1. Bakery
( Spain thought he would stop by the bakery! Mostly he just wanted to see if his friends were working today but while he's here, he might as well buy some things to take home too. )

2. Phone call
( Today was bath day for Toro but it looks like after days of being penned up, the last thing Toro wanted to do was stay still and take a bath. Some time in the afternoon, an awkward phone call goes out, )

Has anyone seen a bull? He's harmless, really. But if you have, let me know.

ooc: Toro's most likely just trampling on some flower gardens or something harmless. If you leave Toro alone, he'll leave you alone! Spain has trained him (relatively) well, so it's very well behaved around women and children. But any guys that try to bother him might get chased around a bit. Your move.

3. 1129 Taylor
( After finally getting Toro back, Spain and Toro can be found in the front yard. Toro is huffing rather loudly and kicking at the ground as Spain gets things ready. )

C'mon, Toro, I promise the water isn't too cold.

Quest Eleven: All work and no play
[Phone]

Whoever picks what regains we get. Thanks. I really needed a piece of paper that means nothing here. Thanks a lot.

[Charon's contract, which yes, was a nice reminder of home. Not really that useful.]

On a totally unrelated note, does anyone here know how to cross-stitch? And would be willing to teach me?

[A. Mae is plying her trade as a walking make-up saleswoman so. ...Knocking on your door or waving you over if you walk by her on the streets.

B. Oh you have a drone wife in the house? Mae is talking to them inside your house as her sales pitch. Also pocketing a few things, like....bobby pins...and money and ...bottlecaps? Shh...she's going unnoticed by the drone woman, feel free to spot her though.

C. April....April. Mae is knocking on your door. Because she's bored and is dragging you out to do something.]

Pokey Minch

67th - Action
[Pokey was getting used to the fact that he didn't recognize much of the crap the town kept sending him. He supposed it made sense, since he didn't have that much left back from home he could get after two years of being trapped in town. And in the end, maybe it would give him some idea what he would end up like in the future beyond what he knew so far. Any kind of clue would, in its own way, be welcome.

He's kind of surprised to find a film reel as his next regain. He has no clue why he would have one. Sure, he loved movies, but the idea of actually making one had never really crossed his mind. But there was a first time for everything, and while he doesn't have the equipment to play a film reel at his own house he does know a place where he could play it. Even if it would be stupid to do so without knowing what's actually on the film before doing so.

But hey. How bad could it be.]

[Action - Atomic Cinema]

[If you happen to go to the theater today, you're going to be treated to something far different from usual.

Instead of the movies that the theater is renown for playing over and over again, relics from the 1950s and generic ones at that, the film currently playing seems far newer. The story of it seems basic enough, if a bit weird: four children with special skills are chosen to save the world from an alien threat planning to invade Earth. Throughout their adventure the children encounter several creatures and people - some benevolent, others malevolent, and all of them quirky and weird in their own way as the children grow in their own way as they head to their final battle with an alien warlord at the beginning of time.

It's cheesy, and quirky, and in its own weird way seems as if it would fit in with the movies of the 50s in its own weird way. And at the same time it's clear that whoever made the film put an incredible amount of care in it. As weird and kooky as it might be, the story is one that was apparently captured and filmed as well as possible. Filmed as if it had some kind of meaning beyond just being a story to whoever made it.

One other thing that might be worth noting.

One of the main villains of the story is, in fact, another child. A lonely, mean-spirited bully of a boy who gets progressively worse as the story goes on. A boy who goes simply from sneaking out at night to lying to joining a cult and kidnapping to participating in political corruption to finally betraying his own world and race by working with the alien forces that want to take his home over.

Considering his blue skin and general temperament, the boy is pretty easily identifiable as Pokey himself for those who know him. And for those who don't, it won't be too hard to identify the bad boy when they see him seated in one of the theater seats, quietly just watching the movie until it finishes, before getting up again.

Even then, Pokey just looks at the blank screen for a moment before heading out to the lobby and leaning against one of the walls, blank-faced and thinking. Which he doesn't do for long.

Soon, he heads back up to the projector room and just starts the movie over again. And again. Throughout the entire day. He's watched it four times at least by now. What would be a fifth.]

Pranking! [Way backdated to April 2nd]
[Prank:] For Mao [profile] oathofademon

[Aya carefully sets down a pot of flowers, just enough so that the pot has enough room for the hose hidden inside of it, and so that it didn't fall off the step. He rings the doorbell before bolting to the side of the house, where the pipe to turn on the hose is located. He turns the knob, but holds onto the hose to prevent the water from gushing out just yet.]

[Action]

[There seems to be a sale on toilet paper, so Aya is stocking up on them, since the entire house was void of it thanks tot he last prank on him.]

[849 Goldberg]

[The door opens, but only partially. A foot kicks it open gently so that he could step through. His arms are full of toilet paper and paper towels.]

Cain Knightlord

018 Crossroads of the Future
[A: Just outside 1648 Albright Lane (Open to Housemates and anyone passing by)]

[Cain was more than used to these packages on the doorstep every so often, and he knew that they always seemed to contain books now. It made sense, he wasn't a superpowered creature like some of those trapped here, all the possessions he had left to come from home were books. So he's not even taking the package inside before he opens it, just ripping it open on the steps and looking inside eagerly to see what extra reading material he had gained.

Except... he hadn't.

