[Early in the morning, before school, Marisa takes the time to place a multilayer ward about her residence and its yard. It has three specific wards, powerful wards - one each to bar The Major, Bazett, and any troll with tyrian purple blood from the property. There is also a subtler ward cast that will target any non-resident (Merem isn't affected) that tries to significantly harm another while on the property through a combination binding/paralyzing effect. Those with a strong enough magic ability could break the wards, but the general feeling about them is that it would be a bad idea with how well they are woven.

The casting can easily be felt by anyone with the slightest bit of magical sensing.]


[Action - School]

[Marisa is sitting in the cafeteria, completely ignoring her yummy homemade lunch, and seems to be working on a map of sorts. Her brow furrows as she wads up the paper and throws it at the nearby garbage can - missing it - and starts over again. She's going to end up going through a lot of paper at this rate.]

So... I can't remember where everyone lives. Like the addresses and how to get to some place. [It pains her to have to admit this.] I need you all, if you're my friends or allies or just people I like to bug - especially everyone from Gensokyo - to remind me.

I know what a bounded field is, ze. I can make them, too. A ward is different than a bounded field through its base magical formula and composition.

[Now that she looks at the wards carefully, she can see something different from the usual bounded field. From just a look, it seemed to be a bounded field, but in truth, it was something completely different.]

What was you intention in creating this field? Protecting yourself and your assigned family?

And to keep certain people out. Why else would I ward my house with something this complex?

[Marisa sits down on the edge of the roof and casually starts tossing Mini-Hakkero up into the air like it's a tennis ball, catching it and then repeating.]

From the effects of the wards, I would guess that I am one of those people? Why?

[She frowns, but does not say anything about this. Kirisame is entitled to her own opinion.]

Ciel also lives in this house. Sometimes I wish to consult her about certain happenings.

[It would be bothersome if she had to break down the wards every time she wanted to talk to Ciel in person.]

[Her lips quirk a little.] It's not like Ciel doesn't know about this.

[She would do her best to respect Kirisame and Ciel's desires, but she would make no guarantees about toxin based mind control.]

I understand that you do not wish to have me on your property, but if you are ever in need of assistance, like if you get drunk and locked out of your own house, or if you are seeking asylum from an enemy, then do not hesitate to come over to my house.

Yeah, no. You ain't gonna be the one I go to if I ever need that kinda help. I have no reason to trust you, especially since you've already gone and attacked one of this house's guests unprovoked. You're a loose canon, ze.

And that's saying something coming from me.

...He threatened to kill everyone there. I simply failed to notice that it was a joke.

[Bazett, when it came to death threats, usually took jokes too seriously. Ironically, should anyone fail to declare their evil intentions, she was oddly obtuse when it came to seeing hints.]

Wow. Now that's special. [sarcasm] How ever do you manage to do that job you're so tied to that you can't think beyond it?

I am not a tool. I am a knight. I am devoted to my duty and do my utmost to fulfil it.

[Kirisame has hit a soft spot. Bazett is, in many ways, a tool of the Association and of her superior. The sad thing is, she believes that her work is the only thing she has in her life since she is estranged from her family and has no friends.]

[Marisa gives a dismissive gesture and jumps off the roof, landing easily on the ground so she could head inside.]

Go bother someone else, ze. I've got school to get to.

[Without another word, Bazett turns around and heads back to her house. She already knows all that she needs to know. There is no need to bother Kirisame any longer.]
