[The first thing that Hayate realized when she woke up was that this was not her bed. Her bed was done up in silken sheets, something she liked as a luxury at times. Also, last she checked her bed wasn't occupied, even if Zwei or Vita still liked sleeping with her. Sitting up and blinking sleep out of her eyes, she looked around before quietly slipping out into the main room.

Looking around the house, she found the mantle with the pictures of people. Kids, pet, husband, what was going on here?]

I'd like to get a little more info about this place. Also, if anyone's from Midchilda, it would be appreciated to know if they were around as well.


[Around Town - Afternoon]

[Hayate disliked the dress she was wearing. It wasn't bad, but it could USE something. Something more. Even when she was going shopping for food like a "regular housewife", she knew that she had orders to fill when work called her again. But being a seamstress wasn't so bad to be honest; she had a lot of leeway. Already costumes were popping up in her mind and she giggled maniacally.]

All I need to do is get evil spirits to heal me, but I can't find any. [ Pouting. ]

Yes but it reduces the swelling.

I think we're kind of short on evil spirits.

It's swollen? [ She tries to reach back to get it, but can't really do so. ]

[lil_tanuki]

It will swell up if left alone.

...and that's bad? [ Now she's sort of spinning in place, still trying to reach it. ]

[It's kinda funny the way she was spinning but Hayate held out a hand for her to steady herself on.]

Yes its bad. Swelling will make it difficult to walk.

But walking is already difficult! [ Besides, it's on her back, so she doesn't get how it has to do with her legs... ]

It might be, but there's no reason for you to impede yourself, right? C'mon, lets get it looked at. Bruises can hurt after all.

[ She stops resisting and puts her arms out front. ] Okay!

[lil_tanuki]

[Blinks and laughs.]

You don't need to jump along, but I suppose if its more comfortable for you, I won't argue against it.

Actually jumping just makes me tired. [ She lowers her arms to her sides, but they're still straight as boards. ]

Ah I see. And walking is difficult for you, isn't it?

[jumpsinline]

[ Yoshika demonstrates by taking a wobbly step, and then another. It's penguin-like and comical in the way that someone might walk if their knees were splinted. ]

Ah, I see. You're not bending your knees. Try moving like I do, okay?

[And Hayate takes a step forward, demonstrating how she should move. After all, there's a lot to teach her about walking as a living person anyhow.]

Oh. Those. [ Yoshika brings her foot up, knee bent at a right angle, and just sort of stands there a moment. She then brings the leg forward, but she's not using her arms for balance so she just... sort of topples to the side. Fortunately(?), there is a sturdy store window to break her fall. ] ow.

Ah! Oh geez, are you okay? You hafta use your arms for balance when you're walking, or you'll fall over again.

[This... might be more difficult than she thought this was going to be...]

I'm fine. [ Again, she is acting on the knowledge of pain, but not so much the sensations. She straightens herself up and this time, she takes a shaky step with one arm forward and the other back. ] I think I got it! [ ...it looks s tupid, but it works? ]

That's it, keep it up! You'll smooth out your steps with practice! [Aaaah Hayate loved this sensation, of teaching someone how to do mundane things! It was always a delight.]

Yay! I got it!! [ And she starts walking faster and faster in her hurry, looking back over her shoulder at Hayate and —

She should probably be stopped before she walks off the curb and into traffic. ]

Whoa whoa! [Catches her before she goes into traffic.]

Its nice you've figured out how to walk, but you shouldn't walk into traffic. It's dangerous!

What's "traffic"?

Traffic is moving vehicles. If they hit you, it could severely injure or kill you in an accident. So be careful when you step onto the road, okay?

[ There is a loooong pause. ] I would die when they kill me? [ It isn't a stupid a question as it sounds, sob. ]

[lil_tanuki]

Yes, and it would be really bad if it happened. I don't like seeing people get into accidents like that. [Sob cripple-memories are piling up.]
