I got a call today from the elementary school asking me to turn in my curriculum for next year.  Is that kind of thing normal?  Did the rest of you get your jobs this way?  I guess it could be worse, though - teaching spelling to a bunch of kids doesn't sound that bad.

[Well, with job-related things out of the way, Kariya has decided to focus on more immediate concerns - shopping for food for that picnic he promised to take Rin and Sakura on.  He can be found in various places throughout the store loading up on all kinds of things - lunchmeat and all sorts of fresh veggies for sandwich fixings, sodas and other kinds of easily portable drinks, and so on.  He's pretty sure that Rider and Lancer are going to crash the party too, so the cart's getting pretty full since he's planning on feeding three people and two Servants.]

[A pause.]

How is your training going?

It's fine. Rin's going to train me.

[answerer_sword]

I understand. And does she know about the condition of your crest? Does she have a method to help you adjust to it?

[waiting_for_the_worms]

All I have back are my circuits. They're fine by themselves.

[answerer_sword]

Do you have any backup plans, just in case? Or are you saving that for when you receive your crest back?

...And if there was a possibility that one of the residents here has the ability to find you a cure, would you cooperate with them?

Oh, that sort of thing is normal, Uncle Kariya. [ Rin's voice is a bit too enthusiastic to be her usual, almost as though she's trying to cover up her true feelings. ] It's a good thing you have a school-related job because of how many holidays there are. When Archer worked as a mechanic, he still had to go to work or risk becoming droned. It was hectic during holidays due to how this town usually does them, so you should be grateful. Most of the time you won't have to actually work and therefore the risk of becoming droned is minimal.

Oh... well, that's good. And at least I won't have to worry about going in to work for another month or so.

[He's a little confused at her tone, but not knowing what's wrong yet, he's keeping it to himself.]

Yeah, but the elementary school..? [ A sigh. ] There's always a downside to these things. At least we have next summer if you...

[ Don't end up droned by then. No one lasts as long as her. Only Minato did and he left her too. ]

Well, it's not as if I'm really qualified to teach anyway. At least there I've got a chance of being smarter than the students.

[He laughs a little, trying to lighten the mood.]

Ooooh, so that's what all this is then. [She motions her head to his cart.] I hope you guys have fun!
