[001] Chase the Morning
[432 Peepers Street | Morning]
[Mag doesn't remember falling asleep. She remembers getting dressed for her song, sliding on the talons she'd personally picked and bought for her final performance and then...nothing.
There's nothing familiar about the mattress underneath her. Or about the smell of the pillow and the feel of the sheets against her skin. Where is she? Did she faint and have to be taken somewhere? She finally opens her eyes, groggy from what feels like a long night's sleep-
Nothing but blackness. Mag lets out a sharp cry of surprise as she jerks upward in bed. What's going on, why can't she see?]
[Around Mayfield | Afternoon]
[Later in the day, Mag can be found on the streets of Mayfield. She'll be around; in the park, downtown and passing by houses. Best to familiarize herself with her new surroundings now.
But she's not alone. Her new[Bad username or unknown identity: "husband"] is by her side everywhere she goes, hovering around her and fussing like a mother hen. Every once in a while Nathan fumbles to take her hand and guide her. Mag is less than pleased with the attention, swatting him away at every chance.]
[OOC: Since Mag is blind at the moment and Nathan is a fussbucket, there's a high chance of being tagged by both him and Mag on the mean streets of Mayfield.]

Morning!
...what? Hesitation keeps him rooted to the landing, fingers resting on the newel post. That isn't a sound he's heard from the drone before, shot through with...shock?
He could leave. He could go and leave her to whatever it is the drone is up to, throw himself into his work and ignore it. His work as a physician, a healer, what he always wanted to be from the beginning before...before everything. As much as he doesn't want to engage in any form or fashion with the drone, he sets his mouth in a line and walks back to the master bedroom door. It stands slightly ajar, and he only has to nudge it open further to poke his head in.
If she's fine? He's out of there like the devil's on his heels.]
...Are you-
['all right' freezes in his throat, his heart dropping to his feet. The flaxen-haired false wife is gone, replaced by someone he knows very well.]
Mag?

Nathan?
[Her mind is racing. Is this his doing? Did he have a change of heart and listen to his daughter to save her from GeneCo's wrath? Has she really been kidnapped by Nathan Wallace? But that wouldn't explain her sudden revision into blindness.
Unless...her hands fly to her face, running fingertips around her eye sockets. Still there. So she hasn't lost her eyes, just her sight. Just like when she was a child.]
What happened? What did you do?
no subject
Her eyes. When her hands move to her face he feels compelled to step forward, to...assure her? How, exactly?]
I didn't take them.
[He has at least a modicum of understanding for how she's feeling, the fear and the unknown itself almost crushing. Nathan almost sinks onto the mattress's edge, but chooses the cedar chest at the bed's end instead, not wishing to crowd her.]
You're in a town called Mayfield, in the 1950's. People are taken from their homes and placed here, trapped by leaders in the town. I don't know how, I don't know why, I only woke up here myself last week.

Nathan, do you know how you sound right now? [Crazy, that's how he sounds.]
no subject
I thought as much when I first got here. Especially... [Especially since I should be dead, but he falls silent.]
Afternoon
Good afternoon Miss! And Mister Nathan too-it's good to see you again!
Afternoon
Hana.
[Wait wait, shifting gears...he instinctively goes to take Mag by the elbow and stops short.]
It's uh- nice to see you too. This is... [My friend? My wife's friend? My new wi- absolutely not. Human interaction, how does he do these things?] ...Mag. Mag, this is Hanatarou.
Afternoon
[He's trying to help out, in a way. Politely without being overbearing.Besides...housemate is easier to explain then friend, right? Or Dead wife's best friend.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Hanatarou.

Around Mayfield
Hallo, Nathan. I didn't know you kept such lovely company.
no subject
A friend of yours, Nathan?
[She's smiling but it's more than a little uncertain.]

Mag, this is Crowley. We met my first day in town.
Crowley, Mag is...she's just arrived.
lololol I'm good at this.
[There's something a little off about how her gaze is unfocused and not quite.... Hmm...
Still, the demon takes her hand in his and lifts it up to kiss the back of it.]
I work over at Olney's Tavern, So if you're ever in need of libations...
[Around Mayfield | Afternoon]
[But something about the air surrounding them makes it seem different. It shouldn’t be her business, but an inquisitiveness strikes her and she is asks as they draw nearer.]
Is everything alright?
