vingt-six † puppies come in all kinds
[Phone - Public]

Good morning! This call is addressed to anyone who might be interested in keeping a pet. I have... a number [because hell naw she's not going to say 15 on the phone provided a few didn't get lost along the way already] of Scottish Terrier puppies that are looking for new homes. They're around a year old, purchased at the pet store here a few months back. The previous owner can no longer take care of them, so I was hoping that maybe others would like to adopt them into a different household instead. They're docile around people and enjoy playing outside a lot, they're also all fit and in good health. [Not a direct result of being intimidated at will, forbidden from showing their muzzle in the house when a certain household member is also around, and forced to look for their own food half the time because the food's limited in the backyard, nope... THESE PUPPIES DON'T HAVE SPADES TO SPOIL THEM ANYMORE, but they do look ok and they're drone animals so no one can tell. SHHHH....] If you'd like to meet them in person, please feel free to drop by at 1125 Taylor Road at any time this afternoon. Thank you for your time!

[Action]
I. Taylor Road ;; Afternoon

[there is like

a dozen or something of Scottish Terrier puppies wrestling with each other on the front lawn. Ciel's somehow managed to gather them together after all, what a miracle... She doesn't look too enthusiastic about this, though, adjusting her glasses as she gives the animals a flat stare.

Close by is an angelic boy dressed in white with short and smooth black hair loitering by the fence. ...Oh wait, maybe that boy is the reason for her indifferent mood. Ciel's never happy when Merem ([personal profile] splitthebaby) is around, is she? But Merem at least seems to be enjoying himself with the puppies. It's not like he can talk to animals and is here to judge any potential pet owners because he cares more about drone animals than humans or anything, NOPE

Approach?]

((OOC: Joint prompt with Merem Solomon, tags will be separate to make it easier for everyone o/))

II. Church ;; Evening
[Business as usual. If the Sister isn't in the front pretending to be reading the Bible but actually working on less holy things busying over something, you can probably find her in the back kitchen. The lights are all on there, easily noticeable from the side windows to any outsider. That means the place is open for tea and sweets and dubious sound spiritual advice for any wary of mind. Got nothing especially interesting planned for the night? Why not drop by? Everyone's secretly heretical anyway.]

III. Church ;; Night
[It's past 10pm, and the lights are out. ...That is, except for a very dim one placed above the door to the back entrance of the Church. A robed figure slinks out, headed towards the small cluster of woods past the storage shed. It's late and no one really comes to the Church except for select losers. Yeah, this may look fishy, but Ciel can totally take a few steps around her own Mayfieldian natural habitat without getting accosted, right.

...Maybe...]

IV. Around town ;; Late Night
[Patrol as usual. As we know, old habits can be hard to break. It's not like anything exciting ever really happens after midnight in Mayfield, but heck, Ciel HAS gotten a few kicks in the past stalking vampires and scaring them without actually doing anything because lol OP vampire hunter with all her regains back. GIVE THEM A TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE, HAH.

...ER, that is. She'll be swinging by the streets, traveling by hopping lamp posts and roofs and etc as usual, gonna stop by the park and downtown a bit to ultimately end up at Makeout Point. The view is nice, alright... And there just might be something up there, that she may or may not wanted to check up on. Also out for a midnight stroll? You might just run into her! ...Or she might end up stalking you for a bit. Hey, she never denied her line of work to be questionable...]

New nail 001- LIKE THE PHOENIX...
[Action, Erwin Road.]

[Bang wakes up, really unaware of how long he's been gone. These drones look nothing like those that once lived here...]

Ah, so it seems I have returned to this place once more....

[He steps out of the house, to the street... he looks around for any sign of familiarity, other than the traditional Mayfield look... but sadly, this does not look like he's on Stevens Road anymore.]

How long was I out? No matter, if I have returned here, then it must be for a reason! I must not slack on my training!

[Bang picks up the pace of his walk, so if you're on this street, you may see him turning his walk into a jog.]

[Around town]

[Yep, he's still running. Except now it's up on the rooftops, jumping from building to building all ninja-style. He occasionally stops to dramatically stare down at the town below. This town's self-proclaimed protector has returned, and he wants to let the world know!]

[Phone]

[this is yelled, but the phone is a distance away from his face. He will not stop with heroic speeches ever, don't even bother trying.]

Citizens of Mayfield, those that have been downtrodden by dastardly deeds! Those of you whose...nights....are filled with...night...mares. As of today, you can rest easy! The defender of justice, the great BANG SHISHIGAMI, has made his triumphant return to this place, to keep his ever-vigilant eye on those who stand for love and justice! Evildoers, consider this your one and only warning! No matter if the evil is from the town itself, or those trapped inside that would gladly harm the innocent for their own gain...I, Bang Shishigami, will lay the Shishigami Smackdown upon it! Rest assured, my friends. You are safe once again.

Fourth Oath of the moment: Only war
1 On the phone, filtered from drones. Anyone who wishes to learn close combat as an Astartes does, let me know. I have the proper tools now for full instruction now.

2 2237 Stevens Road, back yard [ A huge, articulated metal cage now stands in Garviel's backyard, along with some sort of strange, cybernetic-looking thing made out of pale human flesh and absurdly elaborate metal parts. It has blade-limbs, and a strange visor in the place of eyes, bulked out with gene-bred muscle and metal hoses that run all over the torso, back, arms and legs. It squares off with the huge, unarmored astartes, who is stripped to the waist, the black neural connections of the surgically implanted carapace beneath his skin showing clearly. He holds a eagle-etched Spatha and a roaring chainsword as he growls at the Servitor. ] Level 10, maximum lethality.

