Good morning, Mayfield. This is Nanoha Takamachi speaking. [ How formal! But she has a question, so it's only right she does it this way. ] I have a request. I know that we can recover items from home, and such technology was not available in the era this town is modeled after, but does anyone have a more modern television or entertainment system available that I might be able to borrow? It would need to play video discs of DVD quality or higher. I promise to take really good care of it. [ And she is using her mature-but-cheerful voice for this call. ] It would either be that, or I would ask to borrow your property for a time, so that I might show off a film from home. I will even clean up when we are finished.

[ Nanoha is out walking today, dressed simply but outside of Mayfield's usual standards. It's amazing the difference a shorter skirt makes. Those who know her can probably take a guess that her neighbor and friend, Hayate, is the one responsible for this alteration.

The woman is moving with a purpose in mind, but she'll still stop for some pleasant conversation if someone approaches her. ]

[ There is a knock at the door! But this should come to no surprise as she had called ahead the day before to make certain everyone she wanted to see would be here. Nanoha would very much like to meet Fate's assigned "family". No reason they cannot all get along well, right? ]

That's cool. Vivio and I just went out for milkshakes recently. We spend the day together once in a while as well. [To Ako, this was normal girl stuff and she was smiling lightly.]

It sounds as if you really know how to fill in for the downtime. That's good! I don't want her to overwork herself too much. I know she worries a lot about her friends here in Mayfield.

I try not to give her too much worry to be honest. And I can take care of myself if the need arises.

You could this particular brand of fretting runs in the family. Though I'm curious as to what you mean. [ Not that she sounds doubtful, but, it's best to know where that confidence is coming from. ]

[In response, two Fairy Tones popped their heads out on either side of her hair.]

She means us, Dodo.

[Ako sighed.] I'm a magical girl.

[ With brief wide-eyed wonder. ] Oh! Now who do we have, here? [ She easily pushes past the surprise and gives gives Ako's two companions a little wave. ]

[ Though she does give the girl a bit of an odd smile at the revelation. ] Mahou shoujo, hm?

[The Fairy Tones waved, floating into view as Ako sighed at their activities.]

Yeah I'm Mahou shoujo. Though the official term is Legendary Warrior Pretty Cure. There's a lot of legends in our world and the fairy worlds about Pretty Cure, shortened to Precure.

[ With some amusement. ] It sounds excited. Like something from comics or on TV. [ Maybe even something shown around the house from time to time. ]

You don't seem too thrilled about this. [ Which could be a misreading, or could have something to do with what she's already discovered here... ]

[Ako is normally deadpan anyhow, but she does let her emotions show once in a while.]

I'm not too thrilled about living here since December, but I've learned to cope with it. I just wish I could do something more than watching people die around me.

Ah. [ that would explain a few things. Her enthusiasm is somewhat diminished. ] I have yet to meet anyone genuinely happy to be here. You aren't alone in that, at least.

I know. But... I got all my powers back. [Not all of them, Ako. You still have Crescendo Mode to get.]

So I can probably throw an enemy across the city, have them loop around it, and smash them in the face.

That is an impressive amount of strength. I hadn't considered using this world's physics to such an effect. [ Though she way she put her finger to her chin and takes a look around suggests that she is getting ideas... ]

It's how Precure are. We've designed to fight enemies that are several times bigger than we are.

Have you encountered any here of that scale? So far, I haven't seen any actual "enemies".

Not really no. There hasn't been any giant enemies. Just psychological and physical horror I've been lucky enough to avoid for the most part.

Hmm. I was afraid of that. It would be easier to fight one over the other for all of us.

It's why I haven't been able to do much. I specialize in fighting monsters, not dealing with horror. Even when there were zombies in town I wound up locked in my room from my 'parents'.

Do you mean drones in your house, or...? [ Wait. Zombies? That's disconcerting. If this were any other day, in any other town, Nanoha might have thought the girl had too strong of an imagination. But, really, she would not put something like that past what she has heard of this place. ]

Ambrosia Gray and Captain Marvelous. They did their best to keep me safe. They're non-drones, and owners of the two pirate ships.

[Ah zombies, the things she missed by being protected by overprotective adults.]

Ah, I see.

It sounds like they took your abilities for granted, however. I'm familiar with that urge, myself, as a parent. [ Her first thought might have been to do the same for Vivio... but she knows that it would have been the wrong move to make. ]

Mmm I guess so. I mean, I do everything in the house since those two are hopeless with housework anyhow. I just haven't hit anything in a while so I was getting antsy.

[Ako sighed a little and realized that she would want Vivio protected too, even though she had a feeling Vivio was tough enough for it.]

Are they at all aware of your potential? You don't seem to be shy with the information at all, considering how much I already know when we've just met.

They are, even though I hid it for a while. A while ago I was more secretive but people have been encouraging me to become more open with it. My friends basically. Friends I don't have back home...

[She sighed a little.] Oh I haven't told Vivio I'm a magical girl yet. I don't know how she'll take it, being normal. [She was under the impression due to the AU virus that the body changed Vivio was due to the town doing its thing.]

[ Nanoha is just wearing the most knowing smile. ] Oh, I have this feeling that she'll be just fine with it. [ She could just outright explain why, but... ] Which reminds me. Recently, she received a gift from home; a movie. You could consider it a good look into the kind of life we have back home. I would like it if you would attend the screening, once I found someplace to air it.

Oh really? Well... I wouldn't mind it actually. If you'll have me after all.

[She wondered just what Vivio got for a movie. It must be important.]
