[ Sam had been in enough weird situations that weird was... well, it was pretty normal. It didn't mean that she expected anything or it didn't affect her but she was less thrown by it when it happened. And apparently today it happened.

After saving Earth (again) and making a start on the paperwork Sam had grabbed one of the rooms at the SGC; she'd been too tired to want to attempt to go home and with the time that it was? Staying had been marginally easier.

Except when she awoke? Something felt wrong. The feeling in her gut was her first trigger to it, the one that she always got when something was wrong. After thirteen years she trusted it and despite the fact that she hadn't slept for long she wasn't ignoring it. On opening her eyes that feeling was worse - it wasn't the SGC, if anything it was more like the dream world that Fifth had created and that was bad ]

Oh boy. This... this isn't good.

[ Which was an understatement of the century ]

The last time this happened there wasn't anyone there other than the person that did this and somehow I don't think that's the case this time. [ She was a little wary and knew not to judge (or rule out, in this case) by appearance but with other messages over the phone? It seemed a little less likely ]

Numerous people kidnapped and stuck in some... town? And even if the natives were here they might not be any more help. Damn. [ All of this is far too familiar for her, although given that they'd defeated the last few aliens that did things resembling this? A new one popping up suddently was worrying ]

And this is a long shot but it's still worth asking: has anyone been given a purpose as to why we're here?

[ After finding clothes, talking and forming ideas for a little while Sam's off out in town. What she's looking for? She wouldn't say to anyone but hopefully an answer, or something that someone unaware might not have known of. Whilst people native to their planets might have known about the Stargate if these people weren't from here or didn't have a Stargate? They wouldn't know. So she's looking, and hoping a little ]

Not lost, looking. [ Not that she knew her way around but technicalities ] But I did. You've been here for a while?

Over a year. Still somewhat looking for a way out.

That's worrying. What about the others here? I've seen them but haven't asked how long it's been.

Some have been here longer than me, many far less. This place seems to get to the weak of heart at around a year.

What do you mean 'get to'? What happens to them?

When this place is done with you... What is left is a drone.

Now it could be argued you go home, or others think it swallows your soul. But in the end there is a drone you here being inane and stupid.

Then we need to get out before that happens.

I've been looking for a way out my whole time here, I just haven't found a way yet.

Have you ever been a drone?

People say I was for a week or so. I don't remember. I remember waking up back home with no memory of this place and living almost 3 full years before waking up back here.

Do you know if that's the same for others, them being at home while they're a drone?

From what I have heard it is, that being said other people say it destroys your soul when you are made a drone.

I do not have any data to support that one though.

If they destroy your soul it would make it hard to be turned back, unless something else happened in that too.

If something like that even exists.

It's probable. I haven't seen anything before that could do it but I don't doubt that it could be done.

I generally like to see scientific proof of things like that existing, but given how things are here... It is best to take some things simply on faith.

I wouldn't say no to seeing the science either. [ But believing it on faith? Well, she'd seen a lot that it was easier to assume that something could be done and work it out later ]

This place pulls from a number of different realities that don't all have the same rules of physics.

But there will be things in common otherwise it would make difficult for us to be here.

True, but that still leads to far many too possibilities for easy classification.

Not unless we can narrow it down enough.

I have a super computer and have been analyzing this place to try and find a way out. Really that's it. I'm just another prisoner, but we all have talents.
