[Conan is not a heavy sleeper. He cannot afford to be as he lives under a constant threat of danger. He's not paranoid. He has every right to be as cautious being in the situation he's currently stuck in. Or... was... stuck in. Being the cautious detective that he is he always made sure to leave a tiny lump in his sleeping mat when he rolled it out for the night. He made absolute sure that it would dig right into his middle so that if he was ever kidnapped from the Mouri residence he'd know right away that he wasn't on his mat and had somehow been moved.]
[So, when the siren starts to blare the young detective is easily awakened and jolts upright. These surroundings are foreign to him and definitely have a western feel to them. He notices right off that he's in a bed and not on a mat before blindly feeling for his glasses. Upon locating them, he shoves them on his face and presses the button for night vision-]
Ah le?
[-Nothing. How odd. The door is slightly ajar so Conan slips out of bed, still clad in his light green pajamas, and moves over to feel if there's a light switch-but that alarm is getting REALLY annoying and just might be taking priority. As silently as he possibly can, he's moving through the house and trying to quickly locate a way out.]

(... Someone new? Interesting time to make an entrance.)

[He just continues to blindly feel around the dark until he runs into something-or someone. It's warm and Conan can feel cotton- pajamas?]
A-ah! Sorry!
[He quickly steps back and tries to get a good look at the person he's just run into. No good. Too dark.]

[what was this guy after? There's no way Conan could know that. That noise is distracting him from making coherent deductions and he's only just arrived as far as he knows]
No, I literally just woke up.

[...That's an interesting choice of words considering it had not been his choice to come here]

1950s huh? So it's definitely a western style home and light switch is probably just out of his reach to the immediate right of the door leading out of the room.]
S-so.. what's that alarm? A nuclear power plant? It sounds kinda like a melt-down alarm.

[...interesting enough.]
...Ne, can you turn on the light? I think I'd feel better if I could see.

[And he flicks the light switch...]

Thanks!
... Do you think they'll turn that off soon? [That alarm was really starting to get on his nerves]

Anyway, my name is... [The klaxon continues to blare...] ... most people tend to just call me Kyon though.

I'm Edogawa Conan, nice to meet you, I guess. [considering the circumstances...]

(Of course, when it comes to Haruhi, you're always prepared for trouble. ... The only problem is that she makes it double what you were prepared for.)

You've been around some cases?

(... being held captive by a camel cricket in a pocket universe.)
And there was a murder while we were on vacation during the summer holidays, but it turned out to be a staged fake.
no subject
... [He's going to have to think about this for a minute] I may have lost count on how many murder cases I've been around-but it's probably close to 600.

(Unless Haruhi breaking the laws of nature counts.)

--At least, that's what I get from Oji-san, and Shinichi-niichan.
