[o] Be Mami Tomoe

[This morning Doc Scratch woke up well-rested and in a smaller room, with a single bed. Plenty of things wrong with that - he never recalled feeling well-rested since coming here and knows this isn't a room in the house he's assigned. It also becomes quickly obvious that something is very wrong with his body. He stumbles out of the bed, unable to retain the proper balance he normally does, and sees just how small he is all of the sudden. He also sees something else.

His eyes quickly dart around and he finds a long mirror in the room. He cautiously walks up to it and--

...Well, he doesn't scream. But he easily becomes startled at what he sees. This body wasn't the one they gave him when he arrived in Mayfield. It's the body of a young girl. A girl who can't be much older than Rose or Jade at that. He touches the mirror, making sure this isn't an illusory trick, and that confirms it in his mind. Then the next realization comes: his connection to the Green Sun is gone, as is his omniscience. This isn't just an ordinary Mayfield prank of modifying his body. It's as if he's an entirely different person.
]

--Hello?

[He says tentatively and grits his teeth afterward. His voice has even been changed to that of a girl. This isn't his assigned body. Which begs to ask: what if someone has his body then? All his powers and his omniscience. That isn't good. He needs to find his body.

..........Staring at this body wasn't going to help, unfortunately. Even if this girl is fairly cute looking, he has to have priorities right now.
]

1125 Taylor Road

[After making a quick assessment of what this body is capable of, "Mami Tomoe" is now walking down the stairs and going to the kitchen. If he will be out all day in this girl's body, he may as well get something to eat beforehand. Housemates (or bodyswapped-mates even) are free to come up to him while he gets food. For those familiar with Mami, you may notice her being a bit more quiet and reserved than what may be normal. Unfortunately, Doc Scratch has never actually met Mami and has no idea how she acts. He'll have to wing it. Though he has a feeling he'll be outed eventually, keeping low until he finds a way to defend himself is necessary. Security is the top priority, next to finding the girl in his body.]

Around town

A] Before Magical Girl Transformation:
[After leaving the house, Scratch immediately begins his search on Bilko Boulevard. The obvious place to go, seeing as how the girl occupying his body should have woken up there. But, as he waits on the street with the hopes of his body walking out, he wonders if they have walked off like he did. That means they may have gone to town.

So, Scratch sets course for town to search. Anyone of Mami's CR is free to intercept, though expect a Mami who may not be acting like her regular self. Scratch is an expert in the art of manipulation, but he's playing in the dark here. For anyone else, he'll be walking around to a few places on his adventure. Clothing store (though he ignores a slight temptation to take advantage of this body and try something on), the bakery (a slight craving for sweets, which is normally not one he has) and even the library (though now none of the books he used to read are available).
]

B: After Magical Girl Transformation:

[And then Doc Scratch figured out how to cause the magical girl transformation with the soul gem. It's certainly...different. This girl isn't nearly as powerful as he is, but she is certainly above average in this form. Now to test it out.

So now he's in this outfit and shooting out single shot muskets at the trees around the park. His aim is fairly good, but the free-flow of the powers he has can be challenging to control. In short - expect several bullets whizzing past the tree and possibly even grazing past you.

Along that he's also creating muskets out of thin air in his hands, making them come from the small hat, from the skirt and even having them pop up right out of his chest. He is having too much fun with this power than he would like to admit.

--But, it isn't just for fun. He's hoping that the real Mami Tomoe, in his body, will be attracted by the display of her powers being used so fragrantly. Lets hope it works.

Phone; Later in the day

[So as the day comes to a close and it's almost time for dinner, he'll get on the phone to pose an amusing question.]

I have a thought. What if we were all stuck in these bodies for the rest of our stay in Mayfield? How would you feel about being switched with someone you know or even a complete stranger at that? I'm not saying that is what will happen, but it's an amusing thought, right?

[And a light giggle is added to the end. Yeah Doc Scratch sure did ruin Mami's reputation in one day. He'll give her some candy to make it up another time.]

[Mami turns Scratch's mouth into a tight thin line.]