There was a pair of gold-rimmed glasses made for a head just slightly bigger than his own, glasses he had already seen the replica of on his brother's nose. Sitting slowly on the steps in front of the house, he turned them over thoughtfully in his hands. What did this mean? Was it a sign from the town that his future was set in stone?]

[B: John Doe Park (Open to All)]

[Feeling defiant (and perhaps a little scared) at the perceived message from the town, Cain was more determined than ever not to dance on someone else's strings. In a rare act of disobedience for him, partially to prove that he could behave in a manner contrary to what people expected of him, that nothing was set in stone, Cain has skipped school this morning.

He's sat in John Doe Park with a few tools he's taken from the garage, because naturally every ten year old should play with saws and hammers. He's managed to get a couple of branches from somewhere and is working on making them into something - he's making quite a racket and there's mess of wood shavings all over the grass.]

[C: High School (Open to All)]

[Having finished making his stilts, Cain is wobbling into the high school dressed in some of the clothes Mayfield had provided for Abel. He's doing his best to look like an ordinary teenager and NOT like a kid on stilts - he's conducting an experiment to see if the drones will notice and throw him out, or if they'll accept his story that he's just another new student in school.

If you're walking down the corridor, please don't mind if Cain accidentally bumps into you and then wobbles off unsteadily. There's nothing weird to see here, not at all.]

[D: Phone (Open to All)]

[Carrying on with his defiant theme, as well as giving into a secret desire to have things that a lot of other kids had back home, Cain is contemplating how responsible it might be to get a pet.]

I know there's a pet store here in town, but... because of the nature of this town, and not knowing one day to the next if we'll still be here, do you think it would be cruel to take on the responsibility of an animal's care?

Corran Horn

2nd [Action/Phone]
[Action/723 Anderson]

[At 723 Anderson, Corran finds a familiar silver cylinder in his mailbox.

Oh yeah.

He pulls it out carefully and gives it a look up and down before even considering to flick the enticing switch that's on the cylinder.]

Can't be...

...then again, I can't imagine that many people telling something untrue so, well, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

[Flicking the switch, the silvery blade of the lightsaber flares into existence with its characteristic snap-hiss. Corran throws it through a few loops and moves, the blade whooshing and humming along the way. Then he twists the handle and the blade grows to three times it's normal length.]

That's more like it. Looks like they even fixed the burnt out crystal inside too. [A few more swings.] Yeah, now we're talking. I just need some more practice...

Lucas

was i surprised when lightning struck
[action, outside 846 Goldberg]
[Here is Lucas examining his latest regain. He doesn't remember this.  When had he ever owned a statue of a giant Mr. Saturn head? Beside him, the walking tea table somehow manages to convey an attitude of dejection by sinking its hind legs, like a dog being ignored in favor of a new pet.]

Is this Kumatora's? ...I almost wish a Mr. Saturn would come keep us company. They were kinda cute.  You know.  In a... Mr. Saturn sort of way.

[Pat pat. Lucas reaches up and twangs the single stalk of hair before patting the thing on the forehead; as he does so, the side of the vehicle peels open with a whoosh.]

Huh?

[action, around town, with Kumatora]
[There is a giant head flying down the streets of Mayfield. It is pink. It is also hovering. The Mr. Saturn New and Improved Pork and Beans Hovercraft [Way Better than Porky's Lame-o Pieces of Junk] wobbles perilously in every direction as it bounces, glides, and rolls its way through Mayfield. Somehow, miraculously, it always gains enough height to sail over every car it would crash into. Inside, Lucas frantically presses every button and pulls every lever he can.  Often simultaneously.]

W-Why did they change all the controls in this?!  Augh, look out!

[It clips a tree and proceeds to launch itself twenty feet into the air.  It was a glorious day for the realization of Mr. Saturn dreams.  Maybe this wasn't flight, exactly, but hovering was pretty close.]

((Responses to this prompt now will get Kumatora as well!))

[action, malt shop]
[Late afternoon, Lucas enters for his daily milkshake with a bandage around his head and a limp.  He'd run out of PSI healing himself from his multiple wrecks.  Full recovery would have to wait until tomorrow morning.  Outside, the large pink head continues to hover placidly, completely unscathed.]

...Could I get extra whipped cream on top today?  I think I need it.

03 ~*~ Home is where you bury your dead
[ 436 Peepers St. : Morning : Open ]
[ You would think that retrieving one's own gravestone would be the cause for alarm, or at least grief. On the contrary, Yoshika is clinging to the freshly unwrapped stone block with such a huge smile on her face that you would think she had won it at a raffle or something.

While her mind may be scattered, and she forgets a lot of things, there is one thing that is rarely far from her thoughts:

Home. ]

[ Phone : Open ]
You knoooow...? [ For a second, it's as if she was going to just stop there. No one reasonable would trail off like that, would they? ]

This town could really learn a thing or two about reviving bodies from Lady Seiga. I died twice already and I feeeelt really icky afterwards. It's not supposed to be like that!!! [ Yes, the regain reminded her of something she meant to comment on weeks ago, but got distracted from. ]

[ 436 Peepers St. : Nighttime : Open ]
[ Yoshika is nowhere to be seen. The headstone sits in the yard, unattended, with nothing but a fresh track of dirt in the grass showing where it was pushed into place.

And that's all there is to it. But there's something odd about that track of dirt, isn't there? Maybe it's worth inspecting... ]
