I know not everyone here is from Earth, but today's Saint Patrick's Day and I for one am far too fond of Ireland to spend it sober. It's just disrespectful not to drink, really. [And she hasn't had a drink in forever, which just seems weird in and of itself.] So who's in for meeting me at the tavern? Wear green.

B: Olney's Tavern

[The beer here is awful, of course, but there'll be a peppy, slender blonde with a green ribbon in her hair ignoring the fact that women aren't "supposed" to be drinking and looking like she's trying to drink the whole town under the table. If she can get anyone to join her in a round or two of decent drinking songs, that'll be happening. It's only respectful, you know. Not that it's fun at all.

[He didn't really have any special affection for Ireland, but the fact that Canada put that bow in her hair, looked so nice, and wanted to go to the tavern was all he needed. So he'd gladly wear an orange polo with a small green stripe in it and join her, already having finished a beer. Any of the drones or employees who give her a look with get such a glare, his meanest one.

He looks back at Canada, the traces of one of those glares still on his face.]

[mounties]

[Well, then, she'll just frown right back at him.]

You don't have to stay if you're not enjoying yourself.

[gezellig]

I'm fine.

[He'll look a little surprised, not realizing the frown he had been wearing, so not expecting her to frown.]

You wanted to come, right?

[mounties]

Of course I did. It's Saint Pat's.

[And now she's just confused, because with a raising like hers, could she really miss this? A certain family member not present would be terribly let down.]

[gezellig]

Well, here we are.

[Then he'll slide his glass over to hers, give his a bit of a knock against it, then take a long swallow.]

[mounties]

Mmhm. [Staring at him a moment, before tipping her glass his way.]

Cheers.

[She'll just down the rest of this and quickly get herself another, no worries. Something about him makes her wish she could get good and drunk. Maybe him and all her feelings for him would make sense, then.]

[gezellig]

[He'll set it back down with a content sigh.]

Should do this every Saturday.

[mounties]

That would be fun. I miss getting to drink.

[gezellig]

If you'd said that, I'd have brought more to drink home.

[Aaaand finishing that glass. 1 down, many to go.]

[mounties]

That's hardly necessary. I don't think it's proper for a lady to drink.

[Except when the bartender comes back to them, she orders a shot for them both, because she can.]

It's nice to forget things sometimes.

[He'll just be downing that, thanks.]

[Her shot is downed and the empty glass on the bar before she responds.] I suppose. But still.

[He'll glance over at her, then give a heavy sigh.]

I keep forgetting that you're from the past.

[mounties]

[And she's not sure how to take that.]

[The Canada he knew would even smoke with him, occasionally.]

[mounties]

[After getting another drink, she'll glance at him curiously.]

Is he terribly different from me?

[gezellig]

In some ways he is. Times have really changed since your decade.

[He'll consider carefully.]

The differences aren't bad.

[mounties]

Change is good, I guess. If it's for the better. Not that I can really believe things could get any worse than they've been...

Tell me about him? As you know him, I mean. Please?

[gezellig]

He's nice to be around. Peaceful, more peaceful than Europe.

He doesn't mind me exactly as I am, and I never have any reason to lose my temper with him.

[A slight grin.]
When it comes to hockey, he's very entertaining.

[mounties]

[She smiles at the obviously fond description, and laughs at the hockey remark.]

I should hope so. It's a fine sport.

He sounds nice, though. I'm glad he's your friend.

[gezellig]

Me too.

[In so many ways.]

I'm glad you're my friend too, though.

[mounties]

[She reaches over to squeeze his thigh, still smiling warmly.]

So am I. It's been really nice getting to know you.

[gezellig]

It was confusing at first, but I can see some of the same things in both of you.

You're different from him though.

[mounties]

So long as you don't... think it's a bad thing, or anything like that, I guess that's good. I hope it doesn't make you uncomfortable. I know we're not exactly... well, never mind.

[How to articulate "we are kissing a fair bit and I am not sure you do that with Matthew" is something she does not know.]
