[The first thing that Hayate realized when she woke up was that this was not her bed. Her bed was done up in silken sheets, something she liked as a luxury at times. Also, last she checked her bed wasn't occupied, even if Zwei or Vita still liked sleeping with her. Sitting up and blinking sleep out of her eyes, she looked around before quietly slipping out into the main room.

Looking around the house, she found the mantle with the pictures of people. Kids, pet, husband, what was going on here?]

I'd like to get a little more info about this place. Also, if anyone's from Midchilda, it would be appreciated to know if they were around as well.


[Around Town - Afternoon]

[Hayate disliked the dress she was wearing. It wasn't bad, but it could USE something. Something more. Even when she was going shopping for food like a "regular housewife", she knew that she had orders to fill when work called her again. But being a seamstress wasn't so bad to be honest; she had a lot of leeway. Already costumes were popping up in her mind and she giggled maniacally.]

The dress in the window. Ah know it's just a display piece but really? C'mon, no seamstress worth her salt would letcha walk out with that thing on.

Now the one next ta it is worth it. It's cheaper too from the price on th' label in the window, but it's made of better quality material.

Whoa, really? [ She didn't look, but something about that statement seemed to amaze her. ] ...you can pay with salt?

[Hayate blinked and laughed.] In th' old countries where they still accept barter an' trade, yeah. But most people just use currency.

Ohh,.... so not here? [ Did she get that right? ]

[ She raises her hand in greeting, though her arm is out straight and her wrist is bent at an odd angle. ] I'm Yoshika! Thank you for telling me who you were! I was about to ask "who're you?"

Yeah I'm pretty sure not here.

[Shakes, though she is kind of concerned about her wrist.] Likewise! Nice ta meetcha Yoshika. Um, I hate to ask, but is your wrist okay?

Actually, it really hurts. [ She straightens the hand out and it makes a terrible cracking sound when she does so. But then she waves it and lowers her arm. The thing is that she can feel the pain, but recognizing what it is and reacting to it appropriately are different things. ] Much better!

[GNEEEEE! That kind of sound would have had Shamal all over this girl, doing a full examination. Maybe about five minutes ago. Either way, Hayate's got a momentary O_o expression.]

That sounded like it hurt. Are you okay? You don't need to go to the doctor do you?

[ Whereas Yoshika is just confused by that reaction. ] I don't... need a doctor? [ And she sounds equally unsure, too. Now she's thinking about it. ]

Well your hand! It was bent in a way hands aren't supposed ta go! Take it from me, body parts aren't supposed ta bend in that direction without complete dislocation!

And take it from me, body parts aren't supposed to really bend at all! I'm still getting used to this.

I'm a jiang shi, that's how! [ A pause. ] ...or I was.

I don't like this "being alive" thing very much.

[Hayate immediately translated that, blinked and rubbed her head.]

Really? That's interestin'. I've never met anyone who was a jiang shi before.

You should really take care of yer body though, if yer alive. You could seriously hurt yerself if you don't!

Really? I knew lots! Even if they were just so because they got too close to the graveyard and I bit them. [ Cheesy grin. That isn't something to brag about, Yoshika. ]

Oh, I already did. [ She turns around and pulls up the back of her shirt. There is a MASSIVE bruise that's more of a line than a circle. ] Stairs are hard.

[No it isn't. Hayate's got this weird look on her face, somewhere between disbelief and outright omfg. But at the look at her shin she winced.]

You should really put some ice on that. It's going to heal badly if you don't!

But ice is cold! [ Yes, she's discovering all kinds of new sensations with this body. ]

Yes but it'll let you heal better.

But it's just ice...

All I need to do is get evil spirits to heal me, but I can't find any. [ Pouting. ]

Yes but it reduces the swelling.

I think we're kind of short on evil spirits.

It's swollen? [ She tries to reach back to get it, but can't really do so. ]

It will swell up if left alone.

...and that's bad? [ Now she's sort of spinning in place, still trying to reach it. ]

[It's kinda funny the way she was spinning but Hayate held out a hand for her to steady herself on.]

Yes its bad. Swelling will make it difficult to walk.

But walking is already difficult! [ Besides, it's on her back, so she doesn't get how it has to do with her legs... ]

It might be, but there's no reason for you to impede yourself, right? C'mon, lets get it looked at. Bruises can hurt after all.
