5723 Cunningham: Closed to Household

[Tsubaki made doughnuts, and she sits in the kitchen waiting nervously for one Tony Stark to join her, so she can apologize for his missing liquor. She hadn't known he was going to take it, but she's made up her mind to tell him it was her fault, and that she'll do extra chores or something to make up for it.]

[She'll look up as each person enters the kitchen, both hoping it's Tony, and hoping it's not.]

That wasn't very nice of you, even if he's part of an elitist group. I just hope you didn't drink it all in one night.

[She's also kind of worried since she saw him go into the dairy, and wants to make sure he's okay.]

[Mayfield High]

[Halls]

[Tsubaki has a couple of giant pink boxes stacked up in her hands. If she sees a familiar face, or someone asks about said boxes, the will receive a hand made doughnut. She hopes they help people brighten up after that radio announcement]

[Spiderman's Chemistry Class]

[With all the talk of doughnuts, she figured she might as well make extra ones to take in to class since she was making some as an apology to Tony. So, before class starts, she will be giving out doughnuts to her classmates, and teacher, as long as he doesn't already have one, that is.]

No, not tense, maybe a little tired. I couldn't sleep with the phone ringing off the hook last night. So, I thought I'd try making doughnuts.

[On the one hand, she knows how good his senses are. If she's going to try and blatantly lie, it's because she really doesn't want him to know]

[On the other hand, with the way he woke up...]

[And then there was a Black☆Star crouched on the table in front of her, peering into her face]

You're not sick, right?

[She leans back just a bit.]

S-sick? Why would I be sick?

[He stares for another moment before nodding, seemingly satisfied, and jumping off to her side of the table lightly, taking a seat next to her]

Just checking. If you say nothing's wrong, then nothing's wrong.

[And, it's when he believes her that she breaks. She looks at the doorway one more time before telling him what's wrong.]

All of Tony's liquor is gone, and it's my fault.

[He can't help but grin as he leans back in his chair. That's all it is.]

That's what's got you upset? Relax! That idiot can go a day or two without that stuff making him even dumber.

[She smiles for a moment, then frowns.]

I, uhm, you think so? But won't he be mad?

So what? If he tries to do anything to you, I'll just crush him.

[And though the matter is closed in his mind, especially with that emphatic nod he just gave, curiosity wins out]

What happened?

[She considers not telling the complete truth, but is sure he'll notice she's leaving things out.]

I was helping someone, and he decided to play a trick on Tony. I went to go get aspirin for his headache and he was gone when I came back...with all of the liquor.

If you're that worried, I could just go beat the guy up and take the liquor back. I don't mind, if it's to help you.

[She shakes her head.]

I don't think that would really help. I'm just gonna tell him I was looking for something and broke it.

[He glances sidelong at her with a sly smile on his face]

Lying to authority? That's new for you. You sure you're not sick?

[And once more he's all up in her business, this time with his hands on her face]

[She a light chuckle and tries to shake her head, but can't with his hands on her face.]

I just don't want him to go hunt the guy down. He seems nice enough, but people like Tony weren't very nice to him back home.

[His mind briefly flashes to thanksgiving and the moment they shared, especially as he swallows something down roughly, but the motion of his throat is the only sign of something wrong as he removes himself from his partner's face]

Well if that idiot tries something stupid, we'll beat him up. Problem solved, right?

I don't think that's a very good idea. We do have to live with him, so that might create more problems.

So what? If we have to live with the jerk I'm not about to let him think he can push us around whenever he wants! No one's going to bully my partner, got it?!

[She sighs.]

Just let me apologize, I'm sure everything will be fine after that. He's not really that bad of a guy, at least, he doesn't seem it.

But, if it comes to it, we can take him.

[He nods, satisfied enough as he swallows again]

Alright, that's good enough for me. Just don't let him push you around. You're the weapon of a huge star, so have a little pride!

[And as he nods she notices something on his lip.]

Black☆Star, you have frosting on your lip.

[She grabs a napkin and reaches to dab it away.]

[He doesn't have to look to know what it is - he can feel it, and it's his own damn fault for not doing something sooner. One hand catches her wrist as her hand approaches his face, while the other takes the napkin from her]

Thanks, but I got it.

[And he turns away from her, wiping the blood away as he walks the few steps towards the trash can, crumpling the napkin and depositing it within]

[Her eyes go wide as he catches her wrist, and the tone in his voice makes her wonder if she did something wrong. Maybe she mothered him too much.]

I-I'm sorry. I won't do that again.

[He turns back to her with a grin, feeling just a shade of guilt]

It's just embarrassing! Cleaning off someone's lip is supposed to be the lead in to a romance scene, and I haven't even brushed my teeth yet. I know, any girl would be lucky to even get NEAR these lips, but I'm the man who'll surpass God! I have to have standards!

But your teeth weren't bru...

[She doesn't finish the sentence, thinking back to him telling her not to die was too much.]

I guess my standards will have to be just as high since I'm your partner.

Exactly! That's why we should wait to make out until later.

[She flushes red.]

Y-yeah, some other time.

[Does he know what saying things like that does to her?]

I need to go...make a phone call before school starts.
