[After the call from that Crowe kid, Booster went off to do as he said he would. To find that Magnus and Pony and tell them that Crowe and Zidane are OK, just trapped in some goofy parallel universe or something. Either way he walked up to the house and knocked on the door.]

Phone 1: Drone filters only

So uh yeah, apparently the missing people are stuck in some other world or something. Anyone have any plans on this? Maybe some sort of mad science, I don't know? I have a plan, but its all kind of over my head.

Action 2: Carnival

[Booster is now enacting his brilliant plan. At home he took a piece of wood and wrote "DANGER! STUPID PORTAL TO SOME PLACE WITH NO FOOD! DO NOT ENTER!" on it and nailed it to another one to make a sign. He's just walked up to the fun house and planted it in the ground. With a nod he lets out a breath face palms.]

Ted... WHAT is a Zeta beam? That's not what that goofy bikini gun of yours shot, is it?

It's what the League transporters use! Or at least a modified form of it, anyway. You know, that stuff that shoots Adam Strange over to Rann every so often?

[But now he's distracted with another, happier thought...]

I'd say the bikini cannon shot Bikini Beams, personally...there's some nice alliteration there...

Skeets isn't reporting any readings of them. Just lots of broken glass. Says its better than being stuck with Gardner's unmentionables, but not by much.

I wonder what broke the glass...the energy that took them, you think? Or someone just had a bad day and liked smashing things?

[Ted considers telling Booster to tell Skeets to let it go already, but he doesn't think that would end well...]

You know, given who all lives in this town, I'm putting my money on someone smashing things.

That and Skeets gets like that sometimes, ESPECIALLY after that Mr. Mind nonsense and Rip rebuilding him.

Yeah, that would make sense. Only question now is whether or not they did it on purpose or on accident.

[Uh-oh, that happened after Ted died. He has no idea what you're talking about, considering that he doesn't even really know that he actually did die.]

Probably on purpose. Its easy to get mad at this place.

And uh... Don't worry about it Ted, its not important. Not important at all.

You never know, there could have been some really clumsy idiot stumbling through there...or someone so freaked out by what happened in there they got all panicky. Those basements were harsh...

[He shrugs.]

Yeah, but those mirrors probably were pretty strong. The town likes to make its torments like that.

That and even if it did matter in a way I could explain it it wouldn't make a difference. Time travel stuff is a headache.

[He winces at the mention of time travel.]

I dunno though. Skeets isn't detecting any odd wavelengths or any rays of any sort. I'm kind of half tempted to see if I can just cause the whole place to collapse but if we need it to get people out...

I was never good at this part of the game.

Well, we can't panic. That just makes things worse...

[He's staring at the funhouse now, studying it.]

If only we had more information. I feel like I'm working blind here. Has anyone on the other side had any useful information?

Not that I got. I'm just looking at areas they say were damaged and seeing how that translates to this side. So far, it really doesn't translate well.

[He's setting up his equipment now.]

Maybe this will find something different since I made it out of stuff from the town itself. You never know...and maybe we should try getting a magic-user over here. You know, get another viewpoint on this.

Actually, yeah...but the ones I ran into in the basement didn't seem to have much of an idea as to what was going on here, either.

Well, I ran into Bazett, and she seemed nice enough, and then there was this unspeakably creepy girl...

Oh yeah... Bazett is okay, who's the creepy girl?

I think her name's Elizabeth. She was...it was just creepy, man.

Oh... Yeah... Her. She asks weird questions on the phone from time to time too. What is the color of freedom, how does hope taste.

She's about as confusing as any wizard who's been doing it so long you NEVER want to talk to.

Yeah, that sounds exactly like her. Try being stuck down there in the basement with her.

[He shudders at the memory.]

She spawned little people-things to go look around...

I don't think... She's actually human, but yeah. Creepy as hell.

That wouldn't surprise me. She's even creepier than that drone woman I wake up next to every morning.
