[Kono's back in Mayfield - and she shoots up in bed, gasping for air.  She's obviously disoriented, eyes darting around the room wildly as she tries to control her panic.  She was just drowning, and now she's in bed?

It won't take her long to make the horrible realization that she's back in Mayfield.  Somehow, that seems worse than drowning. 

This house doesn't seem exactly the same as she remembers, so she's going to look around a bit.  She has a shell-shocked expression on her face.  How can she be back?]


[Action B - John Doe Park, early afternoon]
[Funny how things repeat themselves.  Kono found herself sitting on this same bench the day she first arrived in Mayfield.  She's sitting, brooding and slumped down.  Feel free to stop to talk to her or try to cheer her up.  She'll talk if you make the effort.]

This is Kono.  Back again, apparently.  How much has happened since I was gone?  Has anybody figured out anything else about how Mayfield works?

Please tell me there weren't any more zombies.

I'm not sure, but it appeared to be an airborne virus. They were a great deal harder to kill this time as well.

[Olivier notices her brooding on the bench and approaches. She's not exactly glad to see her brooding, but it does mean she's not droned anymore.]

Somehow, yeah. I'm back. I'd almost convinced myself this was nothing more than a really weird, long dream. I guess not. Maybe it still is, I don't know.

It seems a bit elaborate, even for a dream. At first I thought I was drugged out of my mind, because my last memories were of being dragged to the hospital after a long battle.

[Swinging by, Peter sees an old face in the park and does what he always does: ignore it. That's what he's done every other time he saw Kono. Droned, chipper, soulless and a living reminder of his failure, and a grim reminder of the permanence of Mayfield. He shakes his head and whizzes past her, angry energy making him swing faster. He can't even ignore her well, let alone help her.]

[Kono notices something swinging above, which breaks her out of her brood. Looking up, she recognizes the suit immediately. She stands up to greet him, but he whizzes by her. She feels her heart sink a bit - did he not see her? Or did he forget about her? He can't be droned if he's swinging through the park.

At least, she's pretty sure about that.

Worried, she calls out to him.]

[ It feels a little nostalgic seeing her sitting there on the same bench as when he first met her. ]
