[Ever since being taken to the factory and operated on, Lion has been scarce. Mainly because the operation locked him inside his own mind, believing that he was back home on the island of Rokkenjima with the dead bodies of his family and friends washing up on the beaches. He hasn't been able to see, hear or feel anything that's been going on in Mayfield.

Today, though, the nightmare has finally ended. Instead of being trapped on the abandoned island with no way of escape, Lion finds himself back in his assigned house in Mayfield, where he had eventually ended up by a stroke of luck. He feels dazed and rather tired, but he still picks up the phone. No use being kept in the dark.]

My apologies...but can anyone tell me what the current situation is? It looks like things have gone back to normal from what I can see, but I think I've missed several days here. I...suppose you could say my mind was elsewhere.

Well, there was this crazy doctor who went around operating on people. A lot of her surgeries were painful and unnecessary. And then I got turned into a cyborg vampire.

[Not by the same person that had operated on the other people, but by another equally mad scientist.]

So I was locked up in my basement a lot.

[It was because of the bloodlust. If he hadn't locked himself in the basement, then he could have easily lost control and drained innocent people. Speaking of that, he still had to find some way to control those urges.]

And then two days ago, my assigned wife started destroying my living room. It turns out all we had to do to stop the mad scientist from operating on people was to destroy as much property as possible. Everyone was running around destroying stuff, but we all stopped around mindnight. Then, the next day, the surgery victims finally started healing. That's all I know.

Yes, I was operated on myself. That's why I don't know anything that's been going on.

Yeah, it was awesome! We had bonfires and explosions and things getting thrown all over the place. I don't think there was a building left untouched except for the hospital. Ooh, there was even a demon.

[A demon that he, overwhelmed by his hunger, had tried to drain.]

That's good to hear. As far as I saw it was nothing but mayhem, and the things that woman said over the phones...if anything, it seems pretty clear that we shouldn't go after the machine if the dairy ever opens again.

...yes, I think getting some rest would be a good idea. I've never taken a day off from work here before...hopefully there won't be consequences.

Many people died, many more were in agony for days, our captors were annoyingly smug about it all, and now we are to pretend that it never happened. The usual as far as I can tell. You seem well, at least.

We certainly can't pretend all of that never happened. Not with the consequences for breaking the machine...

There was a machine in the dairy that someone destroyed. Apparently it was what lets us revive every time someone dies here, and our captors weren't too happy about that. So this woman...she took people to a factory and experimented on them, claiming that this was to help fix the machine.

Yes, thankfully everything seems to be back to normal for now. [ he's noticed Shiki is okay too again, after all, and she had been affected by the experiments.. ]

Yes, I'm fine, thank you. A bit shaken, I suppose, but that's probably the case for everybody.
