Oh, and anyone who's previously met Steve is free to um, not recognize him, because he is noticeably... bigger. ]

[ It's right before noon on Saturday, and there are balloons tied to mailboxes all along Topper Street. If you've been reading some of the invitations on the street posts outside your house, you should know you're invited to an end of the summer block party! So come enjoy this extremely long post, sorry...!! ]

[ A: Food ]

[ There are a few tables set up on one of the lawns, with mismatched pots and plates from lots of families. It's done in a buffet style, so everyone should help themselves. Especially to a slice of pie, which there is plenty of! You can also bring some food to grill-- there are a few of those! ]

[ B: Tug of War ]

[ Steve grabs a cardboard box out from underneath a table... ]

Has anyone seen a long rope?

[ C: Sock Game ]

[ A bunch of socks (all clean!!) are placed in a line on someone's lawn, and two teams will have to throw them onto each other's side, kind of like dodgeball, but with socks. It's a lot safer. ]

[ D: Scavenger Hunt ]

[ There isn't really a prize besides bragging rights, but anyone who wants will have a sheet of paper they have to get other people to sign... Some of the categories are "Someone from a world that isn't yours", "Someone with a different eye color than yours," "Three people you've never met", and "Someone who lives at least two blocks away from you." ]

[ E: Face Painting ]

[ There's a little chair on Steve's porch, where someone (probably him) is sitting down with little jars of paint. Totally safe for skin, he checked. ]

What do you want to be?

[ F: Three-legged Race ]

[ So, they might have run out of strings to tie people's legs together, and Steve's come back from his closet, with a bunch of ties he does not ever want to wear. ]

[ G: Sponge Race ]

[ Down the street, there are four buckets. Two full and two empty, lines forming behind the full ones and sponges floating in either. People are discouraged from throwing the sponges at each other... ]

[ H: Freeze Dance ]

[ Thanks to Miku, we have a great overseer for the Freeze Dance, so when the music goes off, you'd better freeze, or you're out! ]

[ I: Apple Bobbing ]

[ I have no idea how anyone got a barrel for this, but there is one now. I'm not actually sure what the point of this activity is, as I've never found it amusing. ]

[ J: Chess ]

[ On someone else's lawn, chalk marks the boundaries for squares on a chess board. People are encouraged to have makeshift costumes to represent their piece and side-- and try not to argue too much about illegal moves! ]

[ K: Magic Tricks ]

[ Courtesy of Margot, there are some really cool magic tricks happening. Stop by and be awed! ]

[ L: Cleanup ]

[ Is anyone actually going to play this out? Whatever, it's an option. ]

[ M: Movie ]

[ So maybe there's a 60" flatscreen on Steve's porch somehow (thanks Quinn!), with blankets all strewn on the lawn and people encouraged to sit by others and make a few new friends. Someone ducks in and out of the front door occasionally to deliver fresh popcorn. ]

Hohhhh, butterflies...

Astral seems to ponder this for a moment himself- and in the end decides it can't be bad.

"Aah- That will be fine, yes. The only thing I believe I would object to is anything in my eyes or hair, truthfully." Guess the markings are safe! (That makes this much easier no doubt.)

"No problem, I'll stay away from those. But you might wanna stay out of the wind while it dries, in case it blows your hair into the paint."

But he picks a pretty blue color, that will look like it's part of Astral's face, maybe.

"It'll tickle and be cold."

A very serious nod is your response to that- "Of course."

Astral get the guinea pig out of your hair then, Chuuma will be WORSE THAN WIND-

At any rate, he's actually sitting on the chair now, with a somewhat confident smile. "Understood!"

Very carefully, Steve starts painting the butterfly. His hand is very steady and he makes quick work.

"So, how have you been lately?"

There's a bit of a blink in surprise at the cold, but Astral quickly focuses back on conversation instead. "I have been doing well enough, admittedly. There was a moment before when I found myself in the 'Desert', but aside from the heat, I fared rather well I believe. For some reason, my bedroom's furnishings were replaced with Yuuma's soon after." N... Not that it's not a nice room or anything but...

...Why.

"Well, I'm not sure what that means, but... What happened in the desert?" he asks, because he's honestly curious. "Was that... Tuesday?"

"Yes." ...Yes tuesday? "Unfortunately however, I did not succeed in much while I was present; the most I can say is that there was an incredibly harsh wind to the back of myself which I could not fly through with any bit of my strength. I flew for a time... However in the end, aside from winds and sandstorms, I did not find myself observing much."

"That's a shame," he says. "We got a mountain, but it started erupting before I got too far. But someone managed to get what we were looking for."

"Aah. A dormant volcano then... ...I believe I encountered another who was there- Are you familiar with Neville perhaps?" Probably not. At any rate.

"It is fortunate that most escaped safely somehow... Though I suppose it is better to enjoy what we can now that it is passed, for the moment."

"No, but I assume he's alright if he came back to tell you about it, and I'm glad for that." He smiles. "I thought we could use this party to do just that, enjoy ourselves for a job well done."

"Aah. Indeed- many did not return despite the number who survived... So to celebrate what was achieved before whatever is yet to come does so is, in the end, of great importance." Awwww, someone's figured out what happiness is... Yayyyyyy~

"Though, I must ask... What inspired you to hold such an event as this?"

"It's almost fall. I was barely here for summer, I'm going to miss it," he says. He did miss most of his summer, after all. Not that he doesn't like fall-- fall's the best season.

"Aah. Summer passed almost too quickly I find." He nods. "Well- I am glad you put it together; though unfamiliar, it's been quite an enjoyable experience thus far."

You still gonna say that when you see the butterfly on your cheek Astral?

"I'll throw one next year if we don't get home by then," he says.

And then he finishes with a dot and a flourish.

"There. That should do it."

He responds to that with a sad smile, but a smile nonetheless. "Aah."

And now, the reveal! Where's that mirror, ah-

"Aah..." He stares for a moment, and the smile becomes a bit more positive. "It's quite good. Thank you." It sort of reminds him of 'Droite' from home, hoh...
