[Scout sounds really excited about something. What could the reason be?]
Yo! Anyone wanna race me? I got my speed back! And I ain't about t'waste it by not runnin' around circles and bein' real awesome.

I may even be nice 'n letcha get a head start! C'mon, let's do it!

[B] - [ACTION/JOHN DOE PARK]
[As excited as Scout is about getting his speed back, he's not too happy about not being able to jump on top of a gazebo in the middle of the park. If you're in the area, you may see him try really hard to double jump and get some height, but quickly fail and fall back down to the ground.]

Damnit! Why can't I make this?

[What is with people trying to get to the top of telephone poles/buildings? Terra's just going to keep staring and watching him try to jump to the top of the gazebo. Eventually though, she's going to call out to him.]

You know, you're going to hurt yourself if you keep jumping like that. You might sprain your legs, or get a bad bruise.

[quickly]

[Scout briefly stops his sad attempt at jumping on top of the gazebo and turns around to face the voice. Once he spots who he thinks is its source, he grins and waves.]

Yo! You talkin' t'me! 'Cause I totally got this.

Did you want the obvious answer or the one where I give you false encouragement that probably ends with you cracking your head open on the concrete?

[quickly]

[Scout stops what he's doing and faces the source of the voice.]

Eh? Hey, you ain't my Ma, so I ain't listenin' t'ya. I never crack my head open on the ground.

Go on, try harder. Perhaps if you managed it like the high jump - turning your body horizontal and all that.

[quickly]

[He seriously considers what she says for a moment and then laughs.]

That sounds crazy! I can't do that.

[There's a short teenage tomboy watching you fail, Scout.]

[Matter-of-factly:] You ain't even comin' close.

[Turns around.]

'Course I am! I'm real close t'gettin' this. Watch.

[With that, he runs toward the gazebo and tries to double-jump once again, and of course, he fails.]

That was a fluke!

Yeah, so I saw.

[She walks over closer now, eying up the gazebo herself.] I can do it.

[quickly]

[Takes a few steps back.]

Ha! Really? Lemme see ya try it.

[soulless_soldier]

[She takes a few steps back, sizing up her jump. She takes a few deep, cleansing breaths, closing her eyes. Concentrating. After a few seconds, she bursts into a run, surprisingly fast for someone with such short legs. She jumps, and sails up - almost as if something plucked her from the air and guided her there. She lands with a thud on the top, grabbing on to the little peak for leverage. She takes another deep breath, and smirks down at Scout.]

[Scout is too proud for his own good.]

[Fran is in the park on other business, but comes across the Scout as he is laying prone on the ground. She walks over and peers down at him. She has only just arrived and hasn't regained her normal appearance, so she looks like a normal 16 year old blonde girl right now]

Are you alright?

[quickly]

[He sits up and shrugs.]

Yeah, yeah. 'M fine. Just havin' some trouble makin' a jump, 's all.

Is there any reason you should expect to be able to do so? It seems a bit higher than the average athletic threshold~
