Good morning, Mayfield. This is Nanoha Takamachi speaking. [ How formal! But she has a question, so it's only right she does it this way. ] I have a request. I know that we can recover items from home, and such technology was not available in the era this town is modeled after, but does anyone have a more modern television or entertainment system available that I might be able to borrow? It would need to play video discs of DVD quality or higher. I promise to take really good care of it. [ And she is using her mature-but-cheerful voice for this call. ] It would either be that, or I would ask to borrow your property for a time, so that I might show off a film from home. I will even clean up when we are finished.

[ Action : On the streets of Mayfield ]
[ Nanoha is out walking today, dressed simply but outside of Mayfield's usual standards. It's amazing the difference a shorter skirt makes. Those who know her can probably take a guess that her neighbor and friend, Hayate, is the one responsible for this alteration.

The woman is moving with a purpose in mind, but she'll still stop for some pleasant conversation if someone approaches her. ]

[ There is a knock at the door! But this should come to no surprise as she had called ahead the day before to make certain everyone she wanted to see would be here. Nanoha would very much like to meet Fate's assigned "family". No reason they cannot all get along well, right? ]

[Ako is just wandering around when she notices Nanoha there, and raised a hand in greeting.]

Hey.

[ Nanoha slows to a halt and faces the girl. ] Good morning. It's a nice day for a walk, don't you think? [ That might seem like a canned, drone answer, but Nanoha doesn't exactly look the part. What 1950's lady would have a massive side-tail like this? ]

Yeah, it's pretty good. You're the new person down the street right? I'm Ako, one of the Marvelous's. [Well, at least the ones that were left anyhow after a few dronings and what not. Still she tried to force out the niceness despite everything.]

This street? [ Where had she turned, again...? Ah, that's right. ] Not quite, but I am relatively new, still. My name is Nanoha Takamachi — though the plate on the mailbox says "Kurenai". [ Even though her not!husband has been droned for weeks. ]

It is nice to meet you, Ako. I take it that your assigned house is somewhere nearby?

Yeah, the one with the pirate ships. My last name is actually Shirabe but I don't mind my 'parents' anyhow.

[She looked over at the Kurenai house and nodded.] Seems like a mostly lively place.

Ohh, I've seen those from the street before. I was very impressed with the size of the regains this town offers us. [ She mused over the thought of Chrono being here, and one day waking up to find the Claudia parked in his back yard. The thought makes her smile. ]

We try to stay active, Ako. Does this mean you've seen or met Kyouko Sakura and Sayaka Miki before? They are the children in my household. [ Which makes her Mama Bear in the extreme. ]

[She nodded, and thought for a moment.]

I think I've only met them over the phone. Sayaka I think I met and I know I spoke to Kyouko a while ago. But it's been a while. Can't say I'm close to either one.

I see. I admit that I'm not too sure who all call themselves their friends, which is why I was curious.

Ah, makes sense. I'd be wondering too what kind of people they live with anyhow. S'not like I have too many friends here, but I do have good ones. Cain... Vivio...

[ That smile gets just a bit brighter. ] You know my daughter. Then I am even happier to have bumped into you like this. [ In case there were any doubts as to which "Nanoha" Vivio might have ever mentioned before.

...surely she has done that much, hasn't she? ]

Oh, you're her real mom? That's good then. I'm glad you live nearby then. She's a nice girl, Vivio. [And pretty and smart and, well, she could go on for a while about it.]

I would be one of them, yes. [ There is no need, here, to hide anything about Fate's involvement in Vivio's life. She is equally as important, even if official documentation says otherwise. ]

That's cool. Vivio and I just went out for milkshakes recently. We spend the day together once in a while as well. [To Ako, this was normal girl stuff and she was smiling lightly.]

It sounds as if you really know how to fill in for the downtime. That's good! I don't want her to overwork herself too much. I know she worries a lot about her friends here in Mayfield.

I try not to give her too much worry to be honest. And I can take care of myself if the need arises.

You could this particular brand of fretting runs in the family. Though I'm curious as to what you mean. [ Not that she sounds doubtful, but, it's best to know where that confidence is coming from. ]

[In response, two Fairy Tones popped their heads out on either side of her hair.]

She means us, Dodo.

We're her fairy tones Titi.

[Ako sighed.] I'm a magical girl.

[ With brief wide-eyed wonder. ] Oh! Now who do we have, here? [ She easily pushes past the surprise and gives gives Ako's two companions a little wave. ]

[ Though she does give the girl a bit of an odd smile at the revelation. ] Mahou shoujo, hm?

[The Fairy Tones waved, floating into view as Ako sighed at their activities.]

Yeah I'm Mahou shoujo. Though the official term is Legendary Warrior Pretty Cure. There's a lot of legends in our world and the fairy worlds about Pretty Cure, shortened to Precure.

[ With some amusement. ] It sounds excited. Like something from comics or on TV. [ Maybe even something shown around the house from time to time. ]

You don't seem too thrilled about this. [ Which could be a misreading, or could have something to do with what she's already discovered here... ]

[Ako is normally deadpan anyhow, but she does let her emotions show once in a while.]

I'm not too thrilled about living here since December, but I've learned to cope with it. I just wish I could do something more than watching people die around me.

Ah. [ that would explain a few things. Her enthusiasm is somewhat diminished. ] I have yet to meet anyone genuinely happy to be here. You aren't alone in that, at least.

I know. But... I got all my powers back. [Not all of them, Ako. You still have Crescendo Mode to get.]

So I can probably throw an enemy across the city, have them loop around it, and smash them in the face.

That is an impressive amount of strength. I hadn't considered using this world's physics to such an effect. [ Though she way she put her finger to her chin and takes a look around suggests that she is getting ideas... ]

It's how Precure are. We've designed to fight enemies that are several times bigger than we are.
