゜゚*❀*゚ ゜ Two

.: In the Kitchen of 1485 Kramden :.

[Breakfast this time is not a disaster, and nothing has been caught in fire. There is no ominous smoke escaping the window and the backdoor. In fact, the small room is even fragrant with the smell of freshly baked goods and just prepared coffee. It's perhaps too much for two people to enjoy. Lily has yet to meet her darling father and the head of the household, but it doesn't mean that she can't be appreciative of him, anyway.

You might be tempted to peek through the wide open window, if inclined. There is certainly enough to share, especially if you happen to be a lucky man today.

The actual taste of the meal is another matter, of course.]

.: Outside Grey ABC, the liquor store :.

[There's been some complications with the actual act of acquiring an honest to God innocent, if alcoholic Father's Day present from the store. Lily, for one thing, is underage in this town. She's fuming outside, quietly, after being yelled at to leave the first four times.]

This wouldn't have happened if I were home.

[He gives her a sidelong glance and stops his pace.]

Really now? Then I suppose I can ask you this:

Muggle-born, Pure-blood, or Half-blood?

Joy. Let me guess, you're a Griffindor as well? 'Daring, nerve and chivalry', and all that? Everyone else from our world seems to be from Griffindor.

[There's heaps of bitterness there. ]

You'll learn soon, girl, that such things hold no value here, unless you want to die.

Then he must be a sad excuse of a Slytherin, if he deemed you for suitable companionship.

Whatever. I don't care what you do. Just stay out of my way. I don't have any desire to associate with you lot, and I never will. So you can keep your pity to yourself.

[A failed Slytherin. No, she had not just compared him to one. His temper snaps as he rounds on her, furious.]

I like that very much! A Griffindor who thinks she knows what makes a man a Slytherin! Who do you think you are? My family have been extinguished pure-blood Slytherins from the start, unlike whatever hole you probably crawled out off!

You take that back, you-

...wait. Severus? As in...Severus Snape?

[Given that he has met McGonagall already, he wouldn't put it past the town to throw another teenaged teacher at him. She doesn't look like any professor he can remember though.]

He's my...was my Potions master.

...who are you?

[Oh. Oh wow. A few seconds pass, before Malfoy chuckles and runs his hand through his hair.]

Merlin's Beard. You are Lily Evans?

No, we definitely have never met. Though everyone has heard of you.

[He wonders whether he should tell her; it's obvious that Longbottum hasn't said anything. There's a temptation, of course. This is Harry Potter's mother; how often would he get the chance to get back at his enemy in one of the most personal ways possible?

But then again, it wouldn't do much would it? His smirk slowly fades; during his time in Mayfield, as he reflects on the war, his role in it, even his family and the Dark Lord, he had come to realise something that he wished he had learned so much earlier.

All his life, he had been told that the Dark Lord was the way to the glorious future for wizard supremacy over Muggles. It was the end in mind, the final goal, wherein wizards ruled over their lower Muggle subjects. But after being here for a few months, having lived with them, conversed with them, having been thrown out of his comfort zone, he had noticed, rather uncomfortably, that they were really much the same as wizards. And he had thrown his lot in with the Dark Lord: what had he gotten in return? He rubs his arm unconsciously, where his Dark Mark had once been. Had he found the glory he had wanted? Was he as happy as he thought he'd be? The parallel world he had thought he had been from had unearthed some rather disconcerting things about himself; it had opened his eyes to the other side of things. And while it had been horrible, to believe that he had lost his parents, he had actually seen how terrifying, how...insane the Dark Lord had been, no, is.

In the end, he takes a deep breath. It's not that he's changed his mind about Mugbloods, but he can always hurt her later. For now, he'll hold his tongue.
]

Have you met Longbottum? Has he told you anything?

[He nearly rolls his eyes; she is such a goody-goody Griffindor. But he didn't really want to continue the conversation with her, or, to be honest, have anything to do with her whatsoever, so all he'll do is shrug and walk off.]
