[Kono's back in Mayfield - and she shoots up in bed, gasping for air. She's obviously disoriented, eyes darting around the room wildly as she tries to control her panic. She was just drowning, and now she's in bed?

It won't take her long to make the horrible realization that she's back in Mayfield. Somehow, that seems worse than drowning.

This house doesn't seem exactly the same as she remembers, so she's going to look around a bit. She has a shell-shocked expression on her face. How can she be back?]

[Action B - John Doe Park, early afternoon]
[Funny how things repeat themselves. Kono found herself sitting on this same bench the day she first arrived in Mayfield. She's sitting, brooding and slumped down. Feel free to stop to talk to her or try to cheer her up. She'll talk if you make the effort.]

This is Kono. Back again, apparently. How much has happened since I was gone? Has anybody figured out anything else about how Mayfield works?

Please tell me there weren't any more zombies.

Last time I just went to sleep and woke up here. This time... this time I was pushed overboard on a shit, bound. I was drowning, and then next thing I know I wake up here. Again.

Maybe this is hell? Feels like hell.

Some people have just woken up here after falling asleep. I don't think it's hell. I don't think hell would allow people to have their things from home, or be run as poorly as this town is at times.

[In spite of herself, Kono lets out a laugh.]

Yeah, pretty obvious who's in charge in hell, right? Although this comes close to my own personal hell, I guess. Landlocked, no control over what's going on...

Hey, do you still have bingo nights? Bingo's the game, right?

I have a feeling it might be a good thing we're landlocked, just imagine everything they could do to us with an ocean.

Yeah, I lost one of my head organizers though. So it's going a bit slower than I'd like.

Well, yeah. Oceans can be pretty destructive.

Mmm, that's too bad. I'd love to come by to play next time you have a game, whenever that might be.

There was the time when people were in the wrong bodies, the prank wars, men acting like the perfect husband, sons, friends on Mother's Day, a prom, and a blue flower that made things embarrassing happen to people who smelled it.

Wow. I missed a lot. Never a dull moment around here...

And when there are, we need to take advantage of them.

Are you back in the same house, or did you get moved?

I'm still on Stone Street, but a couple houses down from where I was. I'm in 460 with Peter Parker.

Peter Parker. The only thing I know about him is that he teaches at the school. He isn't causing you any trouble is he?

Oh, no. No trouble at all. He was actually a friend from my first time here. He's a good ally too. I might drag him to Bingo Night, when you have it.

Good. I wouldn't want any of my friends stuck with unbearable housemates. Have you been assigned a new job?

I don't know yet. I didn't even check. Last time I worked in the office building... mind numbingly boring. I did get really good at sharpening pencils though.

[She chuckles.]

I guess you could use them as a weapon if you really had to.

I found they made pretty good darts. I had a whole bunch of them in the ceiling above my desk.

That defenseless ceiling never had a chance, did it?

No way. Gave me something to do other than refill coffee cups.

Well, you could have accidentally spilled those if you were bored enough.

Oooo, good idea if I end up back there.

It's not like they'll fire you, but I'd try not to do it too often, just to be on the safe side.

Everything in moderation, right? I use that philosophy for actually going to work. Just enough to not get in trouble.

Yes, moderation. And trust me, you don't want to get droned for not going to work.

I don't plan on it. It'd be horrible.
