[339 Brady Lane]
[Shortly after the mail's arrived, Mika can be found sitting on the porch, a package torn open near her feet and she has a worn, discolored satchel in her lap. Her gaze is distant as she holds a battered notebook in her hands, flipping through the pages without really looking at them.
Of all the things she could have gotten back, she hadn't expected them to return her bag.]

mentally stablepretty down, so he's here to investigate!)What's got you down? Something wrong?
no subject
Hey, Dante. [She looks down at the notebook in her hands and shakes her head.]
It's stupid, but...I guess I'm just upset because a lot of my friends have been permanently droned. Then I got my bag in the mail. Just...too many bad memories to go with it, even if I needed it.
no subject
(Assuming he actually goes grocery shopping...)
What you're feeling right now's normal.

[Her gaze goes distant as she stares down at her lap and the open notebook in it. The pages are stained with unknown substances, the writing on them a rushed scrawl. So many bad memories lingered in those pages, but without the bag and its contents she'd felt terrifyingly unprotected.]
I don't know...

(A sad sad truth...for Dante, anyway. Women tend to troll him easily.)
There's nothing wrong with missing people after they're taken from you. It's not like I haven't gone through that before.
(Vergil instantly comes to mind. Sure, he came back all brainwashed, but back at the time, he thought he lost him.)
no subject
[She just smiles a little and shakes her head at that. Oh, Trish.
She sighs, her tail thumping listlessly against the porch.]
Oh, that part is normal, yeah. And...well, I'm sorry about your twin.
no subject
(Though it's a bit better now that they've finally finished paying off Lady.)
It's cool; I'm over it by now. Took some time, but you get over that sort of thing. You're a strong lady; you can do the same.
no subject
[At least this line of teasing is making her smile a little.
Her gaze goes a little flat as she looks at something past him.]
Losing someone important like that, the pain lingers even if you think you're over it. But strong? I can't say that's something you could call me. Running from everything isn't exactly strength.
no subject
(Still blaming Lady for that, but if there's one thing Dante can do, it's get by.)
You don't have to fight to be strong, you know. Sometimes, it's being able to keep going that makes you strong.
no subject
[Mika huffs, shaking her head.]
There isn't much left of me to keep going, Dante.
no subject
(Why yes, this was all totally one big plan to comfort her and not coincidental in the slightest, what are you talking about >.>)

Why don't I take you out to eat somewhere? My treat.

[She cocks her head, her eyes going wide before she catches herself. With a soft huff and a wry grin, she puts her scuffed hand in his, it looked surprisingly small in comparison, and the scars on her knuckles stand out when she closed her fingers around his.]
Well, as long as you don't try to hit me with a car first like the last guy who asked to take me out for a meal, I suppose it's fine.
no subject
(Such cute hands...scuffed or not, they were still better than Dante's. Also, that statement makes him raise an eyebrow.)
...dude. I might not have the best pickup techniques, but even I'm not that much of a douche.
no subject
Snorting softly, she shakes her head.]
He assured me it was an apology meal. Little did I know he thought it was actually a date. Didn't really listen to 'no' or 'stop that' very well, either. Took a few snaps to get him to stop invading my space when I didn't want him cuddling all over me.
[Her nose wrinkles, her ears flicking back at the memory.]
no subject
Well that's lame...and pretty sleazy. If you want, I can go kick his ass.
no subject
No, I'm not that mean, siccing you on him. As hilarious as that'd be, it'd be horrible of me.
no subject
(Is he disappointed? Not really, no. Fights were fun, but they were boring if they were too easy.)
The town's stupid enough to not sell pizza anywhere, but they have burgers and shit at the diner. That sound good to you?
no subject
[She snorts, tossing her head a little.]
Then I'm afraid you might just have to learn to make it yourself. But sure, I never turn down meat.
no subject
(He runs his hands through his hair. So much swag he has.)
I can't cook for shit, so unless you want to watch me blow up a kitchen, that's out...so yeah, burgers sound good right now.
no subject
[Her eyebrows almost arched skeptically but she couldn't help but laugh at the idea of him blowing up his kitchen.]
Ohh-ho! The king of hell, bested by a stovetop? How sad! I guess I'll just have to try my hand at it myself!
no subject
(Hey now, he's sensitive about this sort of thing...okay, not really.)
Hey, it's not my fault stoves are damn hard to work with; I'm the kind of guy who hits things until they work for me, but hey, if you can make pizza, I'm sure as hell not gonna complain.
no subject
Looks like I might have to start teaching people how to feed themselves. It might just save you some money.
no subject
(Except it's usually his fault he's broke all the time. The rest of the time, it's Lady's fault.)
