Action. [Outside 1449 Mitchell Rd, Lily is casting lumos against the second floor bedroom window over and over again, until it's too obnoxious for the person inside to ignore it]



Action. [At 1485 Kramden Rd, Lily had successfully removed the drone parents for the afternoon, keeping them firmly outside the house with a shield charm as she rummages noisily in their bedroom and the livingroom.]


Action. [Outside Mayfield Elementary, Lily passes the time by kicking random pebbles into the wall, waiting for the eventual stream of school children to exit.]

Actually though, we had plans for after school. He and I were going to become Aourers. We were going to fight in the war.

For some reason I don't expect any less of you. [Lily wants to laugh it off, but it comes out in a strangled sound that could be a sob. Aurors. And then the inevitable happens. It's almost too predictable.] I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me. This is not right.

[he looks at her, jaw set and eyes honest.]

I promise. Even if we'd never met you we would have fought. James has never believed in what that bastard was spouting and he taught me that it was wrong. We're Gryffindors, the cannon fodder of Hogwarts. It's what we do.

[Eyes stinging, Lily misses the honest, determined look in Sirius's eyes. She chokes back a breath before looking up. she's not going to cry here, of all places.] I just... I didn't want it to be like that.

Then we'll make sure it's not. We know things now we didn't then.

[With a shaky hand, Lily squeezes Sirius's knee, nodding her understanding as she clams back the last of her sobs into quiet breaths. A long moment passes before she speaks again.] Heavens, can you imagine James and married?

[Sirius couldn't help laughing.]

Yeah, he doesn't talk about much else but what he'll do once he's finally convinced you to marry him. It mostly involves kissing. And burnt toast.

[bespell]

[The fact that Potter actually daydreams about it more than the average girls makes her cheeks pink and her shoulders shake with chuckles.] Doesn't make much to make him happy, yeah?

Only when it comes to you. Otherwise he's a pretty problematic bloke.

[Actually James was the easiest of all of them. It was just fun to tease him.]

[Lily's calmed down somewhat. She's not used to breaking down, let alone infront of a bloke. It's easier to talk about someone else, even if it's someone else talking about her.]

Good for him, I guess. I don't think I would mind it much.

[Sirius wrapped an arm around Lily, pulling her close.]

We'll get him back.

Maybe it's for the best he's escaped this place. [She rests her head on Sirius's shoulder.] Although I'll miss all the snogging. Good kisser, he was.

So he told me. [She quips good naturedly, glancing at the closet where the drone must have tired himself out. She used to feel sympathy for the poor mindless drone, but now she can understand Black's anger. She's frustrated, herself.]

When they don't have faces on people you care about it's a lot easier to just ignore them.
