[The bed feels empty. That is his first thought upon waking, before his eyes open. His second thought is, I should make pancakes this morning. He rolls over and reaches out expecting to find his husband Chris or at least some warmth in the bed where he'd been only to find... The edge of the bed? He reaches out for Chris with his tail only to find... Nothing? He can't feel his tail! He sits up and looks behind himself. Nothing there!

Except pajamas.

He squeaks and scrambles out of the bed in this small, strange room. He opens the door and pads out into the living room and the kitchen...]

Where am I?!

B. [Action: High School, throughout the school day]

[There's another new student. At the moment, he's a little reserved, but he has a tupperware full of homemade chocolate chip cookies and he will offer one to anyone who approaches.]

C. [Action: About Town, afternoon]

[Ebony is a little lost trying to find his way home. He still has some cookies left in his tupperware if you would like to go talk to him.]

I think I'm lost.

[Eb gapes for a moment.]

Wha-wha-wha-- You can change your shape?!

[But still, he climbs aboard.]

[Beast Boy would say something except that... he can't. The pterodactyl will just nod a little, though it was kind of obvious.

Take-off is a little bumpy, but Beast Boy manages even with the extra weight.]

[He holds on tight,squeaking a bit in surprise.]

[The idea is that Ebony will direct him towards where he thinks is familiar. The pterodactyl sort of swoops around in circles for a bit.]

It all looks so different from up here.

[He looks around wide-eyed, trying to find familiar landmarks.]

[The pterodactyl gives off a noise vaguely between a hawk's screech and a donkey's rasp. Beast Boy tilts his head around to blink at Ebony for a few moments.]

[He's trying so hard not to squeal about flying, but it's difficult. It's so cool!]

Oh wait! I think that tree...

[He points to the left.]

[Beast Boy nods and dives! Whee! It is like a roller coaster of awesomeness and fun.]

[Eb squeaks and then giggles, clinging tightly to him.]

[The roller coaster of fun ends with Beast Boy being unable to pull out of the dive in time, unceremoniously clipping a tree branch and tumbling from the sky. Oops.[

[He squeaks again and holds on tighter, ducking his head into BB's back.]

[Ebony will find himself rapidly losing anything to hold onto as Beast Boy shifts back into a boy and drops like a flour sack.]

Ow.

[He tumbles next to BB. He collects himself for a moment before he starts laughing.]

That was fun!

Huh?

[Beast Boy hangs loosely from a tree branch from a few moments before crashing to the ground.]

Oh, yeah. Fun. Totally.

[Flump.]

Oh, gosh... Are you okay?

Fine! Fine. Totally fine.

[Beast Boy continues to exhibit swirly eyes for a few moments before he shakes his head and snaps back to himself.]

Whoa.

So we any closer to your house, dude?

[He looks around and sees the street sign.]

Oh! It's Kramden, not Kraken!

Oh, yeah! I knew there was one that started with a 'C'!

[...]

Cool. You can find your way from here, then, dude?

Yeah... I can see it. Thank you so much!

[I hope you don't mind hugs, because Ebony's closing in for one!]

Uhhh.

[Luckily, Beast Boy is used to random hugs out of the blue. He flails a little at first before patting Ebony awkwardly on the back.]

Hey, no problem, dude. Don't, uh, mention it.

[And a little extra squeeze before letting him go.]

I'm so lucky to meet someone so sweet. And you've got such cool powers! I've never been flying before!

Oh, yeah. I'm pretty incredible, huh?

[Awww yes here comes the flattery. The best part of being a hero.]

You are! I've never seen anything like it. I wonder which element contributes toward that kind of magic.

Magic?

No way, dude. The grimdark stuff Raven does is magic. This is all natural, one hundred percent Beast Boy.
