Oh no. No, today is different. This is St. Patrick's day. This is the day when Mom drinks while wearing green. She also has a festive little hat, tilted to one side at a jaunty angle.

She is also displaying a preference for green drinks today, just to get into the spirit of things. She's still wearing her pink scarf though. Join her?]

That must be it. Alas, especially charming gentlemen are so few and far between these days. It must be terribly trying to be one of the few specimens remaining.

[She takes a sip of her martini.]

One of them, yes. Patron saint of Ireland, I think.

Oh. You know how it is. A dying breed means we're all the more appreciated by those with impeccable taste and refinement.

Haven't heard of Ireland, either, but if he's the patron saint of alcohol, I think I'd prefer hearing about him over this Christ fellow.

I can assure you, Sir, that a great deal of appreciation is going on.

Not that either piece of information is particularly vitla when the salient point of the thing is that today we drink while wearing green. It's really all you need to know.

[Grimsley glances down at himself.]

Is that why the drones kept pestering me on the street today? I'm afraid green doesn't quite suit my style.

It's not exactly my favorite color either. But I thought it only fair to make some concessions to the holiday.

[She adjusts her little green hat.]

Then I shall simply have to drink until I'm a bit green around the gills. I'd better hurry.

[With perfect timing, Grimsley's first martini arrives.]

...Are the two of you married for real or only in Mayfield? The dapper fellow in the hat.

[She laughs and starts in on her next round.]

Mr. Egbert and I were previously acquainted before coming to Mayfield. And, as we were in rather serious relationship at the time, Mayfield's marriage arrangements were not entirely unwelcome.

[Grimsley raises his glass.]

To the most charming of young couples, then, and an exceptionally lucky man.

[Not that this means he'll flirt any less.]

Thank you. Considering that my daughter is here as well, I consider myself quite fortunate.

A lovely family unit. I didn't think the town brought over young children.

I can't think what would give you that idea. There are quite a number of people here under the age of fifteen.

Oh, certainly. But, I mean, she clearly can't be more than two or three.

[Did you hear that compliment that was a great setup right?? Bonus points please.]

Tragically, she just turned fourteen last December. Although I certainly appreciate the complement.

They do grow up so quickly...

[To be honest, giving a compliment was one thing, but he hadn't actually expected the daughter to be quite so old. Grimsley's expression of mild surprise fades soon enough.]

Do you prefer it, then, that you've all been drawn into this together? If you don't mind my asking.

Hmm, In all honesty, I do. I believe we all have a better chance at survival if we're together no matter what the circumstances.

And to be honest, Mayfield is not a significant downgrade from our previous situation.

Oh? I'm sorry to hear that. ...I can't really imagine anything matching the scale of Mayfield. Their power seems... limitless.

That's only because we know next to nothing about it. Nothing is limitless.
