13th Adventure
[Action A - Household, 7135 Brooks: Your kitchen is a total wreck today. Hurricane Aurora has passed though in an attempt to bake. There's flour everywhere, ingredients scattered, pots and pans overflowing the sink. The master baker herself is hovering (literally!) in the kitchen, looking over a recipe book. Her hair is tied up high on her head (as best as it could be), her apron has more flour on it than is probably used in recipes, and she's deep in thought as she mutters what she's reading aloud. ]
Let's see... oh no, did I add a tablespoon of the salt, or sugar?
[Being a ghost cook is suffering.]
--
[Action B: Brooks Street Out in front of their house, Aurora has set up a lovely little bake sale stand! It's decorated with colorful signs and flowers and streamers, and Aurora herself is all cleaned up and perfectly dressed. But the baked goods... Well, maybe they don't look as nice, but Aurora looks very excited for people to try them.
Here's the thing. Sometimes she got the recipe right. Sometimes she didn't. Maybe you got a good brownie or cookie, or maybe you didn't. Try at your own risk!]
--
[Action C - 1648 Albright Lane: There's a knock at the door! It's Aurora, looking a bit anxious and worried. She's carrying a small container of cookies, and she's looking to speak with Abel. Privately.]

So, um. How've you been?

If I do... you'll hold my hand in the dentist's chair, right? [f-ff loser... chuckling.....]
--Ah, I'm-- just fine! Just fine... [herp.] How about you~?

Oh, I'm good, I'm good. I managed to keep out of that scary zombie stuff. [Fidget fidget. She's thinking of a way of getting to the point of asking what she wants to ask, without harming Cain's wishes. Well, there's one way, but... Why does asking it seem so hard? She gets momentarily lost in thought.]

[...ahh. but he tilts his head a bit at that... and gives a quiet hum.]
I'm glad... None of that was very pleasant, was it? [something's definitely on her mind... if she doesn't bring it up, he might have to :(]

[Okay, she knows what she needs to do. Do this the hard way. She'll know the truth, and she won't go against Cain's wishes! Kinda sorta! Whatever. With a small sigh, and a worried look, Aurora turns those big grey eyes up to Abel.]
Um... Can I ask you something? A-And it's totally okay if it's not okay and you say no!

Really? A full house is a lot less lonely, isn't it? And a lot less creepy, too... [h-haha.] Does everyone get along?

a question... and she looks worried? ah.]
...Of course...
Is everything okay, Miss Aurora...?
I LACK APPROPRIATE ICONS FOR THIS SITUATION /flops
[And then she looks away again, her face turning red.] I was wondering if, ah... I-If you liked me! You know, um. Liked.
[Urge to flee
rising]
ASFHDKFK BAWW babby......... lmfao ;;;;; 1/2

he would have definitely taken this question obliviously different than intended, if his little brother hasn't told him that she--
...well.
looking awkward and... guilty, he averts his gaze momentarily and nudges at his glasses. there's a long pause; he's been thinking about this ever since Cain spilled the beans, and he'd almost convinced himself that it had to have been some misunderstanding. surely she didn't really mean that... like he SAID she'd meant it, right--? but.
he shifts his hands into his pockets, before he tentatively gives her a small smile.]
You're one of the people in this town that always makes me smile, no matter what else could happen in this town, Miss Aurora. Of course I like you... you're my friend, and I'm happy to be able to say that.
[but 'friend' is all it can be. that's all he can offer her. whatever she thinks she... wants-- she doesn't even know who he is at all, and she wouldn't want it at all if she did ;( she deserves so much better than the likes of him.]
1/2 these babbies ;_;
She looks sad for a moment, but she's a brave little trooper who pulls it together.]

Good! I-I'm glad for that. People come and go so fast in this town sometimes, so it's good to have friends.
[So many thoughts going on right now, you'll have to excuse her]

[there's sincerity in that, too -- but there's equal parts apology in it, too. to see her face fall like that makes him feel like the most wretched, and-- miserable man that ever lived, -because- he likes her so much. ;(]
That's why I'll always be your friend. [beyond that, he'd only hurt you too. disappoint her and-- he couldn't do that to her. ;;]
