Action. [Outside 1449 Mitchell Rd, Lily is casting lumos against the second floor bedroom window over and over again, until it's too obnoxious for the person inside to ignore it]



Action. [At 1485 Kramden Rd, Lily had successfully removed the drone parents for the afternoon, keeping them firmly outside the house with a shield charm as she rummages noisily in their bedroom and the livingroom.]


Action. [Outside Mayfield Elementary, Lily passes the time by kicking random pebbles into the wall, waiting for the eventual stream of school children to exit.]

Whatever you like. I'm sure they have all sort at the Shop. [He does have James's affinity for sweets, she notices, and her smile turns sad.]

What kind do you like though? [He smiled, shouldering his bag and waving at a few of the drone kids as the walked the other way.] And what kind does...did James like?

Pistachio ice cream, definitely. Especially when it's slightly melted. [She twists the handle to turn the corner.] I saw James finish off two helpings of chocolate and strawberry, once. I reckon that's what he liked.

[Harry nodded. Chocolate and strawberry were his favourite too. But he didn't mind lemon either.] Never tried pistachio before.

[bespell]

The best kind has nuts in it. It's heavenly.

[She rights the bike, making some space behind her.] Let's go. This is faster.

[scarredglasses]

I'll certainly try it.

[He looks a little unsure at the bike.] Um...I think I'll walk.

[bespell]

I've never fallen off a bicycle before [a pity she can't say the same for brooms.] Don't worry. This is the one with the right brakes.

Or are you too scared?

[scarredglasses]

I'm not scared! [Frowny face.] I'd just rather walk! [And he storms off in the direction of the ice cream shop.]

[Aw, shucks] But what if I get there first?

[scarredglasses]

Then you get there first. [What's the big deal?]

[bespell]

Then it wouldn't be as fun...

[scarredglasses]

The fun is the ice cream.

[bespell]

You're too sensible. I like that. [He's less like James, like that. It fills Lily with a contented feeling, and it's not long before they arrive at the shop where she chains the bicycle outside.


She's too afraid to contemplate whether Tuney's ever allowed him ice cream.]

I am not too sensible! [He was not in a good mood when they arrived but he soon cheered up at all the flavours he could pick. He'd never really had a choice before.]

[bespell]

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about being too sensible. That's how it is. [He's raced her to the counter before she can step inside herself, and she makes her way through the crowd of overeager and recently released teenagers filling the shop.]

See anything you like?

Yeah! Everything!

[bespell]

Well, everything does look good. [She doubts Harry would eat everything, but it's been a while since she was a child herself.] Hard to choose, isn't it?

[scarredglasses]

[Harry nodded.] Yeah. [He eventually chose the three flavours that had been mentioned earlier. Surely he liked what his parents liked?]

[bespell]

[Lily gets two flavors, herself, pushing her way towards the high stools. They're not as romantic as the booths, where all the teenagers are clustered in currently.] Does that taste as good as it looks?

[Harry nodded politely. The chocolate and the strawberry were great, but the nuts didn't add anything in his opinion.]

[She finishes her own ice cream in silence, going through the script in her head for how to approach the topic at hand with Harry.]

[scarredglasses]

[He finished the treat and stood up.] Thanks for the ice cream. I'll see you later, yeah?

[bespell]

Hey, Harry.

Before you leave, I need to tell you something. It's about James.

[scarredglasses]

Um...okay.

[He sat back down and waited.] What is it?

[bespell]

He's gone back, we think. He's left this place.
