[ACTION A; 1761 Beaver Street; morning]

[Hawke did not escape the carnival very easily - if you can even call falling out of the sky and breaking your neck three days in "escaping." And even though she didn't suffer through five entire days of alternate Mayfield, when she wakes up in the morning, she's as tired, thirsty, and hungry as she was before she died.

So, the first thing she does - after being enthusiastically greeted by her mabari, that is - is wander downstairs, shoo the drones away, and put on a pot of coffee. It doesn't help fight off the sleepiness, though, so she shuffles upstairs, climbs back into bed, closes her eyes...

And screams.]

[PHONE; open]

Well, that was... fun. [Yaaaaaaaawn. Boy she sure sounds tired.] I think I lost a few days after I went to visit the neighbors, however. Anyone mind telling me what happened after - what was it, our third day there? I certainly hope I didn't miss anything interesting.

Nice of them to leave me a welcome back gift, too. Finally, something interesting to re-- [Hawke cuts herself off after taking a book off the shelf and inspecting the cover.] Hard in Hightown, really? It won't put me to sleep, at least.

[As she goes to hang up the phone, you might hear her mutter to herself:] Maker, I need a drink.

[ACTION B; Olney's Tavern; evening]

[After trying nearly all day to get some sleep and failing miserably, Hawke decides to get her mind off her post-revival the best way she knows how: drinking.

She swings by the tavern in the evening, ignores any drones that may be present, and takes a seat. It's no Hanged Man, but she can't be sure if that's a good or bad thing. The smell of piss seems to be absent, at least, which is always a good sign.

Her dog is sitting on the floor beside her stool, because, well, he follows her everywhere. Cupcake seems to be behaving himself, though.]

Given that I worked in a free clinic in Darktown, yes, I think I can.

[The raised eyebrow doesn't change.]

Why yes, I do. Do I want to hear what you've got in mind?

Oh, nothing in particular... [She's just grinning.] I did rather enjoy watching you get drunk, though. It was very entertaining.

And since that's not an option... I can only assume you're planning something else.

Really, why do you always assume I'm up to something? Maybe I simply enjoyed having you to myself.

[She finishes off the bottle and starts on number two, and just kind of. Drapes herself all over him.]

All I have planned right now is to drink until I can't walk, and enjoy the pleasure of your company. I'll be the one to entertain you this time, I suppose.

[... this is sort of entertaining to watch. And at the same time, he's still sort of waiting to see what she's got in mind.]

It's certainly starting to look that way.

I don't think I'll be nearly as amusing as you were that night, at the brothel.

That bottle is emptying pretty quickly, and Hawke is aaaaall smiles. One or two more and she just might tell him what's on her mind.]

Can you blame me? I hadn't had a drink in close to a decade...

[All the more reason to hand her another once she's done. He doesn't quite condone the idea, but if it gets her to sleep without nightmares?]

[Who is he to judge?]

Not at all. I'd hate to have to suffer through that. You are a stronger person than I, love.

[You know Hawke is getting tipsy when she starts non-ironically using terms of endearment! Also when she starts crawling into his lap. He's comfortable, okay.]

[He knows she's tipsy. He knows that very well. But all the same, the term of endearment... it makes his heart warm just a little.]

I wouldn't go that far.

[oof. Well. His goal is for her to be comfortable. And... so... he'll let her crawl where she pleases.]

Better?

[She is here to warm his icy cold heart with the power of... being a drunken idiot, I guess. Way to go, Hawke.

She spends a few short moments wiggling around to get comfortable, but soon enough - ah, there we go. Happily sitting in his lap. Hi, Anders. :'D]

I am now.

[That's better than nothing!]

[He... blinks for a second, then puts his arms around her, smiling a little.]

Good. I wouldn't want it any other way.

[Curling an arm around his waist again, beer bottle in her free hand. This is so romantic.]

I'm alive, I have alcohol, and there is a very good-looking healer taking care of me. What more could I ask for?

I don't know. A way back home, maybe?

But our time in Mayfield has been so lovely! You don't want to stay?

I think we both know what the answer to that question would be.

I suppose we do, at that. Someday. [Annnnd there goes another bottle.] Where should we go once we get there, I wonder? I can't imagine we'll be staying in Kirkwall.

[He falls quiet a minute, toying with her hair.]

... I doubt that I could. I... suppose whether or not you stay is your choice, Hawke.

No, I don't think I could, not after... [She trails off, shaking her head slowly.] Isabela invited me to join her crew, once her ship was ready to sail. I think I'd rather like that.

[he just keeps toying with her hair.]

Good voyage to you, then, love.

Oh, no, that won't do at all. [She discards her current bottle, then reaches up and takes his hand in both of hers, beaming.] You're coming with us, I've just decided.

[He blinks, awkwardly squeezing her hands in return.]

You've just decided? Right here, right now?

Well... the idea came to me a while ago, actually. I only just remembered it now.

[She shrugs.]

So, what do you say? The Champion goes sailing with an apostate and a pirate... Varric could certainly make a good story out of it.

[He studies her face for a long moment, clearly debating what to say.]

... You would really want that? Even after... what I've done?