There are better ways to get my attention. Anyway, you've used quite enough as it is. [There's a certain dim panic trying to build, feeding off the budding fear that her Soul Gem's corruption is no longer frozen, that Scratch has spelled her doom with his wanton carelessness - but Mami stamps down on this rising hysteria. She grinds it into the dust until it is no more, until it's powerless and without meaning. She can see the golden gem set into the hairpin from here - the light is golden, bright and pure.

She sighs.]

Please tell me you didn't yet manage to kill anyone with my powers.

It was more fun than I expected it to be. Though I prefer smaller guns compared to a musket.

[He chuckles - yes Mami, that's you chuckling only it's not you. Pretty disturbing huh? Scratch doesn't even seem to be surprised or in shock over seeing his body moving around without him in it. He picks up one of the muskets left in the ground by his side and examines it, though continues to speak as cheerfully as before.]

And no, of course not. I am not so careless as to misfire at someone like that, Ms. Tomoe. Besides, would it even matter if I did? Death is not a permanent state of being after all. Not that I would kill anyone without reason of course. [Yeah, you got one of those people Mami.]

[The eyes narrow and the mouth fully quirks into a disapproving frown, but that's the only outward sign Mami gives of her displeasure. Her voice, if no longer light and girlish, remains measured and calm; control is still key. No matter how much Scratch needles her, that's something she can't afford to forget.]

Yes, I understand that death is meaningless here. We can be murdered and resurrected repeatedly, maybe even endlessly. Still, I don't want you killing anyone in my body if it can be helped, whether on purpose or by accident. You've claimed that you wouldn't without reason, which I suppose I'll have to settle for, but those are my sentiments. [a certain callousness settles into her tone, now.] I would rather only my enemies fear me, you see, not strangers or my friends, and a bullet can puncture a reputation just as easily as skin.

I've been careful with your own body thus far, for the record. [Just not your bedroom furniture.]

[He clasps his hands together and gives a thoughtful hum to her words. What a serious young lady. Well, he's used to dealing with her type.]

Oh, don't worry. I haven't knowingly hurt anyone thus far. My aim has been a little shoddy regrettably, so I do apologize for that. I normally am a much better shooter. Getting use to the freelance power your body is given in this form must take a while, but you would know that better than I. I must say, to care so much for a reputation - you must be an upstanding girl. I hope my reputation caused no trouble for you.

[The news about the body though does make him smile and he even bows his head. Japanese people do that and he is totally Japanese right now.]

I thank you for taking care of it. It isn't actually my body per se, but rather the one the town gave me when I arrived here. I thank you nonetheless. Your body has been unharmed as well.

[She decides to swallow a certain scathing remark regarding Scratch's aim in favor of just nodding to show that she heard. That would be letting her temper slip, and what was the point? He was right, on all accounts. Well.....save one.]

I wouldn't call myself "upstanding", exactly. I just understand how this sort of thing works. People find a certain comfort in grudges, and I'd rather avoid giving anyone a reason to hold one against me if I can help it. Your own reputation hasn't caused any problems, save for one person calling me a pedophile. But anyway...

[That was pretty interesting - not his real body, huh? Mami looks at the palms, turns them over to watch the bones work under flesh as she curls in the fingers and then relaxes them. She's done this sort of petty exercise before, but still isn't quite used to the sight of it yet.]

That's good to know. We both possess powers ordinary humans don't, so we have to be careful not to harm ourselves with them. [a pause, and she adds:] I'm guesssing you need a lot of control to focus your abilities, right? That's what it's felt like so far.

[personal profile] whitetextgirl 2012-05-01 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Pedophile is a term which does not apply to me and I am 100% accurate as to who slandered you with it. You need not forgive that foolish bird, but unfortunately he isn't the type to listen to reason.

[Scratch watches Mami observe the vessel, not moving much himself, and turns somewhat serious at her question.]

Yes, you're correct. It is less of an ability and more of something I was born with. My life is connected to an outer-worldly source of light energy called the Green Sun. The speed of this sun's light is faster than the speed of normal light, which is how you can teleport so quickly. Even if I were to shoot a hundred bullets none would hit if you tapped into the sun's light to transport you.

[He pauses and frowns, looking rather displeased at explaining this all.] However, the energy itself is governed by emotion. It isn't any trouble for me as a nearly emotionless being in my regular state. You, however, have to keep your emotions in check or you could cause a small explosion purely by accident.
