"Finding Yourself in a 'Routine Plot'"

[Its been a few days since the postman delivered a letter with a small card on it and a larger box, after receiving it Ruri disappeared into the Nadesico, only coming out every so often to not be droned]

Action 1 - Downtown

[Ruri is downtown, she's got a large bag and is walking into various stores and picking up random clothes, makeup, and other things she NEVER gets. She has her usual deadpan attitude, especially with dealing with drone shop keepers.]

Phone - Drone Filtered

The town has returned to me the Nadesico's television studio. I've also picked up some things for costumes so if anyone would like to make use of it to film anything, we can talk about setting up time and compensation.

Also, the Nadesico has had a broadcast channel for a while, so if some of the more scientifically or mechanically inclined people would like to help me see if we can't use it to pirate one of the 7 channels on the television that aren't used, we may be able to provide more of a service to the town.

Action 2 - 947 Beulah Street

[Ruri is hanging some of her acquisitions in the Nadesico's main hangar. She's visible from the ground as she left the ramp open and is currently hanging a nurse's uniform while humming something to herself]

[She watches him go by and follows, with a curious look. Hoping that he doesn't cook "with love"]

[He's so focused on making sure he gets it right that he doesn't even notice he's being watched. Instead he's following the step by step instructions Edward gave him in their lessons, and barring a screw-up of epic proportions, Ruri is getting some homemade chicken parm this evening!]

[Ruri will quietly watch for a while, see his technique, how he utilizes the kitchen, make sure it won't turn purple and brown OR toxic and once she's convinced there will be no Mystery Food X! she nods and heads back to her organizing.]

[Indeed, there is no purple, brown, or toxicity! It's still Yosuke and not a master chef, so it might get a little burnt in the oven, but all things considered it turns out okay! It does take a while, though, since Ed insisted on doing everything from scratch. Stupid tiny alchemist...]

[But then it's done! And he's... not sure where the dining area is]

[Its a cafeteria style kitchen. The dining area is visible from the stoves. Ruri however is back at the TV area working.]

[THE DAY IS SAVED! Sort of. The food is easily transported, but now what? There has to be some sort of intercom system, right? So he starts scanning the walls for buttons to press. Nothing could go wrong!]

[Sadly no buttons at all]

[What kind of spaceship doesn't have an intercom?! Yosuke makes a mental note to gripe about this later. In the meantime he'll start searching the ship, though it doesn't exactly take long to find her]

Hey, Ruri! Dinner's ready!

Did you bring it? You should have just asked Omoikane to let me know.

No, you'll have to come to the cafeteria. And I tried looking for an intercom! It's not my fault I don't really get highly advanced spaceships yet!

[hontobakabaka]

Just... Ask. Omoikane is the ship and can summon holo panels. I gave you access to that.

[She nods a bit]

I know, I know! But come on, it's not like I'm from a time where holo panels are a thing. It's easy to forget that stuff, especially when I'm focused on not poisoning us.

There was that movie where the fellow from Scotland just went "Hello computer" and it did things. Just think of it like that.

Okay, I'll learn how to use the computer! Now can we focus on the fact that I cooked something I'm pretty sure is non-toxic?

[hontobakabaka]

[She smiles and nods, moving up next to him]

Sure. What did you make?

[princeofjunes]

It's called chicken parm - at least that's what Ed told me. And it smells good! And looks normal!

[hontobakabaka]

Hrm...

[She peers over it and nods]

It does.

[princeofjunes]

I just... I wanted us to have a romantic night, you know? Homemade dinner and all that.

You deserve it.

[hontobakabaka]

[She flushes a bit red and rests her head against Yosuke's arm]

That's very sweet of you.

[princeofjunes]

[Yosuke do good! He finds himself smiling like an idiot]

It's not that sweet. Like I said, you deserve it. I feel like I don't do enough for you, and I want to fix that.

Well, I do appreciate it, and I find it very sweet. Its been a long time since anyone cooked just for me.

Well once I learn more, I'll do it more often! I think we'd both get tired of just chicken parm pretty quick, no matter how good it is.

[She blinks and looks up at him. Ruri never tired of the mars bowl, but she did make it a point to only eat it sometimes.]
