#5 - Carnival

[He'd spent a few hours at the Carnival.  Those few hours turned into an entire day of trying to keep people out of the Freak Show and off the rides.  The drones didn't listen at all.]

There is definitely something wrong with that Carnival!  I've never seen--

Nobody should go to it.  Again, nobody should visit the Carnival.  Please don't!

[It's very easy to hear that he's frustrated and basically disturbed by all of it.]

[He'll go to the police station.  If there is another police officer there, he will ask them to help him.  If not, he'll leave.]

Well, it said we can find the answers there...but I think it might have said the Carnival was out to hurt us but everyone heard something different so I'm not sure.

The town can be boring, but this is not a way to help with that boredom!

I'd take boring over deadly any day, thank ya very much. Seriously, what the hell do they think is gonna happen if they hang around there?

[he's almost, almost amused by the effort Keith is putting forward, but there's a underlying irritation accompanying it that shows through when he speaks.]

Curious people are wont to disregard any warning, no matter how blatant it is. Let them reap the consequences of their curiosity.

[He'll smile a bit sadly, though it's not like Charles can see it.]

Even if they go under their own power, it doesn't excuse us from trying to help out anybody in need!

Of course, but I'm certainly capable and prepared to handle the repercussions for my curiosity. [in theory, at least...

and yes he is just rolling his eyes at all that conviction. there's only so far such an optimistic attitude can go, in his opinion!!]

I hate to be the one to bring down your enthusiasm a notch, but if the town decides to make this difficult for us, no amount of help will be enough.

While the least of the evils there, that food was extremely bad, again, extremely bad!

It definitely wasn't up to my usual standards. But those have always been pretty high to begin with.

I know that you may feel that way, and we are all very eager to go home, and really, we all feel the same.

But for your own safety, I would still strongly advise to wait.

I know it won't stop everybody; truly, I do know that. But we can't excuse ourselves from looking out for each other just because of that!

I see going there to investigate as a way of looking out for others. The sooner we find a way out, the better, right?

That doesn't mean everybody will, it doesn't. Not everybody has to learn in the hardest way.
