[ When Toothless wakes up, it doesn't take him long to realize he's not in Berk anymore. Also, there's a doghouse on his back.

Scrambling up, the doghouse topples over, and Toothless turns around in circles. First thing's first, he's going to investigate.

So, household. There's a dragon pressing his face against your windows.

B. Action | John Doe Park

[ Eventually, Toothless gets tired of the house, and decides to search for Hiccup. He finds himself at the park, which is the only place in town, it seems, that has an acceptable amount of room to roam.

Don't mind this slightly agitated dragon tromping around. He's not usually this grumpy, promise. ]

[ That voice--

Toothless whips his head around and stares at Hiccup. Just for a second, though, because then he's bounding toward him.

Oh man, buddy, is he glad to see you. Being in strange places without his human does not sit well with him. ]

[Hiccup is just. He can hardly believe it. It's Toothless.

Toothless is here.

Very slowly, a grin spreads across his face. He doesn't even bother to move as the dragon bounds toward him. He's probably going to end up flat on his back and he doesn't care.]

[ Yep, Toothless is just going to bowl Hiccup over and stand over him with his weird dragon smile on his face.

The idea of Hiccup not being here in this new place occurred to him briefly, and he's glad to see it isn't so. ]

[aaaand yeah that hurts, landing flat on your back, but at this point Hiccup doesn't even care. He's grinning like crazy, just reaching up and scratching Toothless.]

Hey buddy!

[Actually no he's going to go ahead and pull himself up and give Toothless a big hug.]

I missed you, big guy.

[ Missed him? Silly Hiccup, he just saw you yesterday!

But whatever, he'll curl his tail around Hiccup's back anyway. Speaking of, he's not missing his left tail wing anymore! He hasn't even noticed, though. ]

[ Wow, okay dude.

You'd better not start crying.

We are manly men, Hiccup, and manly men don't cry.

But hey, something does seem a little off here. Toothless makes a curious noise and thumps Hiccup's back with his tail. ]

[Oh yeah. Sorry. No crying. Nope. Hiccup pulls back and laughs a little awkwardly.]

Sorry buddy. It's just... it's been kind of a long time for me.

[hasteeth]

[ A long time?

Better start explainin' dude. Toothless sits back on his haunches and puts on an expectant look. Come, tell Dr. Toothless all about it. ]

[Hiccup nods.]

Right. Sorry. Okay so we're in Mayfield, which is this crazy town that... okay no one knows exactly where it is or how it does what it does, but it brings people in from all sorts of different places and times and worlds even. But it's really weird, because when people get brought here, it's like the people back home never know about it.

[He sighs.]

I've been here a year and a half, Toothless. You probably never even knew it, but it's true.

[hasteeth]

[ A year and a half?

Oh.

Well that doesn't sound very fun. Stuck in this town for so long without his dragon. Geez. Better make up for lost time, then.

Briefly, he leans forward to press his nose against Hiccup's shoulder as a comforting gesture. Also as an apology. A 'sorry I was gone so long' type of thing. ]

[Hiccup smiles a little and scratches Toothless on top of his head.]

It's okay, buddy. I'm... I'm glad you're here, even if it means now you're stuck here like the rest of us.

[hasteeth]

[ Hey, Toothless can totally deal with being stuck in this town. Especially if Hiccup's here to keep him company.

He pulls back and sticks his tongue out. This is totally his 'whatev' gesture now. ]

[Hiccup frowns for a moment.]

I'm not sure there's tons of fish here, though... I mean there might be some in the pond, and they might sell fish at the grocery store, but I'd have to check.

[OH GODS WHAT HAS HE DONE]

Whoa! Hey no, buddy, don't look like that, we'll find something for you, I promise.

[ You'd better. Grump grump.

Because it is almost impossible to catch the birds in the trees, and plus, they don't taste very good. Too many feathers. ]

No, it's totally gonna be fine. I mean I could go check the grocery store right now, or we could go check out the pond...

[ Toothless just... side-eyes the pond. Then looks back at Hiccup. Then at the pond. Then at Hiccup.

There is a sea monster in that pond. Did you know that?

[Hiccup slowly follows Toothless' gaze to the pond then looks back at him.]

What? Is there something wrong with it?

[hasteeth]

[ Yes there's something wrong with it. Geez, you've lived here for a year and a half and you haven't checked out the sea monster?

Toothless shakes out his wings to make himself look bigger and makes a sea monster face. What does a sea monster face even look like? ]

[Hiccup jumps back a little. No, he has not ever seen the sea monster. He doesn't check out the pond all that much, okay.]

Whoa! Really? I've... never seen anything in there... but then I don't really spend much time by the pond...

[He eyes the pond curiously.]

[hasteeth]

[ It's big, and green, and it's probably eating all the fish.

Either that, or it's a really large fish itself. Toothless hasn't decided yet.
