Thirteenth Miracle

[Ever since being taken to the factory and operated on, Lion has been scarce. Mainly because the operation locked him inside his own mind, believing that he was back home on the island of Rokkenjima with the dead bodies of his family and friends washing up on the beaches. He hasn't been able to see, hear or feel anything that's been going on in Mayfield.

Today, though, the nightmare has finally ended. Instead of being trapped on the abandoned island with no way of escape, Lion finds himself back in his assigned house in Mayfield, where he had eventually ended up by a stroke of luck. He feels dazed and rather tired, but he still picks up the phone. No use being kept in the dark.]

My apologies...but can anyone tell me what the current situation is? It looks like things have gone back to normal from what I can see, but I think I've missed several days here. I...suppose you could say my mind was elsewhere.

We certainly can't pretend all of that never happened. Not with the consequences for breaking the machine...

Of course, but I'm sure they would prefer us all forget that this town has been dealt quite a blow.

I saw what they did to some of the others. 'Horrific', I think, is a good word for it. I will understand if you need more time to... recover.

"Horrific" is definitely the right word for it. I remember seeing some people who were operated on at the factory, and... [Yeah, Lion doesn't want to talk about it much.]

I think I will take a day or two off to recover, yes.
