Kariya Matō

4th Worm
[Well, Rin's party was mostly a success, except for the part where Kariya's last regain ended up getting opened after everyone had gone home.  Small blessing that only Rin and Kariya's housemates were really around to see it happen, but the package was indeed full of the Crest Worms he had carried in his body at home, and they wasted no time at all re-infesting every inch of his flesh.

Although it's been a few days, there's just no getting used to this sort of thing, especially when it happens all at once like that.  And unfortunately, there are obligations that Kariya has to fulfill or risk being droned.  He'd skipped work on Friday to plan Rin's party, and again on Monday while he recovered.  And while being droned would be a temporary reprieve, he doesn't want to worry anyone - least of all Rin.]

[Action; Mayfield Elementary School]

[Hey there, Mayfield's brightest young minds.  Ready for your writing and spelling lessons today?  You might be, but your teacher is clearly not.  Mr. Matou has definitely seen better days.  It's clearly still him, but his hair has turned stark white and his left eye is completely clouded over.  His face is gaunt, as if he hasn't eaten in days, and in a few places it's even possible to see the veins bulging underneath his skin.  He walks with a heavy limp, favoring the right side of his body as he slowly makes his way to the front of the room.]

Class--

[And there it is - another heavy coughing fit.  It's sickly and wet sounding, and his entire body shudders with the effort.  It lasts a few moments longer than is probably comfortable for anyone in the room, and it's a few moments later still that Kariya regains control of himself with a few deep breaths.]

...Open your books to page 32.

[Action; Mayfield Streets; early evening]

[Somehow, Kariya managed to make it through an entire day of teaching.  That's two more days he'll be able to go without having to come into work before he's forced into it again.  Maybe in that amount of time, he can find someone or something to help him with this little problem of his.  He's not holding out much hope, but Mayfield has people with talents he could only have dreamed of back home.  The real problem is finding someone, as he isn't exactly in the shape to be walking all over town.  But he's got at least enough strength to shuffle around for a few hours since he doesn't have the added strain of maintaining Berserker's summoning on top of dealing with the worms trying to eat him from the inside out.

...Again, small blessings.]

[Action; Salvation Church; night]

[And perhaps subconsciously, Kariya ends up at the church.  He knows Mayfield's church isn't full of Executors like Kirei Kotomine, but it's a familiar locale all the same.  Maybe he stumbled in here because the church is where he was headed next at home before passing out in an alleyway and waking up in Mayfield.  Who's to say, really.  But whatever the reason, Kariya throws open the front doors to the church, staggering toward one of the pews in the back row before collapsing into it, his breath heavy and labored.]

Tch... damn... pushed it too far...

[He can barely move right now apart from the motion of his chest as he catches his breath.  Even the task of walking around town takes its toll in his current state.  And while there are definitely worse places to have to spend the night, somewhere inside Kariya is kicking himself again for being so weak and so useless.]

Yuna "The Kid" Akashi

31st Magic Bullet - A day in the life of Yuna Akashi
[Once again, it seems like the calm before the storm with Mayfield events.  Yuna's fallen back into her usual routine - training for the inevitable, whatever it may be, and trying to entertain herself and maintain some semblance of a normal social life so she doesn't go crazy.  So here's a typical day in the life of this not so typical schoolgirl.]

1. [Action; 1336 Benny Road; before sunrise]

[Ever since talking with Nanoha a few weeks ago, Yuna's been getting up even earlier than normal to get some magical training in.  She's good enough with her guns for the time being and can always train with Garviel at home, so she works purely with the one spell she knows while she's doing this kind of training.  Having finally regained her old wand from home, she works diligently every morning on her fire-elemental version of Magic Archer.  Though it's early, her voice can still be heard as she repeats her incantation.]

Tytto tytto pycgadpymm!  Unum spiritus ignis... coèuntes, sagittent inimicum meam!  Sagitta Magica, convergentia ignis!

2. [Action; Mayfield High]

[Most days, between the early mornings training with magic and all the other running around she does after school, Yuna spends about half of her classes with a book propped up in front of her face as she catches a quick nap.  Sometimes it's intentional, and sometimes she flops over without even having a chance to put her ingenious book shield up first.  She's pretty much over paying attention to Mayfield classes anyway - the grades don't matter, and half the teachers don't care either.  She'll take her chances.]

3. [Action; rec center]

[After classes are over, Yuna takes a short jog over to the rec center to use some of the sports equipment.  Of course, with her it's always the same one - basketball.  She always starts out with some stretching to get her muscles loosened up, and then starts practicing her fundamentals, running through various drills she's done a thousand times over.  This lasts for an hour or so, as she dribbles up and down the court, practicing her jump shot, three pointers, and her ball handling in general.  Once she's done, she takes a rest on the bleachers with a bottle of water.]

4. [Action; around Mayfield]

[Between an early dinner and the time when she heads home to do some relaxing, Yuna usually spends some time bumming around town seeing what her friends are up to.  She might be over at the malt shop, just walking around town, browsing the aisles at the grocery store, looking at clothes at Bodine Fashion, or paying an actual visit to someone's house.  If Yuna knows you, there's a chance you'll bump into one another while she's looking for something to do.]

5. [Action; roof of 2237 Stevens; just before sunset]

[Well, this isn't really part of Yuna's typical day, but there's been a lot on her mind recently and she thought it'd be a nice place to go to get her thoughts in order.  It's not exactly the most subtle thinking place, but maybe she's looking for some company anyway and just didn't say it.  There certainly is a ladder propped up on the side of the house, anyway, so it's not like it would be too hard for someone to get up there to sit with her and find out what's going on.  Until then, though, she seems to content to just rest her head on her knees and stare out over the town as the sun starts to dip past the furthest streets she can see.]

Sayaka Miki

Legato
[Action; Mayfield High; after classes]

[Sayaka sees even less point in paying attention to Mayfield school than she does her classes at home, so she hasn't really been taking things very seriously.  Today seems a little different, though, as she isn't heading home right away.  Instead, she hangs around for a little while after the last bell rings, making her way to the school's music room.  Spending a little time wandering around, she eventually comes upon a violin that had been left behind by one of the drone students.]

Hm... I wonder...

[Picking it up slowly, she turns it around in her hands a few times, just inspecting it.  Finally, with a shrug of her shoulders, she takes up the bow, awkwardly resting the instrument between her chin and shoulder the way she'd seen Kyosuke do it on the rooftop of the hospital.  Her form is obviously terrible to anyone familiar with this, as is the sound that issues forth from the instrument as she drags the bow across the strings.  It's so bad that she fumbles and almost drops the violin before recovering it at the last second with a sigh.]

Ack...!  Geez, I hope nobody heard that...

[Action; Record Store]

Maybe I should just stick to listening to classical.

[Sayaka laughs to herself a little as she walks into Mayfield's record store, hoping to find something nice to listen to that will remind her of home - of the boy she loves and misses every day, the one who became her reason for becoming a magical girl in the first place.  Most people are disappointed when they come into this place looking for good music, but Sayaka's eyes light up immediately at their surprisingly large collection of classical performances.]

Oh, wow, I've always wanted to listen to this one!  Kyosuke talks about this guy all the time... Vivaldi, right!

[Although she seems pretty puzzled by the format.  Girl has probably never seen a vinyl record in her life, let alone a device to play one.]

...How do these play, though?

[Help her out?]

Bail Organa

[Action: In front of 457 Stone Street]

[Bail finds a package addressed to him in the mail, as apparently happens now and then. He opens it to find... technical readouts of some sort? And gives it a distinctly puzzled look.]

[Phone]

Has anyone else ever received a package that they cannot identify at all?
