[Mom Lalonde sounds almost distracted today, or perhaps just bored.]

I have a proposition for any interested young people who may wish to take on a job after school. I wish to hire a personal assistant to aid me in several small projects I plan to undertake in the near future.

[She pauses, for a sip of her drink.]

Nothing of particular importance, just something to occupy my time. The job will entail taking dictation, some light filing, and running simple errands. Compensation is negotiable, but intended to be more than adequate.

She walks in, closing the door quietly and coming toward the kitchen after a moment.

"Correct. I have come with the intent of applying for a possible job," she answers with her usual monotonous tone.

Briefly, she looks to the drinks being mixed. "...What is a 'Cocktail'?" Uh. Might not be the best start to a possible job interview Fi.

That truly is a shame. My daughter recently faced the same fate.

[Mom has an immaculate poker face and only a hint of the sorrow she feels about that can be detected.]

Unfortunately what I require involves more work of a secretarial nature. And I leave the heavy lifting to my husband. I'm grateful for the offer though.

I'm not giving up on her returning just yet. My Rose is a strong girl, and she won't be defeated so easily.

I may take you up on that offer, if my experiments wind up running in that vein. Although I intended to start with something a bit more low key.

Not in the slightest. I don't intend to anything the town should be concerned about just yet.

Initially I simply want to examine the limits of our prison. I think finding out the basic parameters of the location are important. Once we know what they are.... then we begin testing them.
