[action 1, around town, morning]

[ There's a new face in town -- a rather ordinary-looking young man of average height and build, with black hair, blue eyes, and a pleasant smile on his face. Hands stuffed into his pant pockets, he is walking down the sidewalk, seemingly minding his own business as he approaches a random pedestrian and-- ]

『Hiya!!』

[ --In an instant, he's all up in their grill, his smiling mug just inches away from theirs. ]

『Hello! Excuse me! You there! Yes, you! If you're not too busy, may I please have a moment of your time?』

[ And even after he finishes speaking, the young man continues to stand rather closely to the other person, totally invading their personal space.

And he is still smiling. ]

[action 2, late afternoon, 1649 albright]

[ After spending several hours trying to gather as much information as he could, and another hour or two trying to recall his address, Kumagawa once again finds himself at the front steps of his new "home" -- 1649 Albright Lane. Once inside, he removes his shoes, leaves them at the front door, steps into the living room and, after taking a deep breath, announces quite loudly: ]

『I'm hooooooome, my wonderful, caring, loving family!! I'm soooooo sorry for sneaking out while you were all asleep this morning, but I'm back now, and I'm determined to be the best family member I can possibly be!』

[ Yukko doesn't say anything.

She was going to, but this boy kept talking over her and she couldn't get anything out

And then when he stopped talking? She couldn't speak at all.

Because she noticed that he was really, really, really close to her.

Yukko gapes. She starts to shake.

Cute boy. Standing uncomfortably close to her. Smiling... ]

... w...wuuuuuaaaaahhhhh?

[ Unfortunately for Yukko, the young man makes no effort to back off, even after she starts trembling; he stands before her, all smiles, and cants his head to the side curiously. ]

『Eeeeh? What's wrong? Are you deaf or something? Did I not speak clearly enough?』

[ Fortunately for Yukko, he takes a step back at last, giving the poor girl some space. ]

『Ack! I must've stumbled on my words just now, without my realizing it! How embarrassing! I've gone and made a fool of myself, in front of a cute girl no less! What a terrible first impression!』

[ He doesn't seem all too bothered, though, because (surprise, surprise) he is still smiling. ]

[ Cute... Girl... Her?

Yukko is a trainwreck right now. She's shaking, she's stammering, she can't get a single coherent thought out. How is she supposed to react?? ]

N...No, i-it's fine, y-y-you're fine! G-Great first impression...

You must have me confused with someone else!

[ Because cute? Her?? How? ]

『Me? Confuse you for someone else? No way! I don't think I've ever met a cute girl like you before. I certainly would've remembered, then!』

『. . . Also, I am so relieved!! I'm glad I haven't sullied your impression of me.』

[ Kumagawa can tell he's making Yukko uncomfortable, what with all her trembling and stuttering, and so he keeps on flattering/teasing her.

Why? Because he is a jerk. ]

『Eheh! I always make it a point to look cool in front of cute girls like yourself!』
