{ACTION} Mayfield Elementary; before class
[Despite seeing and hearing some things he didn't want to encounter during the trip into the void, Czeslaw has been attending school without missing a day. Dressed in a white shirt with a tie (fixed to be straight by his drone mother) and jacket but missing his usual hat, Czes makes his way on campus, arriving a little bit early.

He bumps shoulders with people sometimes, uttering a small "sorry" whenever he does. But if he sees a face he recognizes, he looks up with the best smile he could plaster on his face.]

Hi... good morning! How's it going?

{ACTION} Stone Street; afternoon
[Czeslaw received something in the mail after coming home from school. It was just an envelope with a card inside, but what's important to Czes is what is dran on the card. It's a two-panel comic, a simple picture of a human with a wound in the first panel; the human's wound is healed in the second. He looks at it for a couple of seconds before he pales and nearly drops it, turning white and running inside the house.]

Firo! Hey Firo, can I talk to you?

[First he calls Firo, because this is the guy he was living with back home. First he's got to call Firo and see if he's still alive and around, and tell him what happened. He already tried to see if the mail wasn't joking, and sure enough it was real. The cut on his lip he bit down on it earlier healed in seconds.]

Not over the phone, though -- I can come to to your house or meet you anywhere, but I need to talk to you!

{ACTION} Nelson Street; nighttime
[Czes was also going to try calling Elmer C. Albatross but instead he runs. He remembers that Elmer lived on Nelson Street, so he runs as fast as he can to that street, hoping he'll find the house. But it's the one with the treehouse, right?

He's running so fast he might crash right into a passerby, saying "Sorry!" and hoping he won't get pulled into a conversation.]

Oh, they definitely did, that's for sure. Most of them are probably dead or behind bars though.

Begg's... I don't know what he does with them. But he's an immortal.

Occupational hazard. So wait, you know one of their guys?

They have an immortal workin' with 'em?

[He'd thought the Martillos and the Gandors would have the edge there.]

Uh... kinda? I mean, I met them, once.

[He shrugs and nods in response.]

Begg doesn't do much.

[He shakes his head in disbelief.]

I see... He doesn't know how to make the elixir, does he?

I don't think so. The only one who was really interested in learning how to make it was Szilard, and aside from him, only Maiza knows.

Probably for the best. We haven't had too much trouble with 'em, but if we did...

[He shakes his head. He doesn't want to think about his Family dying. And it would still be a problem for the Gandors, who haven't always had such friendly relations with that organization.]

Any other immortals hangin' around that I should know about?

... After Szilard's died, I think it's me, Maiza, Sylvie, Elmer, Nile, and Denkuro. Huey, too.

Huey's been arrested I think. I don't know where everyone else is though.

[Szilard didn't have such a great memory for faces, but some vague pictures attached to some of the names surface. He brushes them away and kicks off the ground to move his swing.]

So they could be on the other side of the world or right next door.

Think we'll get any trouble from the rest of 'em?

[He can't help but feel Czes's opinion is more valuable in this matter; he actually knew them where Firo merely remembers them. There's a difference.]

If you get Nile mad, he might throw you across the room, but from what I remember he's not a bad person. Just violent. Denkuro was his friend, I think... and Sylvie.

Sylvie, I don't know what she's like right now. I mean, I don't know any of these people really well, but I don't think Sylvie would ever forgive Szilard for what happened.

Like Berga, huh?

[Though with that guy, Firo's not sure if it can be said that he's entirely not a bad person.

His smile fades at the mention of Sylvie.]

...Yeah, I really don't see who would.

[Czes doesn't know Firo's thoughts so he can't tell him that Nile's not a good person either. But comparatively, both Berga and Nile aren't terrible people.]

I bet she's extra mad. Elmer told her to smile right after. Maiza, too.

[Firo just stares at Czes as he processes that. Smile?]

What the hell? After that?

Mhm.

That's... what he's like. I knew him for a few years but he's always been like that.

[He shakes his head and folds his arms over his chest.]

What an asshole. Why the hell would anybody think sayin' somethin' like that is okay?

Because Elmer's different. You haven't spoken to him here?

[They actually spoke once but they never got into introductions and the brief meeting wasn't enough to jog Firo's memory.]

He's here?

Uh-huh. He lives on Nelson Street, said he'd been there a while... I guess you wouldn't really notice him unless you knew him or he told you he was immortal.

I wish I'd noticed him. That's stuff I should know!

Now you do. If you want to, he's really not that dangerous so you can go looking for him. Just tell him you know me and he'll probably be your friend.

Are you sure about that? He didn't sound like the nicest guy, from what you said.

He's one of the nicer ones. Compared to people like Nile and Huey... he was less scary.

Nicer... Does that say much?

[There were people of varying degrees of niceness from Szilard to Maiza. If you can call a gangster nice.]

Well... he's, you know, cheerful. You'd still like Sylvie better and Maiza's nicer than Elmer too, but Huey's the one who's in jail for terrorism right now.

[He raises an eyebrow at that.]

They sure had a variety, didn't they?

I guess I should pay this guy a visit. If he's a friend, great, if not I'll have a better idea of what to watch out for. Have you talked to him much here?

Just a few times. I met him when I first got here and he lived close by, so.
