1st Spellcard: Transcendence of Faith "Armed Only With Prayer"

(Greetings, housemates! You have a new daughter/sister in your home who's understandably worried about her new location and the loss of her powers; unlike typical Mayfield newbies, however, Reimu here has gone and pretty much littered decorated the entire house with paper charms to ward off the evil that brought her here. You just might see her writing up a few more charms or hanging up the finished ones, but she's taking as much of her shrine as she can into this new place.)

Action B: Outside 842 Hastings; Open to all

(With the house now buried protected by charms and seals, Reimu, in an unfortunately gray plaid dress, sits outside her home in a state of meditation and prayer. With her hair bow gone, her long hair flowed with the wind. While she should investigate the area, the lack of her power and even her normal clothes made her feel vulnerable. With her shrine gone (again), the yin-yang orbs missing and the Hakurei border nowhere nearby, Reimu resorted to prayer as her only means of leveling her mind so she could think rationally.

Translation: this is the best time to annoy her and disrupt her with whatever you want. Fellow Touhou girls are more than welcome to taunt greet her and tease comfort her regarding the formerly powerful miko of Hakurei losing everything but her sense of self.)

I'll try not to, but I suppose their donations can have as much value as anyone else's.

So this is a restricted Gensokyo? That makes a lot of sense, but to even part me away from the shrine? It'll fall apart without me!

There is debate on whether you are really removed from Gensokyo. Either through time having no meaning while here... or another reason.

[She could try and explain her theory but she doubted Reimu would understand it.]

Either way it is more productive to learn of what this place is and adapt to it than worry of home right now. There are more concerning matters than what is happening without us.

I haven't heard exactly what this place is capable of, but I hear it's nothing short of torturous. Has this place even gotten to you, Yama?

I have been rather fortunate as far as my experiences here. However consider this, when I arrived I was human and without any of my possessions. This place has a power that can defy even the Ten Kings. That is a great and troubling feat.

(Great and troubling indeed. If they could do this to the Yama, then Reimu stood no chance.)

Then this is a power far greater than anything I've ever heard of. At least there's hope for all of us if they do eventually return our things, but is doing so such a good idea if they intend on trapping us? It smells of deception and counter-productivity.

They will return out things, but they can also take them away whenever they feel like. It's as if the rules of the world are not what they should be. The one thing we can do is try and learn all we can of this place.

For a world to exist where justice and fairness are nonexistent and even deciders of judgment are brought down to everyone else's level...

...just what kind of foe are we dealing with?

A complicated and mysterious one. One that requires research and investigation to beat, not your regular tactics.

But my regular tactics brought me this far!

...Then again, Yukari or Byakuren didn't humanize the Yama. If it helps, I can't necessarily get into trouble without my powers.

Your powers will return with time, but... perhaps this will be a good learning experience. Humbling maybe.

And what kind of learning experience do you have in mind?

One of patience and the lesson that might is not always right.

But that sounds really hard...and I have yet to confirm if my charms are actually having any effect. I'll need proper defenses if I can't fight head-on anyway, so these are all I have.

I'm not sure a charm simply written will work without the spiritual power to put in it. But it might. However, I doubt there are many things that would be affected by it other than youkai. I would suggest in the event of a conflict you go to Marisa while you are in this state.

That sounds like a good plan.

I guess it'll take a while to get used to being "normal." Any advice on getting adjusted?

Caution is your friend, and if you are very desperate you can trade for skills and items. However I advice against that. Using the telephone is a good method for communication and can be directed towards specific people, I would get used to it's function. Also if you ever need me you can find me at 5724 Cunningham Lane, or use the phone. But I'm sure you can manage well enough with a little time to get used to your surroundings.

Oh, one last question! Does this town stock up on tea? I'm not a big fan of coffee and orange juice just isn't the same.

There's one inside the house. I'm sure if you ask Marisa can show you how to use it.

Yes, you can get tea. Though you may be limited in the varieties offered, and they may be a bit different from what you're used to.

Perhaps not as good as what I have back home, but there being tea at all is a great help.

[Well, it was better than nothing, even if it wasn't sincere. With that Eiki simply heads off, she could fly or simply teleport but walking was much nicer. She had some errands to run for her house anyway.]
