[Chell opens the door to find 3 packages of varying sizes, one small and rather flat, one medium-large one, and one quite large one of a suspicious size.

She opens the small one first to find her clothes from Aperture. She doesn't plan on wearing them again, but they could come in handy later, you never know. The next one contains her portal gun. She hasn't seen many places that portals could be placed on, but if there were any, it'd be very useful.

Finally, Chell turns to the last one. It's about as tall as a turret, so that's what's got her worried. It's a bit wider, though, so she's not sure what to make of that. She circles the box, knocking on it to see if she can get any information that way.

She assumes that if it was a turret, the gun portion would be facing towards the door, so she tips the box over so that if there was a turret inside, it'd now be facing the ground instead.

Chell pries the box open and discovers that not only is it a turret, but it's the oversized turret that she had seen a few times. It had never attacked her or anyone else that she saw, it just somehow used the elevator and oversaw some of the other turrets when they were making music.

It's an odd choice of something to be returned to her, so she shrugs, just leaves it where it is, and goes back inside the house.

She sets her clothes on the Companion Cube, and when she turns around, the turret is standing in front of her. Chell dives beside the couch and peers around at the turret. The turret doesn't make any movements, it doesn't even have a red laser sight for targeting, it just stands there, staring blankly.

Chell waves her hand at the turret, and it still doesn't move. She shrugs to herself and stands up, walking past it and over to the curtains. She turns her back to the turret and pulls off a long strip of cloth and goes to work using it as a strap for the portal gun. She doesn't want to leave it in the house alone with Cliff and carrying it with her hands would get old, so this was a nice compromise.

When she turns around to head for the door, once more the turret stands staring at her. Chell frowns at it and decides that if anyone would know what's going on, it'd be GLaDOS.

She leaves the house and heads down the street.]

Action - Around Town - The streets on the way to 1450 Mitchell Road

[If you're walking down the street or peeking out a window, you may see Chell being followed by a large turret. You never see the turret move, however, if you take your eyes off of it for even a second, it'll suddenly be further down the street and closer to Chell.]

Action - 1450 Mitchell Road

[Chell finally arrives at GLaDOS' house and starts banging on the door, she's got a frustrated expression on her face as she does so.

The turret is waiting quietly behind her and may not be seen at first glance.]

[Chell nods and writes down, "Sounds like a good plan."

After several moments, she writes down below that, "Wonder how far I can get away from it, before it'd appear behind me again."]

Well, we're a good few blocks. Let's turn a corner and see what it does when we're out of sight.

[Chell quickly scribbles down, "Okay. Here's hoping it stays in the tree."

She had a feeling it wouldn't, based on her previous experiences with the turret, but it hadn't been trapped before, so maybe she'd get lucky this time.]

*He walked around the corner, getting a good ways down the block before glancing back.*

[Chell followed him, walking with purpose. As soon as they couldn't see the turret anymore, it silently popped in behind Chell.

After several feet, she looked behind her and discovered that her follower had returned.

Chell rolls her eyes and shakes her head in annoyance.

The turret was nearly as tenacious as she was.]

Well, I suppose the bright side is it ain't doing anything. 'cept being a pest.

Maybe we oughtta take it to th' shop an' take it apart.

[Chell thinks this over, then writes down, "That could work, we'll have to knock it over before we can open it up."

Most turrets were stuffed to the brim with bullets and they were very good at dispensing them. She's surprised that this one hasn't decided to shoot her in the back yet.]

[Chell looks serious as she carefully writes, "Usually they shoot anything that moves. They deactivate when knocked over."]

That's an odd way t' make a sentry. Why can't it shoot when it's on its side?

[Chell shrugs and writes down a response, "I don't know. Once they're knocked over, they fire erratically, then shut down. My guess is that they'd prefer their test subjects to stay alive, if they can."]

Roight. Test subjects.

*Something that makes him intensely uncomfortable to think about.*

Then why fire on 'em at all?

[Chell thinks this over, tapping the pen on the paper before finally writing, "I think it's to see if we were smart enough to figure out how to get around them."]

They must go through a bloody lot 'f people then. Th' hell are they testing at this place?

[Chell nods in agreement, then writes down, "When I was there, the portal gun. But there were a bunch of different things in the past."]

What's a portal?

[Chell writes down, "It's sort of a doorway. You put two in different places and you can pass between them."]

Sounds handy. I suppose you don't got that contraption here?

[Chell nods and tucks the notebook under one arm, then uses both her hands to lift the portal gun up from where it was hanging on a makeshift strap off her shoulder.

There was no way she was going to leave it at home for Cliff to get his hands on it.]

Hn. Don't look like much. Don't really look like a gun neither. Least not one I've ever seen.

Could ya use it on the gizmo followin' us?

[Chell puts the gun back down at her side and retrieves the notebook.

She then writes, "It only works on flat concrete surfaces. It'd also leave two portals somewhere around town. The turret follows me no matter what."]

Guess that's somethin' that's more useful back home. Like my camper. Nice t' have, but don't really need it when I've got my own house.

[Chell nods, then scribbles down, "There isn't many places in town that it works on, but you never know when it might come in handy."]

That was a pretty good idea, really, it'd make the stupid thing actually useful.]
