That's not precisely how I expected to wake up yesterday, but all things considered, it could be worse.

Well then, introductions, I suppose. Best as I can manage, at least. My name is Remus, and I assure you that I am a completely uninteresting human being. So uninteresting, I can't rightly think how to introduce myself, apparently.

[sigh] I always was crap at this.

I'm still-- still trying to work everything out here, so if someone would be so kind as to entertain a few questions? I realize we're all relatively in the dark here, but...

There is another way for receiving things from home, but it comes at a price. It's something we have to do at the post office, but we lose something in return.

[He much prefers to fly now that he has his wings and troll body back. Well, he'd like it more if it was night, but this sun doesn't burn him so he's gotten used to the light.

What arrives first is glittery bronze powder falling from his wings and a shadow. not long after he comes in for a graceful landing.]

[Remus has taken up a perch at the front window, staring out over the perfectly-manicured lawn and the cookie-cutter house across the street. He's almost stared himself into a lull when the troll flutters in and lands, perking up as his brow rises practically to his hairline.]

Bloody hell.

[After a bit of scrambling, Remus manages to get hurry outside, eyes still rather large during his approach.]

Can't say I've ever seen a troll, but I'm fairly sure the ones where I come from don't look like you. Look-- look at your wings. You're brilliant.

Well if it's anything you'd like to discuss...

[Remus' face screws up for a moment, and he shakes his head.]

Not sure if getting my magic back is worth that. You?

I-it's okay. [A quick answer. He doesn't want to think about it too much. Topic change, gotta find a new topic.]

Hey, Mr. Remus, can I ask you something?

[He laughs, voice loud and strident. How he moves with horns that big the world may never know, but he does hold the wings out fully extended to be admired.]

They are uniquely me! I'm the only troll in living memory that's had such a miraculous pupation. I'm called Summoner.

Just Remus, is fine. And feel free. I don't know if I can answer, but I'll try.

[Lily has yet to run into anyone desperate enough, or perhaps just dumb enough, to have made the trade, so she shakes her head.] If it was a last resort, perhaps. I'm perfectly willing to wait with all my limbs intact.

[Doesn't sound like much of a name to Remus, but far be it from him to judge that sort of thing. He circles Summoner once, carefully taking in the troll's appearance, before coming to stop in front of him with a rather ridiculous smile.]

Well, Summoner. It's very good to meet you.

[But then the pieces start to come together in his mind, and his face starts to fall a bit.]

Then-- You said you didn't first arrive, looking like this?

Humans are totally fucking boring.

[Remus draws a slow breath, scrubbing a hand back through his hair.]

Still, sorry you're stuck with our lot. Suppose there aren't many people you'd less prefer to accompany you to a strange place against your will.

Remus, then. Well, it's just out of curiosity, and for conversation, you see.

What was your home like, Remus?

Do you think so? I've never much minded them.

[How much is he supposed to tell the Muggles here? That's something he hasn't really discussed with the others yet.]

It's a normal sort of place, I suppose. You know, we all go to a private school, but other than that it's-- ordinary.

[He holds still for the inspection, smile bright (though with a little well-concealed sadness for the very perceptive to find), and then the wings fold up surprisingly well when Remus comes around to face him.]

It's good to meet you too Remus. And yes! I looked as human as you when I arrived. I got my wings back first then the rest of my body when I woke up a few days ago.

[Remus isn't the best at concealing his emotions, but he at least manages to poker-face rather well before the anxiety starts to kick in. That's-- well, it's worrying, at best.]

How long were you here, before that happened?

Some are pretty cool but most are total fucking dorks. Then again, it's the same with paras, so who fucking knows?

-- Also, if you're gonna pretend to not be whatever the fuck you really are because you think anybody gives a fuck? Probably shouldn't go around calling them "them." Y'know, gotta blend in and shit.

[It may have been an uncharacteristic gesture of her back at Hogwarts, with many eyes on them, but Lily reaches forward to pat him on the shoulder, smiling gently.] Don't think like that. We're in this together. We don't have to be facing an unknown, inexplicable danger to be decent to one another, either.
