[For those of you venturing into Mayfield's library today, you can find the head librarian hard at work at the front desk or shelving books. Most people who try to approach her will simply get a stern look and a reminder to keep their voices down.

If you happen to have something of hers though, you may get quite a different reaction...]

Maybe it's a chess piece or a tea kettle or something. I found it on an island, if that helps; really simple first level stuff, but it was definitely an island.

[Her voice abruptly becomes young and haughty.]

It's a sun, stupid! How does that look anything like a tea kettle?

Bitch, don't get snippy with me; I'm just trying to help. If you don't want it, I'll take this damn thing elsewhere.

(She folds her arms. Not too happy right now, but whatever.)

Whatever; it's a sun. That supposed to remind you that can use a tan or some plot-related shit?

[She makes a grab for the necklace.] You can't do that, it's mine! I'll - I'll call the cops on you if you do!

No, it's...[she shakes her head.] I don't know, but I know I bought it for a reason. Give it back!

(She's hesitant for the moment, but remembers that if she wants to have significance, she can't bitch out like this. After calming herself down, Asagi returns the necklace and places her hands in her pockets.)

Alright, alright. You bought this sun-shaped necklace...was it for someone else?

[She puts the necklace on, staring down at the pendant.]

No, it was for me. I saw it in a shop and I bought it because...because of my name.

"Annie...?" Is that what this is for? To remember who you really are or something?

Annie Sun. My full name. It was just a joke, just a dumb pun and I thought it was pretty...I didn't think they would actually make me forget.

This place makes everyone forget if they're not careful. It does things to you to make sure you live by its standards. I guess not even people working here are safe...it is pretty, though. The necklace and the name.

Thanks. [She wraps a hand around the pendant.] I'm sorry, I wish I could help you in return, but I don't know what I can do. Everything I once knew, he's taken from me - even my own face and name.

(She scratches her chin in thought. When she speaks again, it's in a whisper.)

...actually, there is something. I'm not the only one with something that'll jog your memory; there are others who'll come by to give you six things from the other places, thanks to "You Know Who." If you can, use them to help you get back whatever those jerks took from you: name, face, memories, all that jazz. That'll give 'em a good kick in the dick.

[She swallows, desperate hope warring with bitter resignation on her face.]

[And then she blinks once and shuffles back, her demeanor completely returning to that of a frail old lady.]

Sorry, what book were you looking for again?

(With that, Asagi makes for the exit. She played her part and that's about it. Sure it's another side character role, but it's a step up from a cameo appearance. This is plot significance! Yay!)
