applied said bandages), and some have somehow gained afros. Of course, drones being drones, they don't seem to mind.]

Oh thank you, Mr. Emiya! I look positively wonderful. [Quote the drone woman who's stereotypical 50s hair had been reduced to a boyish crew cut. Shirou would just laugh nervously and wave at her as she left with a plastic smile on her face.]

Ahahaha...sure. No problem. [He really wishes he was somewhere else right now. Approach him or the horrible abominations he has created?]

[Evening - Phone - Unfiltered]

Hey, uh...is it just me or have a lot of people been acting more strangely than lately? I mean, yeah, this place is pretty weird already with a lot of weird people...erm. I mean that in a good way. I think. But, yeah, is everything alright? This is a creepy and messed up town already. It doesn't do any of us good if we're restless, right?

DEPLOYMENT 18: The Shadow on the Sun
AU Information and introspection under cut. )

[ACTION - A (847 Goldberg, Morning/Late Morning, HOUSEMATES/GUESTS)]

[Usually Balin would be much more focused on his project with the homebrew perimeter defense, but today his heart doesn't seem to be in it. He does tinker with it, looking over his notes while trying to find the best way to assemble a housing for the explosive charge and the payload. Maybe it's the way his eyes look a lot more unfocused—but haven't they always been that way?]

[ACTION - B (Outside 847 Goldberg, Noon, OPEN TO ALL)]

[First order of business: cleaning up the yard. After that fight Meiling and Utsuho had the other day, the yard has been a mess, with Meiling's scales and Utsuho's feathers strewn everywhere. Balin's out trying to rake up the detritus, and he's got help—in the form of Caesar, who is also affected by his own bout of memory corruption.]

[Care to stop by?]

[Note: For this prompt, responses may come from either Balin, Caesar ([personal profile] commentboxtroll), or both. Specify if you want someone specific!]

[ACTION - C (Anywhere in Mayfield, Afternoon/Evening, OPEN TO ALL)]

[Balin's still keeping to his usual physical training regimen. It may serve no purpose to stay fit for the war back home, but between Mayfield's whims and the sadistic residents, there's no reason not to stay in shape. So you might run into him around town, jogging or doing push-ups. He's also heavily armed, of course—having heard some of the genocidal declarations over the phone lines this week, if he gets caught by one of them he won't be going down without a brutal fight.]

[ACTION - D (Makeout Point, Night, OPEN TO ALL)]

[With nothing left to do for today, Balin's going to be spending some time stargazing up at Makeout Point. He's got a case of Mayfield's consumer-brand beer with him. He'd never been a heavy drinker, but the fact that he's survived death only to be a plaything to the people who run this town has overwhelmed him tonight. He might be a little drunk if you come to see what he's up to. Just a little.]

AU info.... )

[Today, Mindy can be found quietly drawing with chalk on the street in front of her house. She started on the driveway but ran out of room. And far from her usual fare, these pictures are of what appear to various monsters and spectres. Some of which are exaggerated versions of ghosts, or creatures from fairy tales. Others might be familiar to the long time Mayfield resident. These are the half remembered horrors of her 'previous' stay in town and include Hazmats, the Milkman, and the 'monster' from the hospital.(Black Mage) She seems to be totally absorbed in what she's doing. 4th Hatred - Hell's fury [AU Event
[What if Wanyudo never got recruited by a little girl? One who gave him a task other than just tearing down roads after travelers. Scaring the lucky ones and dragging the not so lucky ones to hell.

What if that demon was stuck in the body of an old man, not by choice, and lacked any of his powers beyond being a youkai?

Well, you'd get this.]

[Action | Any street]

[Are you one of those people who walks in the street? Do you cross while ignoring crosswalks?

Then Wanyudo is coming for you. This old man is flying at you at full speed with the metal monsters that make up your average 1950's suburban vehicle.

Actually, even if you do walk on the side walk and use crosswalks, he's coming for you. Wanyudo is screaming out his window as he drives.

He's not trying too hard to hit you, though, he'll come damn close.

Depending on your reaction, he might even back up, or swing around and try again.]

[Action | Night | Make Out Point]

[He's going to finish his day by setting the back half of his car on fire and hopping out of it as it speeds off the cliff.

Tucking and rolling as he dives out the door. He'll even get up, brush off, and go over to the edge to grin down at his work.]
