[Breakfast this time is not a disaster, and nothing has been caught in fire. There is no ominous smoke escaping the window and the backdoor. In fact, the small room is even fragrant with the smell of freshly baked goods and just prepared coffee. It's perhaps too much for two people to enjoy. Lily has yet to meet her darling father and the head of the household, but it doesn't mean that she can't be appreciative of him, anyway.

You might be tempted to peek through the wide open window, if inclined. There is certainly enough to share, especially if you happen to be a lucky man today.

The actual taste of the meal is another matter, of course.]

[There's been some complications with the actual act of acquiring an honest to God innocent, if alcoholic Father's Day present from the store. Lily, for one thing, is underage in this town. She's fuming outside, quietly, after being yelled at to leave the first four times.]

This wouldn't have happened if I were home.

Right, that right there. That last comment made Sirius's eyebrow raise. "Are you? Are you really flattered?" Because she was never flattered to see him, or glad really, which was quite a shame. He was a man to be glad to see after all.

"Tremendously. It gets hectic around here, and it's a relief to see a familiar face." There was truth to her words. She had been missing home, and preferring to the dismal reality of this place. But she would not have smiled so nicely under different circumstances, and her joy was certainly not naturally prompted.

An overpowering thought was hoping Black was equally happy to see her, as well. Or he should be, even if she had to forcibly extract that happiness.

[Well, that almost sounded truthful.]

Evans, are you messing with my head? Because if you are that's even worse then a Marauder trick.

I assure you, it pains me to admit this. [She blurts honestly, if with a dramatic sigh.] It's completely illogical, considering it's you, but it's very unfortunately true.

Well, why don't we go out and celebrate?

[He looks around with a frown.]

[bespell]

You're actually giving me the time of the day without having something in it for you? [Suspicion flashes in her green eyes for a moment, before fading away just as quickly.]

They're setting up the fair at the town. Have you ever been to a muggles fair, Black?

A muggle fair?

[He shakes his head, practically perking up and looking around.]

I was thinking more immediate, but that would be great.

We could check out the fair grounds and see how they put the attractions up. I've always wanted to know how they set up the tracks for the roller coasters.
