[For those of you venturing into Mayfield's library today, you can find the head librarian hard at work at the front desk or shelving books. Most people who try to approach her will simply get a stern look and a reminder to keep their voices down.

If you happen to have something of hers though, you may get quite a different reaction...]

[OOC: This post is locked to characters who have a memento. Please do not reply if you don't have one. For those who do, you can go ahead and respond in any order; however, day 7's memento will be chronologically the last one she'll see.]

Day 3 Memento - Jewelry Box

[It took Nozomi a while to work up the nerve to do so, but the note DID say that these mementos would rattle something in her. So, approaching the librarian, jewelry box in hand, she went to get her attention.]

Excuse me?

[mayfield_mods]

Yes, what is it? Do you need help finding a book?

[its_decided]

Well... not really, just... [And she holds out the jewelry box towards the librarian.] I think it's yours.

[mayfield_mods]

Hmm? That's nice, but you'll still have to pay late fees no matter what you try to give --

[Her voice stutters when she sees the box. When she opens her mouth again, it comes out much more quietly and timidly.]

Wh-where did you get that...?

Day 4 Memento - Photograph

[Gentarou eases his way into the library. He's gripping the photograph as carefully as he can.]

This place has some kinda weird aura to it....

Yeah, I think it's saying 'help I'm turning into a huge dork'.

[After their amazing survival, Beast Boy has decided he ought to give Terra some time to rest. They could handle this part.]

So we're just giving it to her, right?

Y-yeah.

[To him...it's more a 'Tomoko is acting weird and scary again' aura.]

I'll be right behind ya if she turns into a giant tentacled bug-eyed monster with four heads.

day 7 - yellow flower

[Annie has legitimately never been in a library before. At least, not that she can remember. Books are for nerds; why would she even need to? But, now she has to be in a library, and it's pretty lame, considering what she's here for.

She sidles up to the front desk all casual-like. The flower is in her back pocket.]

So, um, like. You're Annie, right?

[The librarian's at the front desk, staring at her hands and looking pale and shaken.]

Yes. [She shakes her head.] I - I mean, no, no, I don't - I've never heard of her.

Shit, it's cool, though! My name's Annie, too! [She leans onto the desk, grinning.] So, like, is yours short for something? Like, mine's short for Annabelle-- and you can totally call me that, since having two Annies is kinda confusing as fuck.

[mayfield_mods]

It's not - it's not short for anything.

[She swallows, shakes her head again.] The library is closed, Annabelle. You need to...you need to go home.

day 2 - CD

[ Rin has personally never been fond of the library. Every time she showed up here, the only books available for her to rent out had to do with cooking or flower arrangement. Things that didn't really interest her and therefore left her more frustrated than anything else. At least this time she isn't alone though as she steps in with Locke.

While she isn't too familiar with him, he did come to inquire about the memento that was left in Heather's possession. A great deal of Rin's bad mood has to do with the fact she just lost her 'sister', so she'll project it more than usual when she approaches Annie. ]

Hey. What's your name? [ In a louder tone: ] Come on, I don't have all day.

[Locke was a little upset about the loss of Heather... but he knew it was better to keep a calm head. He glanced to the other when she raised her voice. Then again, if he were the one speaking ...</small]

Shh! Keep your voices down, this is a library. Honestly, you young ones, don't they teach kids any manners these days?

[gandere]

I have plenty of manners. [ Scoffing. ] Just rarely a desire to use them in an environment this hostile.

[ Looking back towards Locke, she wonders if she should proceed or not. ] Er, besides, you should be a little nicer towards us because we have something that belongs to you.

Day 5 - Tiara

[Fate comes in her casual clothes, rather than her Barrier Jacket. She's suspicious about this, but not to the point where she becomes blind and directs suspicion towards herself. She even waits until the library is fairly empty - or at least until the other patrons are off in their own little corners - before approaching with the tiara in one hand.]

Excuse me, may I speak to you for a moment?

I'm afraid I'm very busy, dear. These books aren't going to shelve themselves.

[thunderace]

It will only take a moment, I promise. [She holds up the tiara.] I just want to ask about this, that's all.

Day 1 - Necklace

(Welp...this is it. This is the place the letter said they had to bring those mementos. Bringing down the town meant showing these things to the librarian, so that's just what Asagi will do. It's like getting a role as the lead character! She did get the first one in the first portal, after all.

Regardless, Asagi approaches the librarian with the necklace in her pocket.)

Hey. You're Annie, right? We need to talk.

[mayfield_mods]

[The librarian starts, giving Asagi a strange look.]

I'm sorry, you must have me mistaken for someone else.

If I do, then Grey does, too.

(With little to no subtlety, Asagi presents the necklace to her.)

He set up a whole fetch quest for you, you know.

Day 6 - Photograph

[Why are they even here. There has to be a better place to take this thing than the library.]

[Regardless, he pulls up, following Jolt. Once there, he transforms, and eases the bit of paper out of concealment. He holds it out to the other 'bot.]

Here. You're shorter. You'll fit better.

[electrowhipit]

Really, Sideswipe? [ Jolt doesn't bother to transform. His hologram simply shimmers into being and holds out a hand for the picture.

With the photo in hand, "Jolt" walks into the library and up to the desk, Sideswipe's own hologram trailing behind. ]

Um, excuse me?

Yes. Really.

[That said, he rolls his optics... but does the same, following after him without another word.]
