I got a call today from the elementary school asking me to turn in my curriculum for next year.  Is that kind of thing normal?  Did the rest of you get your jobs this way?  I guess it could be worse, though - teaching spelling to a bunch of kids doesn't sound that bad.

[Well, with job-related things out of the way, Kariya has decided to focus on more immediate concerns - shopping for food for that picnic he promised to take Rin and Sakura on.  He can be found in various places throughout the store loading up on all kinds of things - lunchmeat and all sorts of fresh veggies for sandwich fixings, sodas and other kinds of easily portable drinks, and so on.  He's pretty sure that Rider and Lancer are going to crash the party too, so the cart's getting pretty full since he's planning on feeding three people and two Servants.]

Oh, there's no need for that. I can take the academic hit for the first time in my entire life.

From Rider... geez, now I'm really starting to feel guilty. I could just ask father instead, I suppose.

[Yeah, that was a little louder and more severe than he probably intended.]

...Ah, I mean, don't worry. I'll come up with the money.

[ Right, he doesn't really like her father. Then again, does her father really like her? After their last conversation... ]

Sorry Uncle Kariya. It's just that Rider and I are close in a strange manner. I'd feel rotten taking her money when it's probably going to Sakura.

Then I'll find a way to come up with the money on my own. Don't worry about it.

You really don't have to... [ Especially since now she feels guilty for bringing her father up. ]

Besides, an adult should provide for themselves. I'll just get a job too.

I thought the town decided when it wants you to have a job.

[ She wishes. Sadly, she's a pile of teenage angst. ]

It can't send me to school again.

[ No, dreams can never come true here. Sadly, she can't tell that to her uncle who still holds some hope here in Mayfield. ]

You're here and Sakura is here, so I guess that's as good as an answer as any.