3 Makeout Point [ Evening, an armored figure stares down and out over the town, holding a huge cannon-like weapon in his arms, a silent sentinel cast silver in the moonlight. Dare you approach? ]

2 2237 Stevens Road, front yard [ Garviel is out cleaning off a huge battletank, picking some remains of bone and other material out of the treads of the adamantine treads of the Land Raider. The tank is large enough to dwarf the huge space marine. ]

723 Anderson
[Outside of this humble abode sits a car, Corran, and his astromech droid, Whistler. Corran has Whistler rigged up on a stand so he can look down at the car's engine in the same manner Corran is.

Both are fiddling around without issues until there's a loud POP. Corran jerks back and Whistler floops off his stand, screaming and hitting the ground with a THUNK.

Corran rushes over to right the droid.]

What happened there?!

[A very....rude noise comes from Whistler.]

What do you mean it was my fault?

[More indecipherable twittering]

Of course I remembered to ground the battery, see? [nope]

....oh. You need to remind me about these things. I've never seen something be so primitive yet so complicated.

[He looks at the droid, which hoots triumphantly.]

We're never going to get this done, are we?

Phone Call
If anyone has any idea on how to overcharge a car so I can get more speed out of it, let me know. The hunk of junk moves too slow for my comfort. I just can't figure this out and having more speed would be nice.

[action - grocery store]
[Early in the afternoon, Czes is wandering around the produce section of the grocery store. He parked his shopping cart nearby, some groceries already inside -- detergent, a bar of soap, coffee and some vegetables -- but he's stuck on what to do about fruits. Which ones taste good at this time of the year? Which ones are ripe right now, anyway?

He goes between the fruits, occasionally picking up an apple, staring at it, putting it back. He'll do the same with oranges, with some bananas...]

[phone - filtered from drones]
I guess school is supposed to start in a few weeks. I got asked by a few drones if I was ready for it, anyway -- and I've got to admit, I'm not. What are some things I should know before classes start?

When do classes start at Mayfield Elementary, anyway? [Elementary school. Elementary school. He has no idea how he's going to deal with being in grade school, but if he's got to go, he wants to go without screwing it up.]

[action - evening; Stone Street]
[As the sun's starting to set and the temperature also begins to cool down, Czeslaw steps outside his house and sits on the edge of the sidewalk, book in hand. He's also watching anyone or anything -- cars, animals, what have you -- go past, wondering if it's okay to appreciate the quiet, orderly peacefulness of the town. And wondering exactly when and how Mayfield will become the dangerous place he was warned about a month ago.

He eventually closes his book and starts drawing on the sidewalk with a box of chalks he also brought outside with him.

Approach?]

[ooc: Post! But it's starting to get late out night and I have someplace to go in the morning, so tags will come late evening tomorrow!]

[Phone]

Good morning. I know many of you are new in town, and may not be familiar with much of the technology here. If you aren't, please be careful when you leave the house; there are 'cars' [the quote around the word is audible] on the streets, and they can be very harmful in the event of a collision. Any healing abilities you may have back home are unfortunately gone, so please make sure you watch out for yourself, as much as that's possible in this town.

[The worst part is that he sounds completely earnest.]

[Action-- used car lot]

[There is a reason he's decided that he's a car expert, and that's because he's finally getting the hang of his job-- not the lying or anything like that, but at least how to talk about them and how to make them move.]

[He's showing off a car now, actually! And he drives it like a 16-year-old who just passed the written part of the test and has never actually been behind the wheel, but that doesn't stop him from getting out and patting the car like he just did something impressive.]

As you can see, it's a very--

[and then a spark jumps from his hand to the car and suddenly the whole thing is crackling with lightning]

...Ah.

Edward Nigma | The Riddler
11 August 2012 @ 11:22 pm
Riddle 045: Could you repeat the question?
[My, oh my. Where does the time go?

As it turns out, Mayfield had taken away more than Edward Nigma's life this time around. He had also lost a month. A month that could have been spent productively, actively searching for the answers that this town was oh-so-unwilling to yield. Still, he supposes it could have been worse. They could have left him for dead this time.

But they decided to bring Edward back. And Ema along with him.

So, question: What next?

Answer: Pick up the pieces.

ACTION - AROUND TOWN, LEADING UP TO 726 ANDERSON LANE

You may catch the Riddler wandering around Mayfield throughout the day as if trying to discover something, anything out of place. Though he'll spend most of his time investigating the town at large, he does have a final destination in mind: his old abode, 726 Anderson Lane. He's headed there for a few key reasons.
  • If anything crucial has happened in the past month or so, there's a good chance that Susan, Luke, or Slugger will be able to get him up to speed.
  • He'll be able to piece together his old notes once again, if they're still where he left them in the lair underground.
  • All of his things are still there. At least, he hopes they are. For whatever odd reason, the town had decided not to bring any of Edward's suits, equipment, or question-mark-themed doodads over to his new home at 462 Stone. Meaning that, if they haven't disappeared altogether, they must still be at his old home.
Once he makes it to 726 Anderson, he'll try walking through the front door. ...Only to find that it's locked. He'd reach into his pocket and get out the key, only he doesn't have one to this house anymore.]

Oh, for the love of---

[Don't tell him he has to break into his old house.

...He's going to have to break into his old house. Terrific.

Well, he might as well see if the back door is unlocked, at least. He wanders around the side of the house but stops in his tracks as soon as he makes it into the backyard.

Someone appears to have stuck a familiar-looking cane into the ground... Who could have---?

Don't be stupid, Edward. Do you even need to ask?]

((OOC: Tags will likely be coming tomorrow! Thank you for your patience.))
