[Rapunzel has been uncharacteristically quiet since the Carnival. It was... A big growth experience for her, and it forced her to see Mayfield's true nature. A lot changed, and yet... Nothing did. She's still stuck here, and she's finally coming around to decide she'll make the most of it, and do the best she can to help people. She really is a resilient lady.

What she finds in the mail that morning helps. First her guitar, which gets a smile, and then... Something that makes her shriek in delight.

Deja vu. Yep, Pascal is back.]

[B: Action; Morning to Dusk; John Doe Park]

[Rapunzel can be found in the park for the rest of the day, playing old, whimsical tunes on her guitar for herself and Pascal and anyone else who cares to listen.]

Hi, it's Rapunzel. I haven't really used this much since-- Well, how is everyone?

Oh! No, but I should start one here! I never had one back home. Just some window plants... It would be so much fun! I hadn't even thought of that.

[She's eager to get around back, though, at which point she gestures -- as if she needed to point it out -- to Audrey's mural.

[ooeeooahah]

[ It takes a while for her to register the style is familiar, but not what she knows. ]

Is this your work?

No.

It's my daughter's.

[ooeeooahah]

[ Ilsa pauses, blinks, then smiles. The link is there, just not a blood tie. ] She's quite the artist.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

She really is, isn't she? I didn't know she painted.

[She feels sheepish admitting that. For all she admires Audrey, she should have gotten to know her better from the start.]

But I love painting, too, so it was exciting to find out.

[ooeeooahah]

The back of the house has more available flat space, but I think wrapping the scene all the way around would be a nice addition.

[ Ilsa tilts an eyebrow at Rapunzel. ] Maybe a project you two could do together?

[hairflyingheartpounding]

Oooh, that would look nice. I'll ask Audrey if she'd want to do that.

You have good ideas, Ilsa. You're very smart.

[ooeeooahah]

Just good at finding pieces. [ She chuckles ] It also would make it easier to find your house, like the formal garden in front of mine.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

No, you're smart. Really.

It would! And I'd like to see your garden some time, if that's okay.

[ooeeooahah]

It's safe as long as I keep it tidy, the drones leave it alone then. But there's a few things I needed that they don't carry at the grocery store.

[ Ilsa sighs. ] I'll have to build cold frames or a greenhouse soon.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

...Oh? What are those things for?

[ooeeooahah]

When it snows, I'll still need the herbs... and some of the vegetables. The greenhouse would make things easier, but a cold-frame would do in a pinch.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

Oh! Oh, I see! [Sort of.] How would you make them? Do you have what you'd need?

[ooeeooahah]

Oh, the hardware store has the basics. They aren't hard to build, if you know construction. I admit the job would be easier with some of the materials from home, but we do what we can with what we have.

That's a good attitude to have. I hope it works out.

After what happened last winter, I'm working to be prepared, even if nothing like last year happens.

[hairflyingheartpounding]

Oh, someone told me about that, I think... Yes, it's good to be prepared.

[ooeeooahah]

[ Ilsa is looking up at the mural, but maybe isn't seeing it. ] I have to hope for the best, even when preparing for the worst.

I think that's very wise.

If you've done window gardening, that's a good start. Have you checked the flower shop for plants similar to the ones from home?

No, I really hadn't thought about gardening. I'll look tomorrow, maybe!

They didn't get all of my herbs in, but were able to order a good bit. Check to see if your favorites are there.

I spoke to the Major General that is working there, but any of the aware clerks there can order plants, I think.
