[339 Brady Lane]
[Shortly after the mail's arrived, Mika can be found sitting on the porch, a package torn open near her feet and she has a worn, discolored satchel in her lap. Her gaze is distant as she holds a battered notebook in her hands, flipping through the pages without really looking at them.
Of all the things she could have gotten back, she hadn't expected them to return her bag.]

[Literally.]
[Like how he materialized out of thin air over Mika's shoulder.]
You're lookin' a little down, kid. You alright?
no subject
Y-yeah, I guess. Just...I guess I wasn't expecting to get anything back, o-or lose so many friends...
no subject
[Blink blink.]
Uh...sorry about that. It's kind of habit by now. You alright?
no subject
[She shifts, going to pick up all the loose pages that had spewed from her notebook. All the papers seem stained with something, and she's quick to shove them back while almost trying to hide what she was doing. Either she was embarrassed to be caught with it, or scared that anyone would see.]
Old habits, sorry.

Nyaa... Mika got a thing in the mail?
[He's sniffing at it curiously and carefully.]
no subject
[She pets him, glad for the company. The contents of her bag were both a welcome, and something that dredged up terrifying memories. Touching Nyanpire's soft fur was a gentle reassurance that she was safe.
At least, for the moment.]
no subject
[And on comes his purr. If there's space, he'll hop into her lap.
...heck, he'll hop into her lap even if there isn't any. Make room for Nyanpires!]
no subject
[There is always room on her lap for a purring kitten. The notebook is set aside and she pats her knee so he knows he's welcome. A good kitten cuddle is exactly what she needs.]

Ah mean, Ah still need to eat, but they only want to give me dog food. Been kinda sneaking some food when Ah can and buying vegetables and stuff on mah own...
But hey, at least you still have some friends here, right? And some good memories? So even if that makes you think of some bad ones, maybe you can remember some good ones too, huh?
no subject
Well, if you ever need to escape feel free to stop by, AJ. I promise I can make proper vegetarian food if you need a real meal. Or you can just let yourself in and have anything out of the fridge or pantry. Doesn't matter to me.
[She cocks her head, her brow furrowing a little.]
I do, but...I dunno, it's hard to open up to people when you know they'll just think you're crazy. Even if they really won't, but you can't shake the feeling that they will. But I'm afraid good memories of my stay here are hard to come by.

Like the girl she happens to be currently staring at. Damn, look at that hair. And... are those dog ears? Jesus.
Unfortunately, for all her indiscreet staring, she hasn't quite realise the stranger may not be in the mood for this.]

[The wolf girl sounds like that's the first question people ask, having only caught a glance of Clover out of the corner of her eye. She doesn't sound angry, more like she's talking about the color of the sky. Even with Cade's attempts to heal her, she still looks frail and sunken, her body almost completely wasted away and most of her visible skin was covered with scars.
She looks up from her book at Clover through a part in her limp bangs, almost sounding amused.]
Or were you checking out the house, instead?
no subject
[She wasn't exactly... expecting to be acknowledged. At least not so peacefully. But hey, she'll take it.] Honestly, at this point, it'd probably make ya weirder if they weren't real.
[Only when she steps closer does she notice that Mika isn't looking so good.]
no subject
It really would, wouldn't it? Don't know where anyone'd get a pair around here unless they had them back home first.

Hey, Dante. [She looks down at the notebook in her hands and shakes her head.]
It's stupid, but...I guess I'm just upset because a lot of my friends have been permanently droned. Then I got my bag in the mail. Just...too many bad memories to go with it, even if I needed it.
