Prayer Two: The Burned Man
[Joshua ignored his orders to prank people and thanks to that, died. Mayfield managing to do what even Caesar could not. However this being Mayfield, he's soon back.
He does receive an envelope in the mail. Opening it up he finds himself looking at a picture of a very familiar flag. He barely has time to say anything before he's hit with intense burning pain.
A. Hello Mayfield. There is a man sitting on his front steps, looking like he's getting his breath back. He's covered in horrific burns and has a piece of paper clenched in his hands.
B. Walking around town. Argh...it's the Mummy...no wait. Just a man wrapped in bandages from head to foot. Stop and stare? If you look at him for long he'll ask if he can help you with something.
C. The Church. The Burned Man in the church, reading a bible off to the side. Yes, there is a man wrapped in bandages sitting in the spot Joshua Graham usually spent his time reading.]
[Phone]
How kind of the town to return some of our things after that. I had almost gotten used to things too. Thank you for the reminder of reality Mayfield.
On an unrelated note, would anyone be able to tell me if the town has a source of bandages aside from the hospital?

May I ask you to close your eyes briefly? It won't take longer than a few seconds.

Very well.
[And closes his eyes.]
wh..elp sorry for ultra late orz
He might feel a very faint pressure on both his shoulders. An instant later, a soft and cooling sensation slowly begins to seep in, from the skin into the muscles. It's like slowly submerging oneself into a cool lake, gradually pushing back the pain with quiet waves. ...In respect to his wishes, she's careful to not overdo it. There's the possibility that she can heal burns, the normal sort anyway, but under current context, she focuses on reducing the pain. ...Which might involve some subtle mending of tissues deeper under the skin anyway that's not obvious to the naked eye, but reducing nociceptor activities is the main goal.
She'll stop after a few seconds and step back before opening her eyes. He can likely still feel faint pulses of pain through his burns, but the refreshing difference should nevertheless be rather keen. It'll probably grow back to the intensity that he was more accustomed to as the treatment fades, given how this is just a temporary measure, but this should still be good for a bit at least.
...]
How do you feel now, mister Graham?

....much lighter.
[Respectful nod.]
Thank you. I've had them for four years since I was thrown into that canyon. This is the most peace I've had since then.

That's good to hear, mister Graham, and you're welcome. I'm glad that this was of help. It's a temporary treatment that probably wouldn't last for more than a few days, but I don't mind renewing it whenever you'd like since it's a simple process. I might be able to extend the effectiveness' length with practice too, but only if you're okay with it. [Respecting his will and his pace are the biggest constraints here, honestly rationalizing...] ...How would you like to proceed, if it's okay for me to ask?

Then please let me know whenever you'd like that repeated. You know I'm often here in the afternoon and evening, mister Graham.
