[When Rin got the boxes at the front, she was worried. Three for each of them? Well, excluding Scott but still. Bringing it into the living room, she set them down and counted them out. Three for Nozomi, three for her.]

Nozomi! We've got mail!

[Opening the first one, she blinked at the sight of a cell phone adorned with butterflies up the side.] What the heck is this?

Is it common to get a whole bunch of things that you didn't expect you would get? I got a pile of stuff in the mail today, and so did Nozomi.

[Phone - Marisa]

Marisa, you know how you said you wanted to check on my magic and stuff? I got something new in the pile. It's, well, it kind of looks like I get a massive power upgrade sometime in my service as a Precure, since I've got a whole new costume, transformation device and magical attack.

[Phone - Yuna]

Hey Yuna, I got something cool in the mail. Want to get together so I can show it to you?

[Just whips the bracelet from his wrist, thrusting it back at his notdaughter.]

All right, I will! [Slides it back on.]

Precure Metamorphosis!

[In a burst of flames, Rin changed into her usual first-tier outfit. But just to add to it, she flipped open her CureMo.]

Mode change, Precure Metamorphosis!

[An even flashier blaze of flames shot out as she changed as she posed.] The red flame of passion, Cure Rouge!

Told you it only works for me.

". . . . . Show off."

[nozomisitter]

Yeah well, it happens. [She transformed back, pocketing her CureMo.]

[heardramonasing]

"What? Showing off or the fact that at least YOU can transform?"

[nozomisitter]

Geez, what's with the bee in your bonnet recently, Scott? You asked me to transform, so I did.

[heardramonasing]

"Well it's like.. Tsk-"

[Scott begins to rub the his temples, pacing as he does so.]

"It's like every body else in town has these awesome, crazy things they can do to impress people! Especially chicks, man! All I can do is pull a sword outta' my chest, and even then it doesn't always work because I have to be in love with the person I'm defending in order to do it!

You can't blame a guy for wanting a cool henshin thing to do, yeah?"

[nozomisitter]

Well there is that. Have you gotten that power back yet or no?

[heardramonasing]

"Yeah. I've got it back..

But it isn't like I can just go, "Oh hey! I love this girl! Wham! Sword! Flash flash cut cut win!""

[Scott begins to kick the ground in a sulking manner.]

"Especially since things seem to keep getting more hairy around here."

[nozomisitter]

I guess that would make sense. Without a stable relationship you can't deal any damage against anything.

[heardramonasing]

"And see!? That's my problem! I need some body to love! Don't I need some body to love?! Don't I want some body to love? I better find some body to love!"

[This terrible joke has been a long time coming. I apologize, Scott apologizes, I'm sure Jefferson Airplanes apologizes.]

[Rin scratches her head in thought.] Did you try to find a girlfriend beyond Miku?

[heardramonasing]

"No. Not really. I told her I liked her but I got the usual "you're just a friend" answer back. I can't blame her, though. Dating members of the band is weird, I guess.

But yeah, no luck in that department. Kinda' figures. Even after being here for almost two years I can't shake off my love life from back home."

[nozomisitter]

Mmm. Any luck powering that sword on something else besides love?

[heardramonasing]

"... Other than love??"

[Scott can only look back at Rin with the most perplexed of stares.]

"Such as.. ? I mean, what's stronger than love? Isn't that the greatest force the universe knows? Or am I just an idiot and there's some thing like adamantium made swords that you summon by thinking of Canadians and Wolverine?"

[nozomisitter]

Love is strong. But there's a lot of other forces out there that are just as powerful. Fighting for self-respect, others, etectera.

[heardramonasing]

"Self-respect? Where the hell am I suppose to get some of that at? Do I have any self-respect?

And isn't fighting for others technically love any ways?"

[nozomisitter]

Well if you don't think you have any self-respect then I can't really help with that.

Fighting for other people is friendship, not love. Love's different.

[heardramonasing]

". . . . .

But what if you love your friends? Like, you're supposed to love them, right?"

[nozomisitter]

There's different types of love too. Not just romantic love.

[heardramonasing]

[Wait... What?]

". . . . Huh?"

[THIS is a concept Scott doesn't grasp AT ALL! To Scott, love was love. He loved jelly beans, punk music, his brother's bass, Ramona Flowers, and occasionally a girl who had his fancy here in town. For there to be different levels of love?! Well.. This makes NO DAMN SENSE!]

"No damn sense at all!"

[Right, that's what I said, Scott.]

What do you think then when I say I love Nozomi? That I want to marry her? Be with her?

No.

It means I love her and will protect her, but this is a love of FRIENDSHIP than romantic love. It's the same way I love my friends, at varying degrees of friendly love and affection.

You need to get priorities straight "dad".

[heardramonasing]

"Yes. I DO think that!"

[Scott, having born witness to the exchange of mouthly fluids between women, doesn't also grasp the concept of "girls being just friends".]

"YOU need to get YOUR PRIORITIES straight.. Umm.. DAUGHTER! Man, it feels so weird to say that."
