[Mom is at the bar, drinking. Just like every day, right?

Oh no. No, today is different. This is St. Patrick's day. This is the day when Mom drinks while wearing green. She also has a festive little hat, tilted to one side at a jaunty angle.

She is also displaying a preference for green drinks today, just to get into the spirit of things. She's still wearing her pink scarf though. Join her?]

[ Nurarihyon's also at the bar drinking. He's got no idea what St. Patrick's day is though, so he doesn't get all the green.

A slightly tipsy ayakashi slids over to sit next to her. ]

Why're you just drinking funny-looking drinks?

The green is traditional for the holiday. I'm just getting into the spirit of the thing, as it were.

[She nods]

It's called St. Patrick's day. Generally it involves the color green, shamrocks, drinking, and drinking while wearing the first two things.

[ He finishes off his drink. ] I'm all for drinking any day of the year, but why green?

[answerer_sword]

[Bazett looks over at the woman wearing the pink scarf. Normally, she would not bother with socializing with other bar patrons, but since she now has some alcohol in her system, she feels obliged to raise her glass in a small toast.]

[She smiles and raises her glass.]

The same to you. It's nice to finally have an uneventful, traditional holiday. I'm honestly surprised the town had nothing planned.

They let us pass New Year's safely too.

[Then they had followed it up with the surgeries.]

Yes, it makes me wonder what they have planned for us next...

Nothing good, I can promise you. The longer the lull is, the worse they probably have planned.

[One (1) friendly neighborhood bartender in an awful shirt would be placing another drink in front of her right about now.]

This one's on me. [Says the grinning bartender with the faintest Irish accent.]

My, my, the day was already going so well, and now it's all but perfect.

If nothing else, this has been the calmest holiday I've celebrated since arriving in Mayfield.

It was a rather pleasant surprise considering I was half expecting to be fighting off an army of angry leprechauns, or some such nonsense.

Now that you mention it, I'm a little surprised we didn't get anything like that. It'd be par for the course around here. At least I think that's the right phrase.

It's nice to see someone who knows holidays from back home. Everyone's from strange worlds and just stare at you funny when you try and celebrate.

And one would think that everyone here would have the sense to take up an avid interest in the local calender.

[She continues sipping her martini thoughtfully. ]

Personally, I would want to be prepared. Or at least forewarned.

Yeah, but not everyone makes sense around here.

[Drinks his green beer.]

Prepared? Oh, holidays. Yeah, good luck on that one. Even if you can guess when, you can't really predict what.

Or they'll brain wash you and make you forget anyways.

[She flashes him a grin.]

Anytime. And holidays are always spent better in good company.

[Grimsley pays accordingly and orders his own drink. As he recalled, she appreciated a man who could take his martinis.]

Holidays? I don't think I know what you mean - though I do believe any day I come across a vision of beauty is worthy of one.

Today is St. Patrick's day. It's a quaint little holiday celebrated almost entirely by enthusiastic carousing.

Thus it is naturally one of my favorites. It does not, however, usually come with the pleasant surprise of compliments from a charming gentleman.
